De Hoop Nature Reserve should be on your must visit list. Driving down dirt (mud) roads in the rain, crossing the last human powered pontoon ferry for cars in South Africa, we finally arrived at De Hoop and were pleasantly surprised by what we found. De Hoop Collection has been hired to upgrade the food & lodging operations, and they are first class. The nature reserve is vast, magnificent....great flora / fauna, amazing animals many with babies, great whale watching from 270 foot sand dunes along the coast....spectacular in every way. Great place to stop for a few days of nature and relaxation.
