Agriturismo I Savelli

Alessandro and his family made us feel very welcome and at home. They helped us plan our travel around the area, their evening meals with family and guest were delicious and friendly (Allessandro is an amazing chef!) and the accommodation is all we hoped of a tuscan farmhouse. Cannot wait to return. Thank you! Charles and Bianca

I Savelli is a little farmhouse located about 5 minutes drive from the main road. It is easy enough to reach (and locate) by GPS, or by the directions on their website. You will have to drive on a pebbled road on the last stretch but if our 1.2lt Fiat Panda could manage it, any car can. The first creature that will greet you on your arrival is Yago, the golden retriever. Give him a hug because he's the cutest dog you will see in your life.

This is not a hotel and does not pretend to be. The apartment is huge and clean but basic and unpretentious. The kitchen is good-sized and well-equipped. We went to the nearest COOP Supermarket at San Quirico D' Orcia (about 15 mins away, very easy to find using GPS) and cooked breakfast in the morning. We would have ate out on the patio if it was not so cold. The views from the apartment patio were the best we had seen throughout Tuscany, and the best countryside we have seen in Italy and the world.

We had dinner with Novella and her children on one of the nights and had the chance to enjoy true Tuscan food which was tasty and more than we could finish. It was well worth the 35 Euros. Expect a homely and hearty meal at your Aunt's place with distant nieces and nephews rather than a restaurant experience. Their restaurant recommendation for dinner the next night at Le Ginestre was spot on and we had a great time as well.

At dinner, we mentioned that we were on honeymoon, and when we checked out, they gave us a bottle of sparkling wine (which was awesome) and a little bottle of olive oill produced from their farm (that too was awesome). Little warm touches like these really completed our experience. We will return to Val D' Orcia and I Savelli in a heartbeat.

My husband and I stayed with Alessandro and Novella while we toured around Tuscany. They were so wonderful! They are very happy to help you to make the most out of your trip. They told us about natural springs that are around them. We wouldn't have discovered those on our own! We had dinner with them the first night and I am not kidding when I say it was the best meal we had while in Italy. And we ate a LOT! It was a great introduction to the way Italians eat. So many courses ;). We got to enjoy the olive oil that their agriturismo produces while we were eating dinner. It was so delicious; we we bought 4 bottles before we left! The grounds were perfect. It really is a great way to start every morning and end every night. Every where you look you are surrounded by the beautiful tuscan views you'd expect to see. We went the first week in May and they had just planted an entire field with sunflower seeds that will bloom in the summer. The pool there is unbelievable. It has the most magnificent view and the water was crystal clear! I would definitely stay with them again if we get the chance to return to Italy!

It is a great place where you can really relax! The view is great from all sides of the house and from the swimming pool. Alessandro and Novella are very helpful, hospitable and speak very good English, which makes communication very easy. Alessandro educated us on all herbs that were growing in their garden and Novella on recipes how to make her perfect marmelades! The rooms are cosy and very clean. We definitely recommend this place!

My husband and I stayed at the I Savelli Agriturismo last October on our honeymoon trip to Italy. It was one of the most memorable part of our trip, one that we still talk about fondly to this day. We love everything about the experience- our clean, homey apartment, the hospitality of Alessandro, Novella and their wonderful kids, Alessandro's unbeatable, mouth-watering cooking (which had been mentioned numerous times by other reviewers!), their labrador retriever Yago which we adore so much and of course the wonderful area that this agriturismo is located.

Both of us can't wait to visit Tuscany again during the Spring and of course we'll definitely be staying here at the I Savelli agristurismo again.

Our best regards to Alessandro & Novella!

If you're looking for a relaxing time in Tuscany, look no further than Agriturismo I Savelli. Alessandro and Novella are wonderful hosts, full of helpful information about the area. I Savelli is in a great location for exploring Tuscany and the stars at night can't be beat.

Do yourself a favor and have a meal created by Alessandro, an excellent chef! A word to the wise: skip lunch that day so that you don't have to turn away delicious food like we did.

Thanks for a great visit, Alessandro and Novella!

Room Tip: Any room is a good room at I Savelli!

We stayed one week with our 5 month old son in one of the comfortable and cosy apartments during August and had a very nice time. Novella and Alessandro take care of you and supply you with lots of traveling advices, the possibility to join them for dinner and ability to buy nice wines from the neighbourhood.
The view is stunning, the swimming pool a good place to cool down and the surrounding area is beautiful.
Holiday as it is meant to be!
