We booked this hotel because of it's convenience to Siena and we thought that it looked like a pretty Farmhouse Hotel...when we found it we discovered it was just of the the main road and more of a 'one night only' hotel. The staff were nice and helpful but the hotel could do with some TLC. Pool area was lovely but also needed more regular maintenance, but having said this only for the pool we would have wanted to leave.
The hotel restaurant was good but don't expect anything once dinner is over...
This hotel is fine if you use it as a stop off on your way somewhere else. we stayed three nights but that is the max anyone should consider. Don't forget if you book this Hotel you must be driving.

Room Tip: Make sure the A/C is working.

We booked into this hotel for six nights in June 2013 (with Hotels.com) because of its central location for touring the hill towns of Tuscany. We had to check out after two days because it was unbearable. There was a note on the reservation that there was no refund available for early checkout.

We checked in on a very hot day (30+ degrees Celsius). We got the Double Superior room with an obstructed view of the river and the famous Ponte. This is a two star hotel. We were told we would have to pay an additional 3 euros a day for Internet access. This was the first time in over three weeks in Italy that we were asked to pay additional fees for WiFi

The air conditioning was very weak and the room never cooled down. That night the A/C was not cooling at all, and we were afraid to open the window because of mosquitoes. Next day it was stifling when we woke up, and we complained to the desk staff about the lack of air conditioning. We were told that the A/C was only on from 14:00 to 19:00 and from 21:00 and 23:00. After the desk staff contacted the manager, we were offered another room, if we paid a cleaning fee of 30 euros.

I switched on the A/C in the alternate room for 10 minutes to ensure it was working, but it was also very weak and ineffective. We told the desk staff that we would keep the room we had for another night, but that we would have to check out the next day because of the ineffective A/C and especially the lack of A/C at night. I asked the desk staff to inform the hotel manager, John Lucca.

We called Hotels.com to inform them, and were told to make sure the manager was told about our reasons for checking out early, and that the Hotels.com agent would call the hotel to confirm our departure due to the problems, and obtain approval to issue a refund.

We got home a week later and no refund had been issued. We called Hotels.com, who finally contacted John Lucca, who said he was not going to issue the refund. I called John Lucca directly, and he stated that there was no problem with the A/C. He stated that the A/C goes off when the ambient temperature with the outside dropped to a specific level, and there was no timer on the system as we had been told. Since no other guests complained about the A/C he was not going to authorize a refund for four days, as we had checked out early as per the policy. He would not provide any contact information of his management.

On a positive note, the desk staff were trying hard to please us (within the constraints of their management policies), and the restaurant offered a hearty continental breakfast and we had two excellent dinners, at very good value.

Room Tip: Check the A/C before paying for your room.

Were here in May. This hotel is about 20 km south from Siena, so we choose it as a base point for a day trips around Chianti area.
It was recently rebuilt from an old farm house (in fact it consists of a group of buildings) and stands on a very big land plot adjacent to a fast river about 10 mt wide. There is an old semi-destroyed bridge over this river given the part of the hotel's name ("ponte" is a "bridge" in English).
All hotel's interiors are very nice, the rooms are spacious (especially the bathrooms - they are incredibly large for Italy). There is 3 living floors and an elevator is in place. In summer they open a big swimming pool (it was not ready for a season in beginning of May).
A lot of free parking place is a big advantage.
Hotel restaurant is in separate building just 3 meters from reception.
A restaurant is the only one reason why I gave this hotel 4 out of 5. It is not suitable for breakfast - each morning stuff use a few tables to put on snaks, bread, juices coffee etc. They put these tables in the middle of a restaurant hall and it looks like a poor la fourchette in an office. Moreover, they use plastic caps for a juice and water, and we spent some efforts to explain that it is not good for a 4-star hotel. The dinner was nice, a la carte, with some minor mistakes on a stuff' side.
To my mind all hotel stuff need some training - they try to do their best but they don't know how to do this right way.
For instance, on the day of our arrival we found that there were no bath towels in our rooms. Having asked at reception we got a reply that "a woman cleaning rooms already went home and I don't know were to take towels". By the way it was only around 18-00! After some debates we explained this man where he can find towels.

Generally speaking this hotel is worth his money - I hope that these minor problems with stuff will be eliminated, and I wish this nice hotel the very best in future, and will recommend it to everybody.

Room Tip: Take a superior room

Husband, 4 year old son and I were supposed to stay 5 nights at this hotel. Upon viewing the room we noticed major problems right away:

Non-working, very small portable style shower (would not drain and no water pressure)
When attempting to turn on the air conditioner, a machine of sorts would turn on, blow out warm air, and also fill the room with an extremely moldy and musty smell that forced us to open the windows (that had no screens on them)
Toilet would not stop running (they did come by and fix this later that day)
When touring the property, the pool had a green tint and had many patches of green mildew. We clearly knew this was not a safe swim zone and would not be able to utilize the swim area.

When I went to the front desk Sunday evening, they put the items on a list for their service man and said it would be taken care of. We went to dinner at the onsite restaurant, returned to the room, and the air conditioner and shower were still not working. The front desk said that the service man said it worked fine and that he was now gone for the night.

So basically we were not to have any working air conditioner with a young child, 35 degree weather, and all the rest of the rooms were booked so there was no option to switch. As we had NO other option, we stayed in the hotel that night and had an extremely uncomfortable sleep, and no showers. Counting on the hotel to switch us to a suitable room the next morning.

The next day, they had one other room for us to inspect for a switch. More problems. Same issue as the other air conditioner, only blew out warm air. A massive colony of large black ants had come in the room at the back door that lead to the patio (the desk staff said that this room had not been cleaned yet, and that they had a special spray that would dose the room with before we would stay in there...great).

We expressed our frustration to the front desk staff at night and in the morning after we were without any options. We were basically told a couple of things "This is not my fault, I will tell my morning colleague.", and then from the morning colleague that "No other guests have complained about their air, so we don't know what to say". I explained that I cannot account for the other guests' rooms, perhaps we had a couple of bad 'lemon' rooms, and the front desk staff shrugged his shoulders at me and began attending to another guest.

Our choice was pretty much made for us and we had to check out of the room and find other suitable accommodations. Still working on getting a refund for the unused nights. Even at the budget rate that this hotel offers, not worth it and there were much more suitable hotels nearby that we found that had 'working' air.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of the Tuscan tranquility just off the main road it is an advantage but it does not bother at all.

Cute pool.

Rooms are spacious and clean. We had a rear view with hills and sunrise, so really enjoyed the room.

Hotel staff was wonderful, welcoming, attentive, and very helpful and very nice.

Although it has a number of things that require improvement!

The breakfast was poor and no vegetables at all.!! (This is a 4 star hotel?)
Do not let us know that you can order coffee cappuccino just in case we saw someone ordering so we understood.

We ate dinner at the hotel and it was reasonable, nothing more. About 65 euros on average for 4 people.

WIFI 3 euros for 24 hours. Expensive, and gives an unpleasant feeling ...

Once we were asked to pay on a towel in the pool 2 euros.

It is important to know, there is no nearby supermarket or grocery store where you can buy simple groceries have to go to a nearby town or even Siena to purchase products.

I'm sure these things will be improved if the hotel will be even more in demand.

And although everything is very Nihnno and price worth the money.

Great location for exploring Tuscany.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Comfortable rooms.
Good breakfast.
We booked through a Groupon deal with car hire for 5 days and were amazed with the place and area.
It was well worth the money.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 night during my trip to Tuscany. I was on the way to Florence after some days in Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza and it was a good option.
We paid ~ 50 euro for 2 people and hotel was really reasonable for the price. Clean room, breakfast ok and good staff.
There are only 2 concerns... first one is that air conditioning was not working because it was not summer time (and it was a little bit hot that night) and the address is not so easy to find even using GPS (address does not match) ... so, print some maps before ...
If you are planning to use this hotel as a base for Tuscany ride, I do not recommend. Try to find something more close to Siena.
Hotel is above average if you take in consideration price ... so, I could recommend ...
