My family of 5 travelled through the small, historical town of Colle di Val D'Elsa on our way to Modena. The proprietor, Elisabeta was very gracious and extremely helpful in arranging our accommodations for our stay overnight. When we arrived, we immediately felt comfortable as she showed us to our "suite". It was late for dinner by American standards, but in Italy, it was the perfect hour for dining. She encouraged us to walk a few short blocks to the piazza. So glad we took her advice! We thoroughly enjoyed dinner at a local ristorante followed by gelato, and a lovely walk around to view twinkling lights. This is not a real tourist area so we very much enjoyed the sights and sounds of the local flavor. The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast served at the B&B, and again Elisabeta encouraged us to go up to the medevial town of Colle. It was fantastic! We stopped at a monastery, heard monks chanting, and marveled at the architecture of the historical town. Truly one of our highlights as we traveled through Italy.

We had a wonderful stay. Elisabetta is super friendly. The rooms look neat and the breakfast is fine. The location was ideal for us (we were able to have dinner in Colle, so we didn't need the car).

No wifi, no private parking. A traditional house in a busy street in the lower part of Colle. A noisy road on one side, a parking lot on the other (it's free but everybody in town knows that so it's crowded..). But maybe we misinterpreted the website where it seemed to have a garden and food served out there.. Ok the rooms are spacious and clean and the owner is nice and helpful, but there are probably more charming places to stay in Chianti, especially in May.

It's a small italian house, with 4-8 rooms.
The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The owner is very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast is every day the same, avarage foods, no variety.

The old town is fascinating, but it's a one-day program. The town is rather a living place than a tourism node.

Clean and simple with everything you need just around the corner. Fantastic A.C.! I would turn it off in the morning when I left and when I returned in the evening, the room would still be comfortable. This past July the temperature hovered around 100 F.
I stayed for a week and took day trips to Florence and Sienna. I miss being there. Anyone who meets Elisabetta will know that you are welcome in Colle-she's ready with ideas and suggestions on what the town has to offer. There's plenty to see and do right in town.

I stayed here for several nights, and found the owner Elisabetta (who speaks excellent English) to be a warm, friendly and helpful lady.

Breakfast is good, and some items can be made to order, especially coffees!

The location is good, very central, in the 'lower' part of Colle Val D'Elsa - if you need to get to the 'upper' part, the public lift to save your legs going up a VERY steep hill is close by, as are a choice of eating places, internet cafes and the bus station to connect to Siena is about a five minute walk.

The rooms are simple, clean and pleasant - the only thing I missed was a small fridge to put water and snacks in, but no big deal.

The only drawback for me was that the room I had faced onto a large carpark - and each night I was woken in the early hours by a car revving loudly (someone must have to leave for work at that time) and could not get back to sleep! So just make sure you ask for a room that does not overlook the car park, and you will have a good stay.
