“Decent enought; and good atmosphere.”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

We liked the cellar type surroundings but found the food to be good but unremarkable. You shouldn't go wrong here. But nothing special either.

“The best!”
Reviewed July 15, 2012

This restaurant, situated in the wine cellars/dungeons next to the the Duomo in Val d'Elsa was the best meal in our 12 day tour of Tuscany.
We had a special Tuscan starter which was unbeleivable, containing pork in pastry and artichoke hearts - maginficent!!. It was then topped with Lobster linguine - heaven!! Thia was washed down with a white wine (Vermentino Marremma Toscana)
A gormets delight.

“Hidden treasure”
Reviewed April 16, 2012

This restaurant is in the ancient part of town and is located in the basement of an old cellar. You really have to make sure you do not pass it. Once, you are downstairs, you are amazed about the decoration and how beautiful it has all been restored. The waitresses are the most friendly we encountered in Italy. They make you feel comfortable right away and help you choose the nices dishes even if they are not all on the menu. The food was delicious. It was so good that we went there 3 times in one week to taste all the different dishes and enjoy their most famous chocolat pie as dessert. Never had anything better. A very nice experience which made our holiday even more memorable. Keep up the good work.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed April 9, 2012 via mobile

The setting is memorable and the staff are pleasant and efficient. The food was a disappointment. The ravioli were dry and didn't feel as fresh as they should have been. The duck was plainly presented, rather too plainly.

The cheese and wine were very good and a local beer was a welcome change from what is normally available in Italy.

On the whole it was a rather ordinary meal and rather expensive for what it was.
