“Perfect Retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2013

This was my husband's favorite stop on our Italy Trip. The hotel is on beautiful grounds with a big gorgeous garden, hot tub, and a bar that serves drinks until late in the evening. The staff were top notch-Alice (Alicia), Gabriel, Coco-they made our trip even better. I loved the location-in this small walled town between Montalcino and Montepulciano. It's a bit more off the path, and for that we were grateful. We strolled the small streets, and shopped the goods, and took advantage of a spa package for my husband and me. It was heaven. We were treated so well, and the room was beautiful. We were very happy in Nettuno-not a 2 floor suite, but a nice big deluxe room with a jacuzzi tub nonetheless. The restaurant attached to the hotel is good as well, but we stumbled upon a spot called Il Pozzo in town, for lunch and I found that meal to be delightful too. This is definitely an upscale hotel-not the Waldorf Astoria (and thankfully not quite those prices), but a more European, tranquil, and simply beautiful setting. Also, the breakfasts were a wonderful start to our day.

Garden setting so inviting you want to relax there every afternoon. We had the Saturnia room complete with jacuzzi and second level living area and fireplace. Breakfast was complimentary with many diverse options. Entire property decorated in comfy, quaint Tuscan atmosphere. Individual spa treatments so book in advance. We also took in the thermal pools about 5 minutes away and that was wonderful. This was a top rated stop on our Italy visit.

We can really recommend both the hotell and the restaurant. The best stay during our trip in Toscana. We would like to come back. The location and the kindness of the staff was appreciated. Please go and try yourself.

Located in a beautiful well culturally preserved little city, with cozy garden, jaccuzi, individually designed rooms perfect for romantic get-away (even candles in the room!), local products to taste. Hotel also offers to try natural cosmetics which can later be purchased. Tea offered at any time. Possibility to have spa and massage service in the hotel. Thermal baths and breahtaking nature in the vicinity. Place to come back over and over again, highly recommended! And very friendly staff...

Room Tip: Aquarios room for romantic stay

Very pleasant boutique-style hotel in all respects; excellent staff with impeccable English, good range of breakfast options, very comfortable room with excellent facilities and just the right degree of historic atmosphere. Enjoyed an excellent meal in their nearby restaurant - the food, wine, ambience and service were great and the price was reasonable. Very much enjoyed the complimentary afternoon tea and cakes sitting outside on the raised terrace garden. It wasn't busy when we were there and this added to the quality of our stay. Overall an excellent experience in all respects and not especially expensive at this low season period.

The hotel was very nice and I appreciated the extra little touches (bath soaps, creams) from the boutique across the hotel. The rooms were on the small side but very comfortable. The only complain is that the heat could not be turned down automatically so we had to open the windows to sleep as we were literally sweating in our bed when it was 7C outside!

Room Tip: The rooms on the top floor are nice but there are no elevators.

Stayed at the Hotel Palazzo for two nights. Nice, warm and clean rooms in a relaxing environment. We bought a spa package which included exclusive use of jacuzzi and steam bath as well as relaxing oil massages. A good experience. Reasonable prices due to a special offer. Had a wonderful four course menu at the restaurant which is connected to the hotel and it was probably one of the best meals during our one week stay in Tuscany (and there were numerous to choose from). Friendly and helpful staff. Charming little town to relax in for a couple of days. Great samples of shower and skin care products in the bathroom (however, one had already been opened and used by another guest..) Pillows were too big to be comfortable. Would love to go back in the Summer time when you can enjoy the sun in the little garden of the hotel.
