We have recently stayed in a junior suite of the hotel and it does have something magic about it. It looks and feels like a voyage back in time of renaissance...magnificent. The staff were all very welcoming, from the first to the last person. The scenery has a feel of serenity and the position and the views are indescribable. The breakfast was included in the price and it takes place in a restaurant that is very charming and the food so delicious. The staff were again very welcoming and attentive. The dinner was great too, beautiful wood burning fire place, that added to the lovely atmosphere of a rainy evening. So we decided to dine there 3 times out of 5. They have hand beaten butter with herbs, we have never tasted anything better and of course, the homemade bread...with the bottle of their house wine and the prickling fire place...one needs nothing more. We will definitely return in the spring when the weather will allow to enjoy the garden even more.

This is a very old villa with several buildings. This use to be the home of a pope. You have many choices for rooms. The moment you arrive eveyone is trying to help. We stayed in a suite that was Gabriella's and as you are walking to the suite there is glass cases with all her dresses. The suite was huge with a sitting area, bedroom and bath. It is too hard to describe but just incredible. The bathroom was huge with a jacuzzi tub and a great shower. The whole suite is filled with antiques. The bed is very comfortable. We were greeted with a large bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine. There is a pool, chapel and a spa. I had a facial with best face massage that I ever had. The breakfast buffet was really good and they will cook eggs anyway you want them which is unusual for Italy. There is a very good restaurant on the property for lunch and dinner. We wanted to visit olive oil farms and wineries and the hotel staff put together a list of places to visit. This is truly a peaceful, quiet, beautiful location with fantastic service.

We got to Relais La Suvera in Pievescola in Tuscany. It has a great location close to Siena Florence and more. The relais is a beautiful place with the combination of old and modern. The stuff goes fully to service you and support you with every tiny details. The local restaurant offers you a great combination of food and atmosphere. I would improve 2 things - the bed is too stiff causing back pains and the isolation of the walks between the rooms is poor
Is short - an excellent place to spend your vacation in Toscany!!!

Let's look at the plus side of this hotel first......the location and the buildings are stunning. Our rooms (yes, rooms) were well appointed and spacious. The swimming pool area was lovely.
However.......at 10.30 on our first night there was a low pitched whining noise coming from the wall to one side and above us. The duty manager came straight over and said somebody must be having a shower in the room above (!!) and it did then stop. He looked relieved and asked if we would like to change room - we saw no need for this as it was then quiet. However, the next night it started again just after midnight. The night porter (without even listening to the noise) offered us another room to sleep overnight so we agreed and threw on bathrobes and decanted to another room. He told us it was the wine processing plant and he could not contact the maintenance person responsible at that time of night. The next morning the hotel offered us another room so we had the palaver of moving all our stuff - at that stage the explanation was the pump bringing water up to the hotel from the well. Fortunately we moved on the following day. However on the night when we were not in our room our Tom Tom mysteriously disappeared from our room. The hotel were not in any way interested and just kept saying nobody knew anything about it!! We got absolutely nowhere with them and ended up paying Euros 300 to Avis as the lady on the front desk at the hotel told us that Avis had said we did not have to report it to the police when in fact we should have - had we done so, we would have claimed on the car rental insurance policy and Avis made clear when we got back to the airport that this is what we should have been told to do!!! Could have been lovely but left with a sour taste, fortunately went on to Villa La Massa near Florence which was delightful as have all the other hotels we have stayed in during our holidays in Italy. Oh, and the food wasn't great either - stone cold coffee and all the omelette ingredients muddled up on the first morning got us off to a bad start! So sad as potentially this place could be stunning. Have never written a negative review before and hope this will be a one off. Just very upset and let down by the whole experience.

Room Tip: Don't chose room 59!!!

I spent a wonderful four nights at La Suvera and it was fantastic. I stayed in Room 53 and it was a cozy and private space. The bathroom was gorgeous and it overlooked a lovely private terrace...it was nice to take a bath while listening to the birds! The pool was awesome...often had it to myself. The chapel was a lovely space to spend some private time and the artifacts in the museum were fun to look at. I also spent two lovely afternoons in the library playing the Steinway which was wonderful. I had music with me but there was also a good selection of classical scores there to play as well. What a treat and a surprise to have a piano to use on vacation...and in such a beautiful setting. I hope I can return to this enchanting place again some day. It's one of the few places I've been that I felt truly happy and peaceful on vacation!

My wife and I have been going to La Suvers for about 15 years now and we have to say it is one of the best hotels in which we have ever stayed.
It has history and antiquity, beauty, seclusion in breathtaking surroundings. The staff over the years have changed but the standard of service and care is first class. The quality and standard of cuisine is wonderful - we have never felt the need to eat anywhere else. We have had the same room over the 15 years which has been upgraded and is full of character and also themed.
To the family and staff at La Suvera, thank you again for a wonderful relaxing and carefree holiday!
We hope to return next same time, same place!!

We stayed 4 nights here for our honeymoon and, have to say, it was just perfect! We were upgraded to a beautiful suite (in the farmhouse buildings), resplendent with Chinoiserie antiques and dramatic red and black decor, a walk-in wardrobe room and a huge marble bathroom. Incredible.
The views are amazing, restaurants delicious. Spent most of the time lounging by the pool, which was bliss and very relaxing, but also managed a walk in the forest, a walk to the local village (where there is also a nice restaurant), and a visit to the hotel's own museum in the main Papal Villa. The Marquis and Princess were often strolling around, plus they have many cats and a dog, so it did feel like we were sharing their home! What a special place.
Location is perfect for doing nothing - but if you do want to visit other places in Tuscany, it is very rural, so you would need to hire a car or ask the concierge to book a taxi (which costs, for example, €40 one-way to San Gimignano and €60 to Siena).

Room Tip: We stayed in the farmhouse building and were very happy with an amazing suite.
