Once again we had an excellent stay, we do this trip once a year and we love it. Service was awesome very helpful, views are great.
Loved the tenting spot we were allocated as this was so convenient to the abolusion block and also the walkway to the beach shaded area as the weather was scorching. would reccomend Waipu Cove Campsite to anyone that is looking for somewheret o escape from the hussle and bussle of the city.....:)

I stayed at Camp Waipu Cove last week, in a self contained chalet. It was just a few metres from the beach, and once on the sand dune, the view was stunning. There was also a very decent children's playground on the site. The cabin came with a double bed, bunk beds, bedding, a tv, shower etc, and was very clean and spacious. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Like all sites, cafes etc in Waipu, the location is secluded, due to the vast amount of beach frontage, and the few people living there! Whilst staying here, a good place to visit is Roots n Shoots tea room, gardens and nursery. The 2 acre tropically planted gardens are simply stunning, and a perfect back drop to a devonshire tea and clotted cream scone! A wonderful quite location for an amazing holiday! Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Many options here, from tent pitches to self contained cabins. Cabins are closest to beach and child...

Booked a powered site on line (nice and easy and they send a confirmation email), $40 for 1 night (note there's a minimum 2 nights stay in long weekends) and headed north in our new VW "California" campervan. Recently installed manager Gary and friendly team made us feel very wecome and were most helpful in answering our queries and requests. Had a superb relaxing time (helped by the sunny Northland weather), wife even had wi fi, discovered good coffee at cafe on opposite side of road just south of camp, wonderful takeaway John Dory fish burger and fries from restaurant adjoining camp (although restaurant eat-in meals seemed very pricy), and I scored some nice surf early on Saturday morning before the crowds arrived ! Beautiful sandy beach, safe swimming with no rips normally, although take care if big surf running, can be some undertow (Waipu SLS Club usually on patrol during summer months in weekends - remember always swim between the flags), very well laid out with immaculate kitchen, shower and toilet facilities....just what you hope for in a camp ground !! Wished we could have stayed longer...can't wait until next time.

We hired a self contained cabin, which was a clean and well maintained cabin, with all the necessaries. Friendly staff. Basic accommodation, but tastefully furnished, with clean comfy beds and a good shower.

To improve this campsite for us we'd need baby cots available for hire, and the cost being more reasonable. Cost stung somewhat at $220 per night and a minimum 3 night stay for labour weekend, which unfortunately made our trip here one day too long for the activities available around waipu on a dull ish weather labour weekend. Picking hairs, other campers up drinking and making heaps of noise until 1.30am was not that flash, nor the beer bottles on the kids play parks in the morning, however the staff were around nice were early cleaning things up.

This is a well located campsite, on edge of a lovely family friendly beach, about a 5 min drive from waipu town; nice and busy sat morning. Kids of 1, 9 and 11 loved the onsite playparks and the beach. Generally very well kept grounds. Two nice cafes v near the site for coffee/good food/ takeaway.

Fantastic site in a great location. Friendly welcome, good facilities, extreemly well maintained clean and tidy without heavy rules and notice regulations. Although nice and secluded, cafe coffee, a great restaurant and a local store are just a minutes walk away. Can't wait to visit again in the summer.

Room Tip: Adequate facilities if you only have a tent !
