“Enjoy as part of a pleasant walk down the canal”

I live near the locks and go every now and again. It is situated in pleasant surroundings and its fun to watch the boats go through. It doesn't take much time to see so don't expect to be spending ages there.

“Fascinating piece of history.”

A blisteringly hot day, lovely to see barges going through the locks, totally fascinated me, thoroughly enjoyed a lovely walk on the canal.
The lock keepers were very helpful explaining what was happening, many thanks to them.

“Lots of walking leads to the locks”

We walked from Saltaire and caught a bus back. Very easy flat pleasant walk. Pushchair and wheelchair friendly although it will be a steep short push up at the locks. Cafe by the locks.

“A must stop if your passing on the canal .”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2014

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon , my friend and I walked from Riddlesden to the Five Rise Locks stopping at the cafe for a much needed ice cream break before turning back . this was a well presented clean and very popular cafe , the staff were pleasant and efficient , the menu was well priced with lots of choice . The cakes on display were tempting and we were definitely tempted , and the ice cream was delicious ,
They offer toilet facilities , free wifi , seating inside and out , and bike storage for cyclists .
Scenic canal views , watching the barges negotiate the famous Bingley Five Rise Locks and wildlife on route x
