Location wise the hotel is very good, right opposite to the 7-sisters fall. But the rooms are quite overpriced. Bathroom is ver small and not up to the mark considering the room rent.
Food is nothing much to talk about but then you do not have any other option nearby.
The bed was very uncomfortable and the two single beds slide apart if you move much so people staying with small children and letting them sleep in the middle should be careful.
Throughout the evening the power was off and on. The generator was working but it was very disturbing and irritating when the power was off and on at a frequency of 3 times in 10 minutes. As a result we could not watch the television much and there was no other entertainment in the evening.
Alert - Do not buy any handicraft from the hotel, they charge you exorbitantly. We bought a flower vass for Rs. 200 which is available in Shillong for Rs.120 in Govt. emporium and with a little bit of bargaining for Rs.100 in any private shop in Shillong.
Now the most pathetic part is the service at reception and the manager Manas in particular. When we checked in, they told us that our booked room, the Orchid Room is already occupied and so they are providing us with a superior cottage room. We were displeased as we heard that the view is great from that room. The cottage they first provided was the farthest one in the ground floor with no view and later on checked that it was very scary in the night. When we protested they shifted us to a first floor cottage next to the reception with relatively good view of the falls. But throughout, Manas the manger lied that there is no view from any of the rooms. Instead of being apologetic for their mess up, he was urging us to check in quickly as more guests will be coming which was agian a lie. We checked in the night and the first cottage that I mentioned earlier was unoccupied. When asked in the morning he again lied that the guests came in the evening. Service overall was average and the attitude of Manas was not aligned to the hospitality industry. I checked the reviews and found earlier allegations against him personally and when I informed him that people are unhappy with his behaviour with the guests he was still smiling and said he can't do anything if some people have problems with him. Note for the promoters of the hotel will be that you will be losing out on customers if you keep such a pathetic manager at helm with so much attitude and carelessness and so much less concern for the guests.
Strongly disapprove and discourage people to stay here as it is highly overpriced and has rude people in charge who does not know how to behave with guests.
