“Excellent Place to view”
Reviewed March 3, 2013

Birishiri is a good place for relaxation but you need to lose much sweat to reach there. There are Direct bus for Birisiri or you can go via Mymenshing ( Changing buses). Train is also available upto "Jaria Zhanjail" (20 mins on bus from Birisiri). If you want to travel through train, first you need to reach Mymenshing and then need to get in a train for Jaria Zhanjail. Rail schedules are available on Bangladesh Railway page.

There are some popular resorts in Birishiri like YMCA, YWCA etc. You can stay there for as low as 400 tk ($5) one night, two persons.

Rent a rickshaw for 300/400 tk whole day to visit various attractions like Ranikong, Kohinoor Chemical Lake ( A lake with blue colored water), Bijoypur Border etc.

Ask me if you have any questions! fb.com/travelexpertsbangladesh

Thanks. Have a nice & Enjoyable trip!

“Scenic beauty”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

A wonderful scenic place to visit. You have to take a bus from Dhaka to Mymensingh or Netrokona. From there you have to take a Tempo ride or a bus o Birishiri. There is only a limited number of hotels there to stay, so book early. The river is crystal clear and if you know swimming you should try the chilled water for a dip. The water is not that deep so nothing to worry about. The place is very safe and secure. They also have "Mela" (village fair) in a number of occasions, if you can get that you will experience a wonderful evening as well. If you are young and adventurous, you should visit this place.

“Birishiri ... a little heaven close enough from Dhaka”
Reviewed December 13, 2012

The main attractions:
The hill of china clay, a pond of clear blue water in the middle of it, the hill of Garo where the "Garo"( a tribal community of bangladesh) lives, the zero point (border of india-bangladesh), old temples and Jaminder houses.

How to go:
There is a direct bus from Mohakhali bus stand of dhaka to Birishiri of Netrokona. It's a 6-7 hour journey by Bus. Private car may save much time.

Where to stay:
Its a small town where the only available place to stay is a government guest house called YMCA. The rooms are ordinary but facilitated enough (attached toilet, bed with pillow and blanket)to stay one or two nights. There is a beautiful and big field and facility to do BBQ party there.

How to go the spots:
You can rent rickshaw or motorbike to move around the area if you want to see all the places in a single day or you can just walk through the beautiful mud roads of village.

Tour cost:
we needed 2500 BDT per person for a total 3 day tour.

The china clay is a beautiful and definitely a unique place of the world. the cold surface of the china clay and the transparent blue water creates a meditative quality in that space. On the other hand it's a good opportunity to see the traditional village landscape of Bangla and explore the Garo cultures. In total, i would say, 3 days and and only 2500 BDT and awesome day long experiences... perfect!
