“Great hotel, serene location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013

The hotel is new, designed and built in mountain-slope style.
Breakfast was quite good, some European selection as well.
Things to keep in mind - a mosquito repellent is a must and the mattresses are very firm.
Otherwise it was a great time.

Room Tip: Top floors are the best, there are also large rooms outside of the main building

Visited the place with a group of friends. Had an amazing time and must say the Resort is an ideal spot for family time with peace and quiet. Very green with a number of activities that can be used. Loved the pool (yes in the cold!!) and the billiard room.

Only complain was the jacuzzi in my room did not work while the bathroom's have become a little stained. Expect the management to keep all facilities at top notch levels at all times given the customers spend a fair amount of money to stay here.

Room Tip: Please check all facilities of a room when checking in.

we went their in November with my parents and my hubby and my 3 yrs son.the resort is beautifully designed and well managed.we stayed in room 3404(terrace) which has the best view after presidential suits.rooms are well equipped along with big balcony and washroom.almost all bathrooms have jaccuzzi!the balcony offers you a splendid view of green pasture. you can spend good time with a coffee/tea even...or can enjoy the moonlit night.believe me,its awesome if you can managed to stay there during full moon!there quality of service is very good.foods are up to standard (both bengali n continental) but expensive.better if you are in a group of 2/3,then you can save some money from the high priced cousine.to me, the best part of the resort is its openness, greenery and environment.you have different spots, garden and walkway..however, the kids play area is not up to standard and dirty.don't forget to take same toys and electric kettle if you are traveling with kids.another thing i want to mention that the quality of spa is not good at all.though the spa rooms well designed but workers need a lot of experience to do it properly.the resort is expensive, however i will not mind to spend that after having the great service, pleasure and comfort.my whole family enjoyed a lot and want to go there again!

Room Tip: terrace rooms have better views!

We stayed here as it was the best hotel in the area - including Sylhet and Srimongol - so even though it was a bit further to travel to Srimongol we preferred to stay here. The place is in nice surrounds and very peaceful, great to get away from it all. The place is spacious and clean. We stayed in an executive room which was very large with a balcony and view. These type of low rise resorts are a new concept for Bangladesh, as I am told by the locals. The bathroom was not so clean however hence we did not have a bath. It was good that things were enclosed so no problem with mosquitos. The breakfast and dinner was not of a high standard and I am not sure how fresh the food was. There were better options in town for food - in particular I highly recommend Woondaal - we went here quite a few times - excellent quality food. The place is a good base to stay to travel around the area - we had a guide who took us to Jaflong, boat trip to Lalakhal etc - but can be done through hotel - and well worthwhile. This same Nazimgarh resort has a cafe at Lalakhal which has great views and atmosphere and tent accommodation at this stage -though we went and looked at their hotel due to open late this year or early next year which looked great including their observation tower and it is a really nice area to stay in. The staff try to make their best efforts though service is a little slow - eg. they say it takes 1-2 hours to prepare the bill for room payment. The internet was not included - it costs a small amount to use it in their common area - though when reading the reviews on this page, some people seemed to have internet, though we were not advised of this. If returning to this area I would stay here as I don't think there is anything better - it is quite pricy for what it is and where it is. It is a little out of town so you need to arrange transport but nice and peaceful. If returning I would also stay at their new Lalakhal resort. My rating is really based on comparisons with other places I have traveled internationally, and for a resort style it isn't exactly 5 star, but still has character and good quality for Bangladesh.

Room Tip: Executive room seemed the nicest

My first visit to Sylhet on a Business Conference had us staying at Nazimgarh Resort. I was not sure what to expect but I was blown out of my mind with the sheer modernness of the resort. Beautifully designed. The rooms have been the largest I have stayed in my life. The bathrooms were fitted with Jacuzzi (though i did not use this on principle of water conservation). The massive verandah in fornt of the room offered a splendid view of the rolling green hills and ideal for sipping a morning cup of tea. Awesome Food. The conference facilities were also commendable.

Room Tip: I visited in March 2011

I went there to see the place.the only reason I went there cause Many of my friends and family went there before . I find its very nice place but , unfortunately !! it is very expensive for local people specially middle class people . People like me going to Bangladesh from UK it's ok for us to spend BDT 5k TO BDT 10k per night .we don't care spending any surprised amount cause we only go to Bangladesh for few days . Overall this is a very nice place . if you can afford to spend good size of money you have totally different experience than you had ever in Bangladesh . Many many thanks to the management .

We were apprehensive whether it would be just a 'resort' in name, but no, we were pleasantly surprised when we reached there. We stayed in a suite (Orchid) on 1st floor of the main office building, it had one sitting room with adjoining bathroom and veranda, overseeing nearby nature with no sign of any person, just nature....the bedroom was adjoined with the living room with a small corridor; the bedroom was very big, with big windows on both sides of the bed, the bedroom had adjoining bathroom which had jacuzzi (!) in addition to other amenities, that was a plus for us! All furnitures and amenities were very modern...though there was an ensuing crack on the wall on one side, which we felt needs to be repaired. We paid approx BDT 16000 per night, very high, still we thought, for once in a while, for the serene, calm and lovely experience, you can spend that much.
The restaurants (we had food in 2 of their restaurants) had enough air & light, food was good, staff was friendly, though they need to be prompter, but we were happy.
We also took their trip to Lalakhal; the boat ride and tea garden visit were enjoyable. All in all, we found the place to be 'value for money'.

Room Tip: Take a room which has one side open, to have open views sitting in veranda
