I spent 4 nights at the Bayovar with a group of 16 other people from the United States. We were in Piura doing humanitarian work during our stay. All hotels in which we stayed for the month we were in Peru were simple, and economical. The Bayovar rooms were small, but very clean. The staff was limited, but helpful. Only a few staff members spoke English. It was located near the main town square. We were cautioned by a few locals to go out only in groups. None of us had any problems. The people in town treated us well. There was a good wifi connection that most of us used to communicate with folks back home. The rooms had window based air conditioners that worked well. Plumbing was an issue for several rooms. The elevator was also out of order the first day we were there. The staff did address the problems quickly.
