We are from Montreal but had never visited the Saguenay region and its magnificent fjord. We wanted a short cruise, a visit of the small villages and general information on the history and economy of the region. This tour surpassed our expectations! The guides are very professional and they make you share their great enthusiasm for the region. We highly recommend Fjord et Monde.

Our tour was hosted by Joseph (the driver) and Caroline. Both are very knowledgeable about the history and nature of the area but it was Caroline, with her excellent knowledge of English, who orated.
The tour lasted about 4 hours, we paid $89 Ca; it takes in many local sights and includes a guided walk in this beautiful forested area. Some of the places the bus stops at have toilet facilities.
The passion that both Joseph and Caroline feel for their heritage is infectious - tour highly recommended.

While it’s nice to have cruise ship-sponsored shore excursions to choose from, we sometimes find a richer experience and better value with an independent local guide. But who can you trust to get you back to the boat in time? In Sanguenay Bay, Quebec you can definitely count on www.Fjordetmonde.ca.

It was a cool, sunny morning in October (2012) and we’d booked online for a 4-hour mini-bus tour. The owner/driver Joseph tooj us along a beautiful route dotted with points of interest both historical and artistic. First stop, just pst the ha! ha! pyramid and right on the bay where modern statues of whales decorated the coast, he pointed out another, older statue of a sower, in commemoration of the farmers who colonized Sanguenay. It was one of Joseph’s ancestors!

Our guide, Jean Huot, spoke perfect English and told about all we drove past or stopped at, from early history till today. Plus, he could easily answer just about any question we had.

On the way to the national park, we pulled over at a display of locally created crèche scenes. Carved, sculpted or hammered out of local materials, the stop was charming and made for some memorable photos. Joseph is a photographer himself (check out the website) so he has an eye for what will look good in the lens.

Out of all the tours that left the ship, we were the only ones who got to hike around (easy hike) at a fjord lookout. We also stopped at a local bakery, and Joseoph treated us to a pan of something traditional – I forget the name exactly but it was pie crust cut from the edge and swirled around with brown sugar, butter and maple syrup. OMG. We could tell they were a favorite of Joseph’s, too.

Another treat was a stop at the old covered bridge. At the end of the bridge a handful of Herfordshires were out grazing so Joseph stopped the bus for photos. Later we had 25-minutes of free time to roam around, taking shots of Canada Geese on the bay, kayakers going out and the tide coming in. Jean told us all about the tides, then back on the bus he played a fascinating video about how they work, and how they bring food for whales right into the fjord.

The guys also played a fun song using all native words, and another about a local meat pie made with moose or deer meat, onions and herbs. Forgot the name of the dish, but the song was fun!

The tour flew by and we found at the end that we’d seen the best stuff around. Thanks Joseph and Jean for a great day in Sanguenay!

We recently on a cruise which included a visit to the Saguenay Fjord, the trips on the cruise were very expensive so we decided to arrange our own day trip and what a fantastic decision that was! Picking us up right outside the cruise terminal, Joseph and his english speaking guide gave us a day to remember, they know the area so well and took us to many places that larger tour buses can't manage to get to. Can highly recommend

What a day (tour).
This tour was about the fjord of Saguenay. Joseph know very well the (his) fjord.
He takes the time to share everything he know about the Fjord. Very important he is going at the clients speed. My father is 80 years old and he walk very slowly, he really enjoyed. My parent likes a lot his surprises that he give us.

We did not know if we want a bus tour or a boat tour.
This company offers 2 tours in one. It's a 6 hours tour with 45 minutes boat tour to Cap Éternité. He never stop talking he always has something to share to the client.
There is a short video clip about Notre-Dame du Saguenay. We listen some music from Saguenay.

He make sure that everybody understood. You forgot your botle of water, he always bring extra ones at no cost. The bus driver he is always there on time to pick up the client.
