just back from 2 weeks at the astreas apartments, can't think of anything wrong with it, best thing was not having to get up at stupid o'clock to get a sunbed!! even at midday you could still get a bed, perhaps people go to the beach more as it's so close to fig tree bay. safe 2 euros a day, aircon 6 euros which we didn't bother with as it's only in the bedroom but after the first night we did hire a fan for 2 euros a day, perfect view of the beach, tho there is the car park which tends to get the kids on quad bikes using it a race track of an evening. nice little swim up pool bar and the water wasn't freezing!! bakery/snack bar was nice for mid day snack. as your off the strip there's no noise of an evening but you are literally 100 yards away. reception very friendly and helpful, we checked in online for our return flight and they printed of our boarding cards for us. free wi fi in lobby area, lots of sofas there, maid were in every day to clean and towels/ beds changed every 2/3 days. the only down side is that at weekends you get the locals? using the pool, taking up the beds then going of to the beach for hours, but as long as you have a bed by about 10 your'll be ok.. nice little block for families or couples, would defo recommend these

Me and my boyfriend stayed here May 2012 for 1 week. We found the location was perfect as the hotel is practically on the beach and is a very short walk onto the main strip of bars and restaurants.
The reception staff were very welcoming from the start of our holiday to the end and the maid service was excellent with our towels and beds changed daily. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed, fridge/freezer, oven & hobbs, Etc.
We paid 40 Euros for aircon for the week(20 Euro deposit which we got back at the end). There was also a safety deposit box available for 30 Euros for the week which we didnt take up.
As we were there early in the season the pool bar wasnt open for the whole week we were there which we were a little bit disapointed with but there was a hotel bar and bakery which was open throughout the day that could of been used instead. (In season this wouldnt have been a problem anyway).
There was also a big car park outside the hotel which came in handy when we rented a car for a few days of our holiday.
In the hotel reception area there is free WIFI available which we didnt relise until near the end of our holiday so we would of liked to have be informed of this by recepetion. However there is a sign up in the reception area we maybe should of taken more notice!
Overall we had a fantastic holiday at Asteas Beach Hotel and would definatly recommend :)

Just got back yesterday from 10 days at Astreas. The location of the apartments is fantastic, close enough to the bars and restaraunts but far enough away that a good night sleep can be had! As we were there early in the summer season some of the hotel facilities were in the middle of being set up but he friendly staff couldn't do enough for you to make sure you were relaxed and happy. During the trip I needed to see a doctor and the reception staff were absolutely fantastic in arranging me transport to the local clinic and checking how I was everyday following.

Rooms are basic but have everything you needed for a hassle free self catering holiday and the maids were fantastic, keeping the apartment spotless throughout the whole 10 days.

Bus service to other parts of the Island were fantastic and well worth hopping on and doing some exploring. Only 3 euros for an all day pass!

All in all a very enjoyable holiday! The 'Yia Mas' bar just up from hotel deserves a special mention as George and his girls were incredibly entertaining! Also Nikolas' Tavern also well worth a visit, brilliant food and a warm welcome.

I was amazed with people, hotel, weather and clarity of water. i was sooooo relaxed after that trip and full of energy to work after 5 days only in cyprus. i was hoping that i could extend my stay but, not possible. So, I will go there a gain in 2012.
food options was limited on pork and chicken. fish was a bit pricy!

Room Tip: there was no breakfast included so, keep some money to buy from the grocery store ;)

I hope this review helps as it is an honest opinion of our stay... The high and lows!... But to be honest it was fantastic! You aren't paying for a 4/5 star hotel, neither are you paying for it, so don't expect it.. But for what you pay it's fantastic! The staff are so helpful and friendly, our air conditioning wasn't great in our room do they gave us two large fans for our room.. We lost our lilo so the groundskeeper found 2 and gave us them bless him! Maid is lovely and cleaned everyday. The bakery in the hotel is gorgeous, the food is delicious! The location is the best on the strip in my opinion. It's right on fig tree bay beach (best beach in Cyprus) it's beautiful and full of water sports and bars and ice cream bars. The hotel is right at the beginning of the strip so it's great to walk up every night starting with the quieter bars gradually getting louder! You have to try olympus restaurant, best on there for a wonderful steak. Ayia napa is just 5mins in a taxi away, don't bother going the aquarium just outside protaras, waste of money lol. All in all we loved our time there.
