If we hadnt been to cyprus before we would never have returned again.
We arrived at 10.45pm , quite a nice guy on reception, as we were all inclusive we expected maybe a welcome drink or a sandwich......something to make you feel welcome!!!! We had a little walk round the pool area where the bar was and a miserable looking man said" If you want a drink have it now , I am closing the bar! We ordered a drink and was charged for it as the All Inclusive ended at 11pm. it was 11.01pm...Mean! and very welcoming...not.
We squeezed into the lift and went to our apartment. Very Very basic and the view was of dustbins and a waste bit of ground with a broken chair despite us asking for a pool view when booking. The mattresses were very thin and uncomfortable. the rooms really do need bringing into the 21st century. Breakfast was crap......not much choice , no fruit or proper fruit juice (you have to pay for that) and miserable looking staff. the sun beds were an accident waiting to happen ! The evening meal was no better , 4 dishes fish , meat, Spag Bol without the meat, and salad, dessert was a sponge pudding or a rice pudding,or ice cream that was only served with the evening meal, to be quite honest we have served up much more to people on the streets working with crisis!
So not really much going for it. please dont waste your hard earned cash on this 1 star hotel, we spoke to othe people that were very dissapointed with the A.I Package.........most had to go out for evening meals. You are only served Half a pint and Fresh squeezed juices Frappes, milkshakes and special coffees ( latte /cappaccino)are not A.I.
We walked out and stayed at The Rising Star Apartments in Protaris which we can highly recommend, a roomy apartment overlooking Protaris withn B/b which was excellent, if you choose to do your own food the apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. And the staff were lovely. Totally different atmosphere.
So If you want a Happy Holiday DONT GO TO THE NARCISSOS HOTEL APTS! Try some of the other wonderful places in Cyprus.......we can recommend The Silver Sands hotel and The Olympic Lagoon.......The food is really all A.I.and very tasty too.

Thank you for your review with trip advisor. Having different types of rooms with different location and views, it's understandable for our guests to have different preferences. Based on that, we always change rooms should our guests request so but in your case you haven't. Regarding the A/I, on arrival all our guests receive all the information including times. The Bar never closes before 12 midnight but yes the A/I finishes at 11 pm. For our guests that are arriving late on the arrival day we always extent the A/I on their departure day to cover the lost hours and I know that was the case with your selves. For breakfast we provide on a daily basis 8 hot dishes some of which are fried and boiled eggs, baked beans, bacon, warm bread rolls, potatoes, courgettes. Further more 3 types of yoghurt, 2 fresh fruits, cake, 4 types of bread, 5 different cold cuts vegetables and many more. You should not forget that Narcissos is only Hotel apartments category A' and not a 5 star hotel. If all above breakfast items are 'crap', then I am sorry that our breakfast and buffets can only 'meet the expectations of people on the streets'. Going through all the reviews one can easily tell that our staff is our asset for been so friendly and hospitable but at the same time I appreciate individual views. I have check all our records and I did not find a single complain from you during your 10 day stay with us.I regret if your experience was not the one the majority of our clientele is receiving during their stay with us.

Me and my boyfriend just returned from a week staying at the Narcissos hotel in Protaras. No real big complaints it was a good value for money hotel with spacious rooms and a big pool. All facilities were basic and the hotel was dated, however it was clean and for the money very comfortable for a week.

Food was on a buffet and tasted nice although the selection of food on offer was much of the same every night and sometimes a bit random, potato chips for breakfast and courgettes? Our hotel room was much bigger than I expected and had a separate lounge area with kitchette and balcony which over looked the sea and pool. Bathroom doesnt have a plug in it but if you request it at the reception they have a tub full of plugs which you can take one for the week. (not sure why!)

There were two airconditioning units in the apartment one of them didnt work in our room but the one in the bedroom did work although was incredibly loud. The TV in the room had limited channels and if you wanted a remote again this had to be requested from the reception.

Hotel entertainment was limited but we didnt mind as we just wanted a quiet dinner each evening. On the Tuesday was a greek night, with traditional dancing, with audience participation.. some of the guests seemed to quite enjoy it. You have to be relatively daring to get involved in the one I saw a lady was asked to catch a glass of water which was thrown at her and she got soaked and then almost fell off her chair! Plus the greek lady who was dancing dropped a pot and it smashed on the floor, which we didnt think was part of the act :-S

The location was a little bit disappointing as we found out on the first night, a walk into protaras took about 25 mins. A direct journey on the main road outside which is well lit and has plenty of bus stops on the way if you choose to take it instead. (1 Euro each way during the day and 2.50 Euros after 11pm). Taxis approx 8 euros each way.

Ive been to Protaras previously so knew what to expect on the main strip, plenty of bars and restaurants suited to cater for English Holiday makers. It has changed a bit since the last time I was there with more bars and new hotels! All the bars and most restaurants showed premiership football so no matches missed either. The food is not authentic greek food as other greek resorts ive been to but still to a good standard.

We visited Pernera as my parents were staying in that area and they had plenty of lovely restaurants and a couple of bars but it was much quieter and more for couples not wanting night life. (although it is just as close if not nearer to Protaras as the Narcissos hotel) There is a very nice beach there too which we went snorkelling in.

We would not go to this hotel again mainly for the location but will no doubt be back to visit Protaras again in the future to visit my Greek Cypriot family.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the pool have sea view, ours was 321 at the end of the top floor so had great views.

We have noted your comments and rest assured that we'll spare no effort in improving. Regarding the Cyprus dance show please note that dropping and smashing the pot it is part of the show. Thank you again for your valuable comments.

Stayed there with the family for more than 2 weeks in Septemebr. Very good experience. The staff is very friendly and kind. May be the furniture is a bit worn put, yet the location and tidyness of the hotel is very good. Quiet location, close to the best beaches. Had a good time!

Stayed for 1 week with my teenage son, on the last week of August. I had asked for, and got a room with a pool view, which was good, as the view from the other side of the hotel was of a building site.
The room had a small kitchenette, a living area, balcony, twin bedroom and bathroom. It was very big, and very clean and had a full clean every day. The decor was a bit worn, and the air conditioning noisy, but I guess it was end of the year. Safety deposit box was good at 9 Euros per week.
Small beach about 400 yards away, which was lovely, but down hill, and a bit of a climb back up for some.
Couple of shops outside hotel, but not a lot else in the immediate area. However, a great bus service from outside hotel, which took us to Protaras and Ayia Napa a few times, as well as various other places along the way.

Hotel entertainment was a bit tame, and finished by 8.30 - 9pm every night, although I think this was the same for all hotels in the area.

The Thompson rep was very nice, but seemed clueless about the hotel, and the area. She wasn't there when she said she would be, and when she was, we found her unable to answer basic questions about the hotel and surrounding area.
She couldn't even tell us whether it was ok to flush the toilet paper in the hotel!

Plenty of sunbeds around pool, whatever time of day, and the hotel seemed very quiet in numbers of guests.
We stayed 1 week half board, and as we arrived at 3am, were told our half board would start the next morning (obviously). However, on the last day, we were told that, although we weren't leaving until 9 or 10pm, and had paid extra for late checkout room, we could not have our 7th Evening meal, meaning the the half board was only 6 days of the 7 we had paid for!
After complaining, we were told that the manager would give us a lunch voucher, but as we had booked a trip on our last day, (with lunch included) this would be no good! Additionally, we would need, and had counted on a dinner before leaving for our night flight!
Despite appeals, explanations of the trip we'd booked and complaints, the staff would not relent, and we were told if we wanted dinner, we would have to pay an extra 13 Euros each. There was no sense to this, being as lunch and dinner were both hot/cold buffets, (and we had paid for half board, which was classed a breakfast and dinner) so it's not as if they would have to prepare an 'extra' meal!

The food, in general was quite good, if repetitive. The drinks at the bar were very expensive.

For the most part, the staff were very pleasant and the hotel was generally 3 star standard with great sized rooms and cleaning service.
However, the dinner episode and the refusal of the manager to allow us the dinner we had paid for (with no good explanation given) spoiled the whole stay for us, and ensured we will not return - other guests in the same position said the same. Even the all inclusive people weren't allowed dinner on their last day, despite not getting the full 7 days they'd paid for!

Shame really, but if this was hotel policy, we should have been told on booking, instead of on out last day, when we'd already made plans the day! An explanation of the reasons, particularly as it was just a hot/cold buffet affair, would have been nice!

Room Tip: Request room with a pool view - these are great, but the back of the hotel is a derelict building si...

Have rated it 4 stars based on my expectations (based on its star rating) and the overall experience. I had a great holiday here and would happily stay again.

Hotel: The hotel was clean and relatively good condition. Staff were polite and helpful. The pool area is very nice, some sunbeds were due for retirement though.

Rooms: These were clean and well kept, evything worked well. AC wasn't the best but we still appreciated the cool air. The rooms were FULLY cleaned every day, house service staff were very accomodating.

We had a studio room and the fridge, sink and hob were clean. We had two electric hob hot plates and enough basic cookware to feed ourselves.

Food: We ate from the breakfast buffet and from the main menu at lunch and bothe were good. Breakfast selections was ok, we may have arrived a little late to see it at its best.

Extras: I wouldn't expect this all the time but we got home on the evening of my partner's birthday and a bottle of sparkling wine in an ice bucket had been left by the hotel. I hadn't asked at all but they must have seen her DOB on her passport when we checked in a few days before. I thought this was excellent customer service.

first time at this hotel, staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms clean and spacey, fridge, toaster and kettle in every room, it also had an air condition in every room without extra charge. Breakfast was plenty and a good variety. It had entertainment every night. Supermarket just 2 minutes walk from the hotel which was very handy. It had plenty beds around the pool.

This is one of the WORST hotels I have stayed in we arrived 12.30 am to a man half asleep at reception no welcome just gave us our key didn't show us where to go to our room ! The lift is so small and will not accomodate a double pushchair so glad we didn't take one !! the food was awful well I suppose it would be nice if you like to just eat salad over cooked dry pork , awful fish and chicken ! The rooms were ok beds awful and hard but clean. The entertainment !!! Well I could of done better myself there is a crappy parrot show on for 15 mins wow. But this was cancelled on the second week so no entertainment. A magic show that will blow you away (not) . A man who you can not understand trying to sing and pretending to play the keyboard (just think Ross off of friends with his keyboard) and then two people sing awfully at you whilst you try to eat your dinner! We went all inclusive but was absolute crap I would never come here again neither would I recommend to anyone unless they were German or Russian !! As there the only other people who go ! Could not wait to go home !

Thank you for your comments even though I don't think they are realistic. Having guests with different nationalities we need to provide such services in order to please all of them. We are not classified as hotel but hotel apartments and based on what our guests are paying we believe we offer value for money. We provide 3 times per week live music and either 1 or 2 shows. The majority of our guests find our entertainment programme enjoyable and of good quality but obviously everybody has different likes. We regret if your stay with us was not the expected.
