What more can I say. Since we ' found ' the Debbiexenia, we would not go anywhere else , yes it's basic but for those of you who complain! about the size of your pans etc!! you need to realise the 'ratings' system in Cyprus, or any other country come to that, is not the same as the UK. The same goes for the standards ... It's all part of the hol experience and what's more, you can pay a LOT more and get a LOT LESS, by staying anywhere other than the Debbiexenia, even locally in Penera. Yes certain things could be better but we have been in a LOT worse places, for more money, and the same rating places as well I can tell you. Added to where you stay, the building, there's a lot more to it than that. Most importantly in a foreign country, you benefit from the staff...especially if anything needs sorting or you need any help, as often arises as can be expected abroad...and here at the Debbiexenia is where you completely win !! You cannot in our option get nicer, more helpful staff. Nicos and his wife the owners, Nikos the night and bar man , and all the general staff are more than helpful with anything you might need or want. Nothing is too much trouble..( as others have noted ) ..and that goes a LONG long way in a foreign country..as some will surely attest too. Again, the place in our opinion cannot be beaten... Improvements are made each year, so it gets better and better...and as a location, you cannot best it . And as for something no one has any control over, the weather, well, - it's too hot !!!! ;). ( Mike & Carole )

Room Tip: Every room is great , viewing the pool. Fully wheel chair friendly ( which we need ) local shop for...

We were looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful that we could use as a base for a friends wedding and that's exactly what we got . If you are looking for chic quality and plush surroundings look somewhere else . The owner and staff were friendly and extremely helpful ( he went and bought us a brand new hairdryer for my wife so she could get ready for the wedding ) . Breakfast and snacks were tasty and service was excellent . The bedroom and bathroom were adequate but the kitchen is not up to self catering . Pool area was quiet and clean . The hotel is just tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the town but centrally located for beach , bars and restaurants .

Where to begin... One small pan (to boil one egg only) possibly known as a milk pan?? Washing up bowl to wash an egg cup only (didn't know they made one so tiny). Frying pan had no non stick left and could only manage one slice of bacon at a time. Although after approaching staff following morning, we were given a normal size shiny new non stick frying pan. Only three matches supplied upon arrival in the early hours of the morning. Room and bed linen and towels changed only once within the week of staying Toaster, Microwave, Hair dryer, T.V and air con only available for hire daily/weekly basis. All a bit of a shock upon arrival. Disappointed with accomodation very basic indeed. Location was the only plus side.

Just arrived back from a holiday on the 6th October. When we arrived at 1.30 am we had been travelling from the north of Scotland since 5AM, I just wanted to relax so asked what time the bar closed, was told Oh we are open 24/7. Brill so we dumped suitcases and went to have an Ouzo, and relax. This hotel is very basic which reflex the price, but the friendly people who own it,is worth it. Nicos speaks perfect english which helps when problems arise. Breakfast at the hotel very cheap. Bdroom separate and it also has a BATH! They all have balconies too and we could just see the sea. The beach is not far and a lovely fishing harbour where the tour boats stop. Pernera has plenty of bars and eating places.

Just got back last night from these apartments, we had a lovely 12 day stay, basic apartments, 2 gas rings, gas kettle ( we took our own travel kettle), small old battered fridge (does the job though), pool lovely and immaculately clean,2 elderly guys take pride and care every morning cleaning it plus they tend the pool area and gardens, watched them from my balcony every morning, beds fine, mattresses were clean and looked fairly new, 1 pan, 1 frying pan usual cups and pots supplied, patio table and chairs on patio which doesn't get sun after about 10am as not a south facing block, however, open the entrance door and do what we did, we took our chairs out in corridor where the sun shines when we came back in the late afternoon.

I was surprised to read that room wasn't cleaned in a weeks visit, our room was mopped and bins emptied every day except Sundays, bedding was changed about 4 times during our stay and towels about the same, we were very pleased about the cleanliness? Towels were really faded BUT you could smell the washing detergent on them and could tell they were clean, toilet rolls were provided.

The local supermarkets are extremely expensive better to seek out local l Lidle in Protarus if you have a car, we didn't bother, we ate out mostly, the apartments are close to all amenity's and beach, lovely quiet place, staff very pleasant, you could buy drinks and small snacks from the reception bar. No complaints about these super apartments....Just to add, buses cheap and regular, food wise not too bad to eat out, we liked the Freshhouse just round the corner and the little bars by the walk through on the front to Protarus. Nighttime. we walked into Protarus (along the walkway which is lit up whilst dark and only a twenty min walk) and the Western Star (had some nice nights here, we cannot abide Elvis but the tribute guy who does it here is amazing, I was mesmerized by him, he's on Sundays and Acoustic Mushroom was really good, great singer/guitar player and lovely bloke, down in Protarus, we enjoyed Reeves bar, they do Karaoke, have artists on and play good modern music I enjoyed a couple of boogies here, also, you'll pass the Rising Sun as you come off the path and into the bar area, we enjoyed the Robbie tribute here. All in all we had a lovely time and would not hesitate to do exactly the same again, it was fantastic swimming in the sea in October...

Room Tip: We had room 201, it is on the right hand side with area outside door to sit in sun in late afternoon...
