Just returned from 11 days at the Anastasia, only wished could have booked for longer. The food was fantastic, we did plan to go out for a couple of meals but each night the menu sounded too good to miss and it really didn't disappoint! Lots of choice at breakfast which finishes at 10, snacks start at 10.30 toasted sandwiches were good the one day we were too late for breakfast, lunch was again good plenty choice, lots of salad and fruit, mid afternoon snacks start at 3, burgers nuggets etc. Dinner was great, the soups and rolls were really good, I’ve heard reviews about too much Pork, but this was not the case there was a fish option or 2 every night, some pork but also chicken and beef, the joints cooked on the carvery were very good, only problem was it all looked so good we quickly got into the habit of having to go up again for seconds, there was also a nice choice of cold puddings and cheese and biscuits.
The drinks were also really good, plenty cocktails to choose from, Carlsberg and choice of wines, the kids cocktails were good too, Cinderella and Micky Mouse. Some of the staff did have problems understanding what a Spritzer was Wine and Lemonade however all staff were extremely hard working and very friendly.
The apartments were basic but very clean and spacious, we stayed in room 310 in the apartments and the music from the station pub was extremely loud and went on till well after 1am, which with a 3 year old was off putting, would recommend rooms overlooking pool especially with small children, however after a busy day we didn’t have any troubles getting to sleep.
The pool area was nice plenty sun beds, and the water park also great, 1.2M height restriction on the big slides daughter was disappointed to begin with however the smaller area more than kept her entertained. The Thomas cook entertainment team were very nice and energetic however it was a bit cheesy. Didn’t really have any dealings with the reps Neil and Demi however they were always about and seemed very helpful.
Its location really suited us, it’s a bit quieter than being right in Protaras but still plenty bars and people around, the beach is right across the road which was great for popping in an out of the sea, then there was a lovely coastal walk right round the bay to Protaras which we did many times to walk off some of those big meals!! The weather was well into 30 degrees.
A great holiday can’t wait to come back!!!
