“A great holiday cant wait to come back!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

Just returned from 11 days at the Anastasia, only wished could have booked for longer. The food was fantastic, we did plan to go out for a couple of meals but each night the menu sounded too good to miss and it really didn't disappoint! Lots of choice at breakfast which finishes at 10, snacks start at 10.30 toasted sandwiches were good the one day we were too late for breakfast, lunch was again good plenty choice, lots of salad and fruit, mid afternoon snacks start at 3, burgers nuggets etc. Dinner was great, the soups and rolls were really good, I’ve heard reviews about too much Pork, but this was not the case there was a fish option or 2 every night, some pork but also chicken and beef, the joints cooked on the carvery were very good, only problem was it all looked so good we quickly got into the habit of having to go up again for seconds, there was also a nice choice of cold puddings and cheese and biscuits.

The drinks were also really good, plenty cocktails to choose from, Carlsberg and choice of wines, the kids cocktails were good too, Cinderella and Micky Mouse. Some of the staff did have problems understanding what a Spritzer was Wine and Lemonade however all staff were extremely hard working and very friendly.

The apartments were basic but very clean and spacious, we stayed in room 310 in the apartments and the music from the station pub was extremely loud and went on till well after 1am, which with a 3 year old was off putting, would recommend rooms overlooking pool especially with small children, however after a busy day we didn’t have any troubles getting to sleep.

The pool area was nice plenty sun beds, and the water park also great, 1.2M height restriction on the big slides daughter was disappointed to begin with however the smaller area more than kept her entertained. The Thomas cook entertainment team were very nice and energetic however it was a bit cheesy. Didn’t really have any dealings with the reps Neil and Demi however they were always about and seemed very helpful.

Its location really suited us, it’s a bit quieter than being right in Protaras but still plenty bars and people around, the beach is right across the road which was great for popping in an out of the sea, then there was a lovely coastal walk right round the bay to Protaras which we did many times to walk off some of those big meals!! The weather was well into 30 degrees.

A great holiday can’t wait to come back!!!

Room Tip: Pool view a must rooms near station pub will be very noisy!

July 7th,

We would like to thank you for your positive comments about the Anastasia Hotel. Our breakfast provides a variety of cold and hot dishes, indeed our live cooking section, with fresh omelettes and pancakes. Plenty of variety, on our Buffets; after breakfast, lunch, afternoon and theme Buffets. The management and Staff want to keep our Clients satisfied. Pernera area, where the Hotel is located, its a quiet area, just 10 minutes walking distance from the center, still busy with a variety of Pubs and restaurants to go out.
The management and staff of the Hotel, will be happy to accommodate you at the Hotel's premises again.
Thank you.

We stayed at the Anastasia from 3 June for 1 week following our wedding in cape greco. We arrived a few hours before check in (in the hope we wouldn't have to hang around! ). Unfortunately there had been an issue in the apartments so they upgraded us to the hotel (sea views too!). We waited a short time until the room was ready then checked in (still earlier than expected). I felt they really bent over backwards to help us from the start. The reception is very impressive, it certainly gives the feel of a 4 star hotel and the staffs helpful friendly attitudes enhance it too.

We had interconnecting rooms. They are a decent size, and to be honest you only want them to shower change and sleep! The bathroom was modern, looked newly renovated but the rest of the room was dated. This was our only negative of the hotel. I assume, as the bathroom had been modernised, the rooms would be updated soon too. Aside from the age of the furnuture etc the rooms were spotless and the beds were made and towels changed daily. The bed was also very comfortable, with extra pillows and blankets if needed.

Bar staff were very friendly, fast and great with the kids! There measures in the cocktails are very generous too lol. You have lunch in the main restaurant near the pool. Lunches were fab. Loads of salad, olives and dips. They also had a selection of hot food, pasta , potatoes and meats and of course chips etc for the kids. There was also lots of puddings and fruit. I swear I had 4 puddings a day...so delicious! Breakfast and dinner were served in a lovely restaurant at the other end of the hotel. Seriously you are spoilt for choice. Breakfast is full English (proper sausages and fantastic fried eggs), cold meats and cheeses, yoghurt cereal and fruit. Dinner was like eating out every night. Amazing choice. There was a full roast most nights with different meats each time, pasta and rice dishes, lovely fresh veggies, chips again if u wanted, and salads and dips. Again at least 5/6 desserts. Again the staff we're very friendly at meal times and had a lot of time for the children. Ladies, if you're mad enough to be doing slimming world on holiday you wont struggle at all here :)

The water park was a nice addition, though only free to use for thompson holiday makers. However you can get discount vouchers in reception. However its called the Anastasia waterpark so I'd kinda expect it to be thrown in. You cant use you all inclusive there either. The kids enjoyed it though only went there once because they loved the main pool. Its massive! Nice and shallow for the toddlers at 1 end but goes to 2.2m at the other. Great for the kids diving etc. The staff are constantly collecting glasses etc so the area is nice to be in. There's a large grassed area surrounding the pool with plenty of sun beds. We never had to fight for a bed. We even got a hammock on some days! There was entertainment throughout the day. The staff worked really hard but to be honest we didn't really join in. Just wanted to chill.

The hotel has a great location. Nice chilled feel but there are shops bars and restaurants surrounding as well as a number of bays with shallow waters. Great for snorkeling! There is a water sports station just along the front, and a bit further on you can sail in the shirly valentine for €5. Great value. We went to famagusta and cape greco and had an amazing few hours.

I'd also recommend the Cyprus red bus tour into famagusta. You see the ancient walled city with its many ruins and also get within arms reach of the deserted town. Quite spooky but set on the most amazing white beach....where we swam with sea turtles!!!!!

The hotel is a 20 min walk from protaras and is busy day and night along the walk way. It is also a 3min walk from the bus stop. They run about every 20 minutes (cyprus time!).

The whole resort feels safe and friendly and we'll definitely go back there. Thank you to all of the staff who made our holiday so enjoyable.

Hotel lovely, Staff lovely, Food lovely, Reps lovely, Night time entertainment Absolute Garbage.
Everyone we spoke to around the hotel with the exception of a couple thought the same, so much so that after numerous complaints the entertainment was changed our 2nd week but still not really up to any sort of standard, even the bar staff and waiters were complaining.
Beautiful clean hotel though and I would highly reccomend if it wasnt for the entertainment which let the hotel down bigtime.

I have just returned from 11 nights at the anastasia beach complex in penera/protaras and what a a fantastic time me and my family had, the resort was beautiful, lovely hotel, friendly helpful staff, great family atmosphere throughout the hotel plus 12 days of pure sunshine. The Thomas cook reps Neil and Demi were great as we're all the entertainment staff, some people thought the entertainment Wernt the best but I'd say that was around 5% of guests opinion, to us it was great, we met some lovely people and had some great moments with them, the all inclusive was fantastic drink of all kinds available to you with impeccable service, the food wasn't a la carte but it was constant alday everyday, there was something for everyone, if you want to eat out try the blue spice restaurant or mojito..very nice places, other pluses were the waterpark free to Thomas cook guests, and pernera as a resort is a beautiful place, all in all I would give this hotel and experience 9.5 out of 10, the was one negative and I think that's a negative every English guest had was the russians,,they were rude, arrogant and vile people but you can't win them all can you, Liam,Nicola and Isla.

Room Tip: Go for a south facing room or just above the main entrance as you get the sea view and all afternoon...

Just got back from a week in this hotel and was very impressed. I have three children 3,7 and 13 and they won't shut up about the place and are asking when we are going back. The food is great and I am a very fussy eater there is hot food available as soon as you wake up until half nine / ten at night .
We never had a problem getting a sun bed and the pool area is constantly being cleaned . The entertainment team works so hard my kids loved them big thanks to beth,Holley,Dan, and anya from Danny Taylor and mia.
If you have booked this hotel or thinking of doing I would def recommend it especially with kids .
Please ignore the negative comments as I think people are just to fussy now days we had 2 rooms one facing the water park and one facing the road and noise was definitely not a problem I'm still trying to work out where the karaoke bar is because I didn't hear one.
Will be booking again for sure.
One suggestion would be to have a cash machine in the hotel or to be able to get euros on your visa card .

Thanks for a great time

Andrew and Carrie

Room Tip: Water park side is a nice view,

We stayed here in May and though the weather was not brilliant, we had a wonderful holiday at this hotel. We were here the week before the main season, so the aqua park was not open and the hotel was fairly quiet. The food was excellent with a good choice. I can honestly say that I enjoyed every meal I had there. Service at the bars was good. The pools were cold so I never went swimming outdoors but used the indoor pool which was a good alternative. There was not much in the way of entertainment probably because it was just prior to the main season but their entertainer did his best. The location of the hotel is excellent and there is a lovely walk along a promenade to the main town. We hired a car and went out, too and this is a good base. We all enjoyed our stay here and would thoroughly recommend it.

I got back from Protaras early this morning after a one week stay at Anastasia Beach Hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was cleaned daily and we had a fantastic ground floor 'Superior' room that looked out onto the hotel's waterpark.

The waterpark was brilliant and lifeguards were professional and a lot of fun.

The hotel pool got really busy but there is a beach close by and of course the waterpark which you can access if you have a wrist band.

The food was exceptional. It was mainly Cypriot food which was fantastic as it made a change from the usual English crap you can end up with in some hotels. There were of course the usual complainers who weren't happy about the Cypriot menu, but then why go abroad if your not going to enjoy the culture?!! There was a roast dinner on Friday which was nice but I didn't go abroad to have a roast dinner but enjoyed it nonetheless as the meat was cooked to perfection and veg were delicious.

There was a lot of Russians in the hotel who are quite rude and arrogant and don't get the concept of queuing for anything ever!!

The hotel is ideal for kids as there was excellent entertainment throughout the day for children and of course the waterpark is ideal too. Kids also have their own area for their meals.

The lunches were served buffet style in the pool bar and was a choice of meat, chicken nuggets, chips, pizza, breads and a salad bar too. After lunch there was a snack bar with pizza, chips, chicken nuggets, fish fingers and burgers.

I had a very chilled out holiday and would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was fantastic.

Room Tip: The superior rooms have sunbeds on the balcony/terrace!
