“Perfect for families with kids - not for couples or singles”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 20, 2012

The focus of this place is entirely families with kids - and they do a good job at that. If you are traveling as a couple or by your self don't go here! The food is decent - buffet with different themes each day, but with many recurring items. The service from the staff is good and prompt. The flats are nice and clean. One thing I appreciate is good wi-fi access. At this hotel you get fine access for free in the pool area and reception area. In the rooms you have to pay for wi-fi access.

Pros
+Smaller hotell than Im jused to and not to crowded.
+Very close the beach with loong beach walks.
+Alot of watersports and many spa/massage places.
+Great food we got breakfast and dinner included.
+All inclusive is with drinks
+Shows and staff work hard to please you.
+Very quite after 22 at night.
+Not far from Aiya Napa.
+Prices seems lower than other places like Spain.

Con
-Not for party people, its for kids/family and old couples.
- Very poor tv channels, does not bother me.
-Some very nice beaches but very rocky outside the main beaches.
-I think older kids like 13/14 or older will find it a bit boring, maybe.
-I find the AC a bit to loud in the rooms.
-No free WIFi in the rooms but free access at pools. This is 2012 I expect free WIFI for 4 stars hotell at this price!

Ill recommend the area for no party people and small kids. You will see alot of kids all over the place:)

Dear guest,

Thank you for having chosen to stay at the Louis Althea Beach and for posting a review on Tripadvisor.

We are delighted to hear that you liked our hotel's perfect location - very close to the beach - that you admired the different activities, such as watersports as well as the many spa/massage places, and that you were pleased with our food on offer. Thank you also for appreciating the hard work of our staff members including the entertainment/animation team, who organized nice shows and activities. It is nice to see that you appreciated the fact that it was quiet after 22.00 and that you considered our hotel good value for money, especially compared to hotels in other European countries. We are sorry to hear that you found the noise of the air-conditioning a bit loud in the rooms and that you were not pleased with the fact that the internet was not free of charge (except at the pools). We realized that only a small percentage actually make use of Internet. For this reason we have excluded the charges for this facility from the room price, in order to offer our guests even better value for money.

We are grateful to you for particularly recommending us to families with children and it was our pleasure having you here at the Louis Althea Beach. We hope that you will soon gratify us or one of our other beautiful Louis Hotels with a return visit.

Best regards

Ordered this trip through Finnmatkat, and the hotel had very good reviews on their web page. Especially for families travelling with kids. It boasts as being a 4-star resort and at first glance you would agree. Let's start with the good:
- Great location close to the see, with a small own sand/stone beach, but more importantly a fantastic beach just 4 minutes walk to the East (and a decent one 5 minutes in the other direction.
- Nice staff,, service-minded.
- Generous breakfast with enough choices, and local twists too.... (Did not do the AI, but tried the snack menu upon arrival which was quite mediocre. However people here praise the lunches/dinners...
- Two pools of decent size, with one of them (the newer) a bit cooler than the (older) other.
- enough space for all guests, but can be a bit crowded on peak hours around and inside the old pool...
- Quite spatious rooms.

So what was that other 1/3 - the bad- all about?
- room not ready upon arrival, only got in at 3.30PM, waiting for over 90 minutes (but we did get drinkd and food as a compensation). This is the travel arrangers problem, partly: all rooms swap residents on the same day so cleaning takes a lot of time.
- The beds. More than one guest I spoke with had a hard time sleeping due to these dreadful beds. I was thinking of a 2 rate only for this reason, as a bad night means a bad day, it spoils your vacation... You simply have to upgrade the beds to be considered 4 star!!!
- cleaning was good when it happened, but only happened every other day. A plus thoug for changign the bed linen at half-week, that was a nice touch.

Conclusion: if you love your kids, and if you can sleep everywhere, no matter the bed, than this is a fine choice. If you want a true four star sleeping experience, go somewhere else kid-friendly.

I still have 3,5 days left, but since I know they won't change my bed, I can conclude already now.

Room Tip: Rooms to the east for more privacy, to the west for poolside action (roughly). Some rooms have seavi...

This family hotel is located in a quiet section of Protaras with just a few feet to the super clear ocean.

The area around the pool tended to get a bit crowded (but I've heard that for this summer there is a new pool area) but I always found a quiet area next to the beach instead.

Our room was a bit dented but clean. If we return I would probably head for the one room apartments next to the beach.

It is clear that the kitchen staff take pride in their work and the head chef was seen every day, tasting food, talking to the customers. Really nice!

If you're into shopping, it's a bit of a walk to Fig Tree Bay but there are small shops nearby.

In overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

Room Tip: New pool deck section is quieter if you're going for a pool view. One room apartments nearest to...

We stayed at the hotel one week in May. It's a so called Blue Village Hotel which means it's mainly for families. We knew that before so we were not supprised to see 95 % of the guests being families travelling with kids.

The hotels exterior is very nice. It looks like a small village. The property is not that big, the beach is close but nice.

Our apartment was one room. It had a smell of mold. My wife got allergic but we did not complain so we can't blame the hotel. The apartment was a bit outdated and in need of renovation. The hotel is built in 2003 so it's nearly ten years old.

The hotel has a tenniscourt which was good but the space behind the baseline is to short.

We didn't go AI but you could buy three dinners for 15 Euro per person and meal. That included the buffe and a pot of wine. The food was tasty and good but if you have been in Turkey you may be dissapointed in the amount of choices which was limited.

The staff were nice and the cleaning staff made their job well.

The entertainment is ok but directed mostly to the kids. If you are up late prepare to be alone because everybody else is sleeping.

Overall this is a good hotel but not a four star hotel. Thats generally because of the outdated apartments.
