Lovely little church, so great to see some authentic Cyprus after all the plastic on Protaras strip... The steps aren't too bad and there are some seating perches on the way up. The memorial trees and church and views certainly make it worth your while. Nice to see a little shop at the top if you want a soft drink after your effort!
Would definitely recommend...

having been to the church before wanted to take my husband this time and it was just as beautiful a before. the views are magnificent, and they light it up at night,i must of forgot that there is 160 steps to climb but it is worth it, you can light a candle for a donation and you put your money in a whole in the wall,

Lots of steps to get to the top, but well worth it for the view alone. The church itself is lovely with a beautiful painted ceiling and a tranquil area inside. There are a couple of trees outside with things tied to them to remember loved ones.

We climbed up the 142 steps to the Church of Profitis Elias, we went quite early in the morning before it got too hot,it was well worth it, the church is really pretty, very small, but has a very serene atmosphere. The views are stunning too. there is a small giftshop, selling trinkets and ribbons to tie on the trees and bushes at the top, lovely place.

The walk to the church from Protaras is short. It is well worth the climb to the top of the hill to view the beautiful church and the surrounding views. It is an ideal place to take photographs and to view the coloured ribbons on the trees outside the church.
