“say a prayer”
Reviewed October 17, 2013

having been to the church before wanted to take my husband this time and it was just as beautiful a before. the views are magnificent, and they light it up at night,i must of forgot that there is 160 steps to climb but it is worth it, you can light a candle for a donation and you put your money in a whole in the wall,

“Worth the hike up all the steps”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Lots of steps to get to the top, but well worth it for the view alone. The church itself is lovely with a beautiful painted ceiling and a tranquil area inside. There are a couple of trees outside with things tied to them to remember loved ones.

“Well worth the climb”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

We climbed up the 142 steps to the Church of Profitis Elias, we went quite early in the morning before it got too hot,it was well worth it, the church is really pretty, very small, but has a very serene atmosphere. The views are stunning too. there is a small giftshop, selling trinkets and ribbons to tie on the trees and bushes at the top, lovely place.

“Lovely Church with great view of the countryside.”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

The walk to the church from Protaras is short. It is well worth the climb to the top of the hill to view the beautiful church and the surrounding views. It is an ideal place to take photographs and to view the coloured ribbons on the trees outside the church.

“Pat & John Visit”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

Visit every year since 2004. Lots of steps until you reach the top (must be over 100) where the church is. Well worth it when you finally reach the top to see the view over protaras. Prayer trees there where people tie anything from ribbons to photographs to shoelaces etc in memory of loved ones. Nice little church where you can also light a candle and there is now a small gift shop there and a place to buy a bottle of water or soft drink.
