“A brilliant hotel with brilliant staff”
Reviewed November 11, 2012

Wow what can we say, we booked this hotel for 10 days in late October through Thomsons.

The transfer time from the Airport was about 40 mins by Taxi, which was all good.

On arriving at the hotel we were greeted by a doorman who took our luggage off us & escorted us to reception where we were greeted by a very friendly / proffessional receptionist. I was begining to think this was all going too well, but we got checked in within 5 mins & we were shown to our sea view swim up junior suite.

The room itself was very nice with a 7ft wide bed, fantastic rainfall shower, seperate lounge with big screen TV. The toiletries were l'occitane which are descent quality, along withrobes & slippers. The room was serviced every day by a polite member of staff, with a turn down service whilst you were out on an evening.

The system of allocating sunbeds is superb & takes alot of the sunbed wars stress out of the holiday. This really should be a system adopted by other hotels.

We were allowed to eat at various venues as part of our Half Board package, we ate in the Hotel sometimes which was very nice (no beans & chips here, no chips at all). Good presentation & a good choice of fresh food every night. Other times we opted for the free three course steak meal at the REEF bar at the hotel next door.

Live acoustic guitarist played on a night during your evening meal, then provided live music in the Bar after. He was very good.

Breakfast was brilliant , you could help yourself or have the chef cook you a fresh omlette to your liking.

The Hotel was great but the staff were exceptional, very polite, very attentive overall superb. The staff were a mixture of Polish, Greek , Cypriot etc all spoke superb English.

The Swim up room pool was cold , but the view was nice.

The resort itself was nice with a mix of shops & Bars. Pizza Hut , Macdonalds KFC etc we grabbed a Burger or two at Macdonalds as the food was very fresh with great service unlike the slurry and bad service we get in the UK (UK should look to Cyprus to see how its done)

On the whole a very nice place to stay.

Room Tip: Get a room with sea view

We were upgraded for a week from the Sunrise Beach hotel in early October 2012. This hotel was being built when we honeymooned here last year so it was a lovely surprise to see that it was already receiving guests. Just to be brief, the hotel was spotless but then it is only 3 months old. The food was pure quality, the location was perfect and the full sea view room we had was high tech with all the modern touches. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of going here.

Room Tip: Try and get a full sea view room on the 2nd floor or above otherwise you could find yourself at the...

This hotel was truly magnificent. My husband, 2 children and I stayed here mid September and it was so relaxing, we didn't want to leave. The hotel is brand new with all the mod cons and located on the main strip with several restaurants and souvenir shops. Even though the hotel, is on the noisy strip, the rooms are actually quiet. The hotel, despite being on the beautiful beach, has several pools and even one for adults only. Now that was nice. The restaurants are all beautiful and the quality of the food and service too was superb. The hotel is exceptionally clean. I don't think that even bacteria can survive here. Glykeria on reception was outstanding and always with a ready smile. Since the hotel is still new, about 3 months new, we needed a towel rack in 1 of the bathrooms and a soap dispenser so whilst we were out, she made sure they were put in immediately. Having said that, how many hotels have you been to where the bathroom towels are actually soft and smell nice. You only have to ask and they cater. The rooms were very well thought out, right down to the miniature built in wall clothesline on the balcony. We loved the idea of allocated beach chairs and for those with suites, you also had a poolside cabana too. Even the beach towels were a decent size and folded over your chairs. An afternoon treat was a nice surprise when the staff would wonder around with a tray of sliced fruit. Don't bother staying anywhere else. This is the place to stay when in Protaras. If there were 6 stars available, this place would get them.

Room Tip: Go for beachfront. Otherwise, all rooms in this hotel are beautiful.

Previous review from LikeToTravel100 is absolutely spot on and tells you everything you need to know. We too booked for a week of late sun-directly with hotel on a B&B basis. Breakfast selection and quality excellent and the Fishbone Restaurant by the sea is fabulous, albeit very quiet during our stay in the last week of October. Brand new, high spec hotel with great staff everywhere. Pools are lovely, loungers are reserved for period of stay so no hassle and nice sandy beach with clear warm sea directly in front of hotel.
The Sunrise Beach next door, whose facilities are available, is livelier and looks more child friendly and has a good atmosphere.
Absolutely cannot fault the hotel in any way and wouldn't want to as the staff are so obliging!
As an aside if you are booking your trip directly, a key attraction to us is being able to book a BA flight out of Heathrow and, as we like to explore the country beyond the hotel we usually hire a car via Avis at the same time! The Ford Focus equivalent we collected turned out to be a very tired Kia which had more scratches on the bodywork than paint remaining. By the time we saw it, we had already signed up for the additional insurance to reduce the excess. Worse still, the car comes with a full tank of petrol which you have to pay for whether you use it or not! We drove over 300km, armed with a guide book, and found nothing of interest! So, don't hire a car from Avis before making other enquiries.
If you like a quality hotel based holiday in the sun this hotel ticks all the boxes at a great price.

Room Tip: Weird a deluxe sea view room on the fourth floor which was great. Not sure the rooms which have priv...

The quick review for the hotel and resort is... Great hotel with excellent service, bang in the centre of the protaras "strip" which consists of many Brit bars.

For more details read on....

We booked a week in protaras after looking for a hot week in the sun in Oct to celebrate my partners birthday.
October can be a hard month to find "heat" so In previous years we've been to Sharm, Marrakech, Agadir and wanted a change.
Cape Verde, Mexico came up as new options as did cyprus... I was a little cautious due to weather cooling off in med, but the forecast was good and we found this hotel in cyprus flying from a local airport.... Happy days

The resort
It's very... British.. With pubs like "only fools & horses", cheers, friends, rockafella's. How British did surprise us, but being so close to ayia napa, maybe we should have guessed.
We prefer to go to more "local" resorts so this was a bit of a let down, but lots love it here and we got into it by the end.
There are lots of pubs, bars and restaurants and we even got in a game of crazy golf.
It was obviously the end of season as while busy, there was lots of room, the season ends here at the end of Oct, then it's a ghost town apparently... But the weather was spot on most the time 28-30 degrees.

The hotel
Finished in June this year, it's modern, clean, well thought out and stylish! Is it a 5 star?? Probably not, but a v good 4 star with Lovely touches.
We paid for a full sea view std room and couldn't fault it, worth the extra.
We were half board and the food options really good.. Buffet breakfast with a very wide choice, lunch by the pool and evening meal at the buffet, fish, greek, or american diner restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food and service, buffet can sometimes be repetitive and average ... Not here, changed nightly to a high standard. It was run VERY well by Antonios? He seemed to make sure all the guests were seated and served quickly.
We'd go back to the hotel in an instant, especially if it was relocated to a less Brit pub resort.

Hints
> On half board, If you want you can swap your evening meal for lunch
> aya napa is a 1 euro on 20 min bus rude or 14euro by taxi)
> Thimson rep booked diving with taba diving... DONT.. no buddy checks, crap breifing, vehichles with no beakes... shambles!
>Walk to pernera , turn left from the beach, more local choices
> share your celebrations with the hotel, we got somebsparkling wine to
Celebration my patners birthday
> it is iPod friendly BUT you need to bring a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable so you can plug in
> we liked the Malthoyse bar, especially when the guitar duo was on

Hope this has been helpful, if so please click yes :-)

I rested wit family at this hotel in July. Before the trip, we were worried that the hotel is not yet completed. I tracked all the comments and news. Called the hotel, They told me that as we arrived everything will be ready.
It was true. Hotel excellent, brand new!
Everything was great.
Great SPA.
Great beach.
Staff were excellent.

P.S. My son often says that he loves Pearl. :-)

Room Tip: Our room was 124. All equipment is new. Very quiet. Sea view.

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Sunrise Pearl.
We booked with Thomson's and everything from the start was easy and efficient, check in, flight and transfer.
Upon check in at the Sunrise Beach we were informed that we had been upgraded to the sister hotel the Sunrise Pearl and had also been upgraded to a room with a swim up pool.
We walked to the Sunrise Pearl (immediately next door) to be greeted by the exceptionally helpful and welcoming receptionist Vera.
Our room was wonderful, a king size bed, 42inch plasma on the wall, a large bathroom with his & hers basins, and a large rain shower.
Outside we had two sun loungers, a decked area and access to a shared pool, which was only accessed by five rooms.
The sunbed allocation is a wonderful idea, and takes the hassle out of the morning chaos!!
We were allocated two sunloungers around the "Adult Only" pool with views of the pool and beach.
The service at the hotel is impeccable and nothing is to much trouble for any member of staff.
We were always greeted with a friendly welcome from the staff at breakfast to the bar tender at the swim up bar who made the best Strawberry Daiquiri & Strawberry Milkshake.
The hotel grounds and hotel were exceptionally well kept.

Where to Eat:

We ate at the Tower on strip which was excellent and good value for money. The staff were amazing.

With regards to a drink in the evening before going out we would always walk across to the Sunrise Beach and enjoy a drink there as the bar in the Pearl had little atmosphere and was in a strange location.

We didn't go to any of the bars on the strip but it was very entertaining to walk along in the evening and hear the tribute acts murder songs.

Would we go back: DEFINITELY
