“Fantastic Holiday”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

We stayed at Iliada Beach from 16th-23rd July 2012. This was our second time at this hotel.
It is very clean and the rooms are very comfortable. We would recommend a full sea view, well worth the extra, the view is amazing. The food is good especially the lunch time snacks.
Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel located right on beautiful sandy beach great for cooling off in the clear clean sea. Friendly bar. Only down side is the invasion of locals at the weekend taking over the sunbeds and pool area, needs to be addressed by management.
Not a lot of entertainment within hotel but plenty of nightlife close by.
We will definitely return to Iliada.

Room Tip: Higher floor with full sea view

just returned 5/8/12 from lliada beach hotel the hotel clean food was good in evening but in the afternoon it was a limited set menu plus service was really poor you could wait between fortyfive min hour for your soup to start with and was allways cold and the rest of your order was wrong then at the weekends you would struggle to a sun lounger and a table at pool restuarant as the locals would decend to the beach and the hotels when we approached managment about this they done nothing to prevent the locals loungers and the pool also the entertainment well least said about this the better

we stayed at the iliada beach on the 28/7/2012 till 4/8/12, we came for a friends wedding we would not normally go away peak season but we didnt have a lot of choice, the weather was so hot but we where right on the beach so a dip in the sea every 10 mins was great. this hotel is really clean the food is good the staff are friendly so what more can you ask for. and its in the middle of all the shops and bars so you can walk into everything. ask for a high floor because the view in amazing, i would defo go back.

Room Tip: high floor sea view

We have just returned from our 4th stay at Iliada and are already planning to return next year. All the staff are really friendly and it is great that they remember you from the previous year!!!
The rooms are spacious and are kept cleaned to a high standard.
Food is great, breakfast includes fresh fruit, cereal, eggs, sausage bacon etc
Lunch has plenty of choice from menu, portions are huge, could probably half them and it would still be plenty, Dinners are great, always something for everyone, themed nights eg italian, mexican, barbeque, only complaint would be a lot of plates had chips out of them.
Great thomas cook rep this year, Lisa, who was always making sure you were ok, very helpful and friendly.
Entertainment was a young guy Aaron, did a great job getting everyone involved in daytime activities, also great karaoke and break dancing nights, certificate for Aaron lol :).
Really have to mention Makis who has got to be the funniest, friendliest barman in Protaras and his side kick Martyna, what a great team :)
Will definately be back next year:)

My family and I are here now and really like it. the hotel is ideally located, the beach outside the door on one side and the "strip" outside the other many very good restaurants and bars but the hotel room is quiet. we have 2 rooms 060 which faces to the side and 210 which faces the beach. They are both just fine, clean, the aircon works and the cleaning staff are brillant, friendly and the bathrooms are spotless. The beds are just great, better than the one we have ahome!

the beach is clean with plenty of room, true, if you come out at noon you may have a problem getting a sunlounger but that is understandable. The pool is great, it is warm but unless they throw in ice cubes I don't know what they can do about that...

the food is better than good, there is something for everyone, it is hot and does not seem to be recycled from the day before.

the staff are very friendly, always smiling and asking how you are and if you make a bit of effort by greeting them first they become even friendlier.

I must say, after having read some of the latest reviews here, I was a bit nervous but we are really having a great time and are already planning a return next year.

Room Tip: 210 is a great room facing the beach

Me, my brother and my mum stayed here for a 7 night duration just over a week back.

We had the best holiday so far, as it was a great location and plenty of things to do. If you walk to the beach front from the hotel pool area you can book up watersports.
A ten/ twenty minute walk to the pier? you can go on boat trips- We went on the Coca-Cola boat which is 2hrs something- they take you past talking points, you get a 30min swim before making their way back. If you liked the morning trip so much you can pay (really reasonable priced) and hop on the afternoon one!!

The head boards looked cheap (considering it was a four star) I would I prefered a room of a higher standard as when I get away I expect something a little nicer than what I have at home.
The bathrooms werent very plesent there was some sort of yellow mold stain/lump ? in the bath tub/shower and the bathroom also was very basic and small. - These things need to be upgraded first before I would consider choosing & paying for this hotel again, considering prices they charge they could spend it on the rooms and more likely to get return customers and more buisness.
The size of the room is lovely and spacious it has get opportunity! Also loved having a balcony so thumbs up from us all- great view.

We did enjoy relaxing round the pool, and having a swim, we even participated in darts in the day- with the activities organiser and other hotel guests. (we are gutted we missed joinning in wich the canoo race between hotels)

All meals served in different levels/ areas of the hotel - Breakfast on -2 (I get confused- pool level) was great had toast, all your hot foods, cereal, juices etc etc (was the best meal of the day).
Lunch was at the pool bar/ resturant- portions are massive!! after 2pm if you were busy you can order a 'snack' which is either salads or sandwiches mainly- sandwiches toasted of rolls- come with fries and salad!! -so alot of food for a snack!!
I was expecting ice cream at snack bar but what do I know I have never done All Inclusive before. I would recommend All inclusive- as so much easier to just go up the the pool bar or inside reception bar and get a drink with out fiddling about for lose change and worry about spending money.
The Evening meal- the first night was a little disappointing- there was a small room buffet style which selection- the room wasn't layed out well. There was always a meal I could put together but most people ate at lunch at the pool bar- that's why there brochured food rating scores well.

There is a bus stop out side hotel 1 Euro bus to Waterworld waterpark one way, also takes you to Ayia Napa- (30-40mins journey) buses run through out the night- cost increases at this time!! Shops at front of hotel it you like souviers and a good wonder.

Have a great time in Cyprus!- enjoy

Just got back from a 7day half board stay with my girlfriend, i've never really felt the need to write reviews on holidays as they usually live upto standard and any un pleasantries are usually forgotten by the end. However i feel really cheated at the advertisement of this hotel as 4* and the price we paid for it.
LOCATION: Absolutely spot on, walk out the back and youre in the pool area outlooking the beautiful beach and crystal blue sea. Walk out the front and youre on the busy strip full of restaraunts, shops and amusements (a little to commercialised for us though).
ROOMS: Really disappointing..The decoration is from the 70's, there were cracks in the walls, the bathroom was TINY and again had cracks in the tiles and actual toilet! The Tv was from the 70's too and only had 3 channels. The balcony although provided an awesome view was small with rusty blue railings. The room was kept clean though and the maid was really nice. The air con was pathetic too.
FOOD: Now this is where it gets worse, breakfast was served next to some bushes so flys were constantly landing on your food, the selection was varied but quality was honestly poor. Dinner was a very nice setting, but was failed by the super slow service..i waited 15 minutes for a coke for crying out loud. The food lacked variety and quality was awful..grease with a side of chips was the main choice, followed by multicoloured mousse for dessert.
STAFF: Lisa the thomas cook rep was absolutely fine..typical bubbly scouse. Aaron although friendly lacked enthusiasm for the activities and most of the time they didnt run. Hotel staff were a mixed bunch and definitley need to break a smile once in a while.
POOL: Sunbeds were never an issue as there were plenty, however the pool was HOT and over chlorinated..I run a swimming pool here in the uk and to see the maintenance guy chucking chlorine in at 9am was not re assuring to me.

Overall i would definitely would not recommend this hotel but i definitely would recommend protoras as somehow i managed to have a really good time, still really disappointed in the hotel though.

Room Tip: Higher floor for a quieter night
