“Lovely staff, good location and best ever food in an all inclusive”
Reviewed April 11, 2013 via mobile

Loved the location with the little harbour and beach which was having sand spread on it on our first day. We were the last to be delivered to the hotel and its location means excursions begin horribly early so although we had not intended to rent a car we did so. The room was disappointing. Next to the cleaners store with a balcony overlooking a service yard we disliked it so much we enquired about an upgrade to be cursorily dismissed by the only unhelpful member of staff we met. Rest of the staff were lovely and worked very hard to keep guests happy. Only one wedding while we were there but we were told that in high season there can be 5 each day! The hotel was just opening for the season and we enjoyed not having to worry about claiming a sunbed or a bit of sand. Food was excellent - but occasionally let down by being lukewarm or cold. Otherwise variety and quality the best we have ever experienced in an all inclusive hotel. Swimming pool was cold but it was the first week. We were there as a couple but this would be a good choice for families - excellent animation team kept the children amused literally from morning till night. We really enjoyed our stay (despite the room) and would return.

Stayed here for a week on a half board basis, cant really fault the hotel itself, bit out of town but very easy to walk or hop on a bus to the nearest bars, restrauants, very clean hotel, large grounds, lots of sunbeds, rooms are quite spacious, very polite and friendly staff and quick to respond to any minor issues raised with them, honestly cannot fault the accomodation, free safe deposit boxes as well, a bonus. although you do have to pay for your fridge if you want to use it .

One very good thing was being allowed to have either our lunch in the restruant or our evening meal, breakfast has many many choices but it's all tepid, I know it must take some arranging
and it's out of season at the moment, not many people in the hotel but putting out 3 trays of fried eggs as soon as it's opens doesn't work, they sit there for ages before anyone actually selects them, likewise other hot food.

The lunchtime menu seeemd to be more palatable than the evening menu for some reason so we ate there at lunchtime and ate out at night. Lunchtime and evening the food is never hot
even the soup is tepid and for a 4 star hotel this lets it down. Meals are a bit of a mish-mash
of things, we had seen and read many good reviews about this hotel it's one of the reasons we selected but expected more on the food side of things, but to each their own, everyone's views are different I am only expressing ours. A note of caution, we were not made aware that having
tea or coffee or the cold drinks on offer in the restraunt at lunchtime were for all inclusive customers only and ended up with a surprise bill.

Overall very nice place, had a great hioliday, fantastic weather for early April, and getting around on public transport is so easy, bus stop right by the hotel, hop on it, at 1 euro each wherever your going on it's route it's well worth it, Pernera is about 10 mins away, Protaras 15, Paralimni about half hour and Agia Napa about half hour, we didnt go much further than these 4 places. and some very nice places to eat.

Enjoy your stay if your going, it is a ice place.

Room Tip: We asked for sea view if possible , it was - at 12 euros per person per night, rather steep so we sk...

Returned from a 4 day trip last week and we had a fab time. The staff were friendly and my 4 year old loved the kids club which gave us a much needed break. The food was typical buffet fare but it was good and there was a lot to choose from. One morning we arrived too late for breakfast, it had just been cleared away, but the manger went out of his way and cooked us a breakfast which was delicious. I think this hotel is good value and we would certainly go back again. My only negative is that the swimming pool was very cold. Probably OK in the summer months but I do think the indoor pool should be heated. That said it did'nt put my son off or the friends he made there, just me. We really enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: If you don't spend too much time in your room the side view is Ok, if you want something better...

After deciding we wanted to get married in Cyprus, we chose this hotel. We could not have picked a better hotel, the staff where excellent, entertainment was good and the hair dressing salon did a fantastic job of my hair and make up on the day. The whole week was a fantastic experience as we were a large party. The wedding co-ordinater as good as was the wedding rep from Thomas Cook, the only downside was that as a large Group we had a couple of issues but Thomas Cook holiday rep was not very good at sorting out. Looking forward to going back for our anniversat

We went in October for our friends wedding which was at the hotel.

The hotel is very tired and could do with a refurb. Certainly not a 3 or 4 star hotel. The rooms were shabby although were of a good size. The beds were comfortable and the air con worked. We had a sea view room and the view of the pool and bay was beautiful. The bathroom needed gutting as almost every tile was cracked which made it look pretty dirty. Luckily we didn't plan to spend much time in the room.

The real stars of this hotel were the staff. They worked tirelessly to make your stay enjoyable and were very friendly. The animation team were a great bunch of people and put on something for everyone. They were smiling from early morning until late at night.

Food was always hot and plentiful, however breakfast and lunch were much better than dinner. We ate out quite a few times in the evening and there are some great restaurants nearby. The drinks were ok for an all inclusive, you can get as much as you can possibly drink.

The wedding that we attended was superb and a very special day. The food especially for the wedding was also excellent. The staff were great on our friends special day and it shows that they know how to do weddings well. It was a day to remember. The ladies in the hotel salon are also amazing, they can ensure that the whole wedding party can have their hair, makeup and nails done in plenty of time. If you are booking your wedding here, you need not go anywhere else for your beauty needs.

Some gripes:
No free wifi - all hotels these days should provide free wifi. Its just mean not to do this.
The fridge we were supposed to pay for - however they did not. Again just mean if you are charged.
Poorly designed - you have to go right back into the hotel to use the loo. This took ages and meant lots of visits back and forward. This really should be addressed as this is a family hotel and with kids became tedious very quickly.

We did have a great holiday though and our friends wedding was fab. I would not return however to this hotel.

Room Tip: Ensure you get a sea view room!

Got married there in oct & got charged again for the chaple besides been charged in England . The food is terrible we had to eat out even though all inclusive . The local drink they charged for ,the family room was a pull out bed setee so there was no room to move had to have suitcases on the balcony . They didn't help or ask if I would like to store my wedding dress . Because they had made the children's bed up & put the backing of the setee against the window when heat from outside hit the cold from the cold in it broke the window & on the day of the wedding I had five work men in the SMALL family room fixing it . Never got the cleaners to come in & change the children's bed after in case any glass had gone on their bed .had to have them in our bed on the wedding night . Reception was rude I could go on as it was endless . Pool was infected half of the holiday makers walking round with ear infections that included me & my children. For the money me & my family paid it wasn't worth it other hotels around 3 star where loads better service my friends had stopped in at the time & if you do go don't go with Thomas cook the reps are useless but thomsons helped their holiday makers . I do have pictures which I WILL be putting up

We had our wedding (and honeymoon) at the golden coast hotel and we have to say we had a FANTASTIC time!!! The hotel was just perfect with beautiful grounds and chapel. All of our guests loved staying there. The staff were superb, very friendly and helpful. We also used an independent wedding co-ordinator company called MARRY IN CYPRUS to organise our wedding of 40 guests and they were second to none. Very helpful and able to organise things to the minute detail. Many of our guests told us that it was the best wedding they had been to and they all would love to come to Cyprus again. Highly recommend not only the hotel but the wedding planners as well. We were EXTREAMLY happy.
