“Our best holiday yet!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013 via mobile

We stayed here for 11 nights after flying from Manchester. We arrived at the hotel at around 9.30pm and were swiftly checked in by Demetris on Reception. Once we had dropped our luggage off we were given a toasted sandwich at the bar and were able to catch the end of the evening entertainment. The hotel itself is very modern after a recent refurbishment. There are plenty of facilities: kids pool, large pool, table tennis, pool table, volley ball court, tennis courts, archery, arcade, kids club, gym etc. Hotel staff are excellent and generally service is very good. The entertainment team work hard and Jess, Dess and Mike go out of their way to get to know every guest. We enjoyed taking part in lots of activities!
The hotels location is perfect, the coastal setting provides a steady breeze cooling us sunbathers! You can hop on a bus every 15 minutes which will take you to Aiya Napa, Nissi Beach, Protaras, The water park Etc. We didn't do any trips as these seem very over priced guests who had done these we're slightly disappointed. The food at the hotel is excellent and I can't understand those people who have complained. There was a good selection of food, all cooked well and replenished frequently. Drinks are good, it was nice to find an all inclusive that serve drinks in glasses and not plastic cups! (Though you must use plastic cups around the pool)

The pool area is big and there are plenty of sunbeds around the hotel although if you want a sunbed around the pool then you need to be up before 8am. Some guests were reserving sunbeds early and after a number of complaints the hotel sent the maids to remove any towels lefts unattended at 8.30am. This happened on 3 occasions and it was good to see the hotels policy on reservations being enforced! Although there were some very angry Russians later in the day!

We had a fantastic holiday and have recommended the hotel to others. We're not ones to return to the same hotel year in year out but we would certainly consider it in the distant future. Thanks to all the staff at Pernera Beach :-)

I was looking forward to going to Cyprus but it exceeded all my expectations I loved it here, the hotel is right on the front by the sea and only a short walk from the shops and the the little town, then you can get a bus to Protaras and Ayia Napa for only 1.50 euro for adults and 0.75 for a child, and the buses were regular, the hotel was lovely very modern, rooms were lovely and clean, the pool was lovely and most of the time you can get a sunbed althouh be early if you want right next to the pool, the food we thought was lovely too, breakfast was always lots of food available and a full english always on offer, lunch and dinner were buffet too and we always had a lovely meal, the highlight for us was the fantastic entertainment, the animation team here (Mike, Jessica, Dess, Ailsa and Megi) were amazing best I have ever seen, the best show was the fire show, but the one man comedy show and the music quizzes were funny and well presented and the mamma mia musical was very well performed, we never missed a night there!!!! we loved it here so much we will be returning next year and cant wait to see what the animation team are planning next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: if you dont pick a sea view room you overlook the car park and some buildings in process but didnt b...

Stayed only for 2 nights, enough to know we are coming back. Visited this hotel some 30 years ago, not many parts of the hotel were recognizable, because of last year's major renovation. The major feature is of course the wonderful beach, which although a bit darker than Fig Tree and Sunrise Beach, is crystal clear and much more protected than Sunrise. It is also much quieter and favored by local families, so there is usually much less noise than the previously two mentioned beaches. The double standard sea view room was of a decent size, very good matresses, even that of the third single bed. Most of them have sea views of some sort. Common areas are very cozy, nicely decorated, breakfast restaurant airy and large enough not to feel crowded. Did not stay all inclusive so no comments on that. A la carte food at the Thalassa Gastro Bar was decent. All members of staff were polite and efficient when needed, even when we had to change plans and make our stay shorter. Overall a very pleasant stay, made excellent when considering the fact that other hotels in the Sunrise Beach / Fig Tree area charge more than double for very similar, if not of lower quality, services.

My husband and I had viewed numerous hotels/venues in the Pernera/Protaras area when finding a venue for our wedding. We happened to discover this hotel when en-route to a different hotel. We fell in love with The Pernera as soon as we walked through its doors. We booked the venue a year before our big day and we can honestly say it was superb!!

We got married in May this year at The Pernera. The year leading up to the wedding involved sending countless emails to the hotel arranging/planning our special day. The resplies were immediate and no question/idea was a problem.

We had both the wedding ceremony and evening reception at The Pernera. The ceremony was held outside under the 'purpose built' wedding pavilion. This was dressed with beautiful flowers and drapes. The hotel also provided the chairs/chair covers and assisted in making the ceremony so special.

The reception was held in the Thalassa A'La Carte area. This was amazing as overlooked the sea, was open plan, and secluded to the rest of the hotel which enabled it to feel extra special. Again, the event team (Theodoros) was extremely kind, organised and nothing was to big to ask. The venue was dressed beautifully.

The Food was truly superb!!!! All of our guests commented on how fantastic the mezze buffet was. Perfectly presented, hot, fresh and lots of choice! We had 160 guests to both the ceremony and reception.....a huge number of these were locals (my husband is half cypriot) and many commented that the food was the best they had experienced!!

We stayed in one of the Suites on our wedding night. The suite was bright, clean and spacious. Perfect end to a perfect day!!

All of the staff were so kind and friendly. Always providing service with a smile and at hand to answer our question/queries. They certainly added to our overall experience. Our wedding day was amazing, a truly special day. This would not have been the same if it hadnt been for this perfect hotel.

So...if you are looking for the perfect wedding venue....you should definately check out this hotel. You will NOT be disapointed!!

THANK YOU TO ALL AT THE PERNERA :-)

Have recently returned from a holiday at this hotel and was really pleased with the whole experience. The hotel itself is clean, modern and has everything you would need. It's in a great location with the beach 2 minutes walk away. The rooms have a safe and a fridge and ours had a lovely view of the beach.

All the staff are friendly and helpful, especially the cleaners and the delightful dining room staff who were always so happy and friendly.

The location is fairly quiet and the guests were largely made up of couples and families. You can get a bus into Protarus which takes about 5 or 10 minutes and there are plenty of shops there. Also the water park in Ayia Napa is about an hour away by bus.

The entertainment was facilitated by a hardworking and friendly team led by the very likeable Mike. The entertainment staff would make a point of mingling with the guests in the evening and introducing themselves when they spotted any new faces or just coming over for a quick chat which was nice. The entertainment itself was good, the team work hard and did make us laugh.

As for the food, I had read some of the reviews on here prior to my stay and have to admit I was expecting the worst. I thought it would be the usual quantity over quality carb-fest of mass produced stodge that you usually get at all inclusive hotels but I was pleasantly surprised. Ok, so they're never going to be giving out any Michelin stars here, but I thought the food was pretty good. It is true that the meat is not the highest quality and can be a bit dry but I have had far worse. There was a good variety of meat and fish dishes, catering for different nationalities, there were lots of salads and dips to choose from, soup, hot rolls, pasta, rice, kids food, a selection of boiled or grilled vegetables and always chips that were hot, crispy and properly cooked! The desserts were a bit of a let down as they didn't vary much. They were all a variation on some mousse-y concoction with whipped cream but even so they were pleasant enough. You would have to be a really fussy eater not to find anything you liked at mealtimes.

Some people had said on here that the drinks were watered down or not very alcholic. To be honest I ate so much I don't think they would have had much effect on me anyway so I can't really say! I think they probably were a bit lower in alcohol than I would normally be used to but if you're staying all inclusive you can have as many as you like so I guess it doesn't really matter! The queues at the bar were always short and they do have a really good variety of drinks including cocktails. They're not the best cocktails in the world but it was fun to try them all out.

All in all, we had a really lovely holiday and I would definitely recommend this hotel.
