As Ibsen lived and worked here for many years, and also is the place where he wrote "Catilina", his first novel, it's a fine place for a museum. The entrance costs 80 NOKs with guide included (if available). A guide shouldn't even be necessary, as plaques and posters are placed on every place possible, in both Norwegian and English (though the latter seems shortened somewhat, but not for the worse).
To only have lived in Grimstad for seven years, the amount of information about Ibsen fills the museum quite well, and not a single wall is seen empty or without a quote.
To conclude, for anyone interested in Ibsen and his early years, I recommend a visit to this museum.
