To balance out the negative review, I'd like to share my experiences at the Fare and Fowl. I've gone a number of times since July, 2008 and each time has been good. The fillet mignon and the steaks are very good and are the reason I keep going back. Deserts are pretty good, but I must admit that the vegetables in winter leave a lot to be desired. The pub also carries beer from the nearby Churchkey Brewery, which is a nice treat.
Thursday nights are live act nights and can be very entertaining. One singer in particular knew a song in Japanese and sang it for my wife (who is from Japan), making her night very special.
Is it the best restaurant in the world? No, of course not. Is it a one star restaurant? No, that would just be an expression of one person's emotional outburst. Go any time of the year and you will get great steaks. Go in the summer and you will get great steaks and great vegetables.
