My wife and I started our 2 week trip to Switzerland in Appenzell (I highly recommend this region as a starting point), and stayed at Haus Lydia for 2 nights. Overall this B&B is a great value and less expensive than hotels ‘in town’.
As has been said earlier the rooms are fairly small, clean, with comfortable beds. We were lucky to have good weather both days, and were are to have breakfast outside, with a ‘post card’ view. Lydia was very friendly and helpful (and speaks fairly good English, thankfully).
It can be a little noisy (there is a train track and busy road nearby), but quiets down at night.
Although it is a 20 minute walk from the train station, it is well-worth it (great view)More
