“Lovely atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 10, 2013

Lovely hotel in the historical centre of Naestved. Nice service, beautiful atmosphere, nice furnishing (fireplace, bar very "british style", plants everywhere) and extremely good food for both dinner and breakfast. Nice garden with summer option to dine in the terrace. Only limit is that building, buing quite aged, is made completely by wood and rumors and noisy can be easily heart from one room to the others. Sofa bed can be improved as well.

The standard of this hotel has deteriorated over time. It is not possible to survive as an attractive place if the standards on all levels are built on a tradition that has no longer any attractions. The food is stereotype and not inventive at all. The best experience is to come in summer and have a meai at the outside terrace.

Room Tip: Ask for another hotel in town

Walking into the reception, you find an efficient and welcoming smile. Turn right for the hunters den of a bar, complete with trophies and book cases- some may say tired, others would say quaint. Maybe homely is fair. The drinks options are decent, with the service very good. Add a log fire Kirstine and I would stay and not go in search of a pub!

The food is very, very good. The best hotel food in this area of Denmark. The fish delicious, the steak which they finish at the table exceptional. Really caring service during dining and breakfast with plentiful Danish Bocon and lots of alternative options for the non-carnivores is good.

Parking is directly in front of the hotel and as the smaller of local hotels, I am yet to miss a space.

The bedrooms, you may need to request in advance. Many of the single bedrooms must have received the beds as a job- lot from the set of The Hobbit! I'm 5:8 and they are not spacious. Ask in advance and they will avoid you being stuck in the Tolkeins worst nightmare wing!

So, in short- as a regular visitor, Naestved is not blessed with modern, fresh hotels- but this is the best for sure.

Room Tip: RING, in advance!

We stayed two nights at this charming hotel. The room was very nice and cosy. The service was excellent. One evening we had three dishes and the second night we had
five courses. We appreciated the food very much. The wine list offered good wines and had resonable prices. Breakfast was very good with lots of selections.
When we took walks in the streets close to the hotel we found parks and old interesting buildings.
We like to come back.

We stayed at this hotel for a week in Sep 10, while traveling Zealand. Decent, no frills hotel. The decor is simple but has its own charm.
We chose to stay in Naestved because of its central location (more or less in the middle of Zealand), which makes it a good base for traveling the island.

Our only grief with the hotel was that we booked a non-smoking, family room. We did get a family room, but it was clear that the room was used as a smoking room. We asked to replace and were answered that only small rooms were available. So we took a small room and the owner was decent enough not to charge us for the extra bed.

Breakfast is good, but not lavished. The hotel restaurant is very expensive even in relation to Denmark.

We chose this hotel after looking at the hotel website, where everething looks just so nice, and after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. We really wonder if we have stayed at the same hotel. The hotel from the outside looks very charming and the lady at the front desk was very nice and welcoming so we were really looking forward to see the room. What a disappointment! The room was so dated and so ugly, I can say we were truly chocked! The walls had black marks and dirt spots, the two bed headboards were hanging, leaning towards each other and there was absolutely no charm what so ever anywere. The bathroom was even worse. Pls see pictures i.e. the extremely dirty ventilation valve on the wall above the bathroom mirror. The breakfast next day at 07.30 was not at all attended to. It felt like we were having breakfast as the last guests and nothing had been refilled. There had been a few kind of juices to choose from, but none had been refilled and the two (!) remaining eggs were completely cold and when trying to peel them the egg white was just flowing out! What did we pay for this experience? Well, the price was $178 or 137 EUR!! A complete rip off!
