“Great Time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 11, 2013

We arrived late, after the restaurant had closed and were told that they had prepared an evening meal for us. We had e-mailed to say that we would arrive late, but hadn't asked for the meal which was delicious. We travelled from the airport by train and bus. Take the train for 3 stops towards Malaga and get off at Maria Zambrano. Walk to the bus station, which is close by. The buses are regular until late in the evening. You will need to buy your ticket at the Alsa kiosk before boarding. From memory, the bus leaves from stand 38. When you get off the bus in Torre del mar walk along for a while and then turn left and head for the sea front. Once there turn right and walk along to the end of the town where you will see the hotel on your right hand side.

We had a room on the camp side. We had the sun in the afternoon and wouldn't have known there was a camp site there if we hadn't been told.

The room was a reasonable size with a free fridge and safe.

Breakfast was good with a very friendly German frying eggs or omelettes. The evening meal wasn't so good, but we didn't starve.

There was daily/ nightly entertainment organised by Suzanne, a delightful French girl. We surprised her and a Spanish couple by beating them at Boules. We forgot to tell them that we've been playing Boules on holiday for nearly 20 years. The prize was a bottle of Cava.

The caves at Nerja are well worth a visit. If you are a pensioner please mention it because they appear to hide their pensioner discounts. Normal price €8.50. Discount price €4.

Room Tip: e-mail the hotel and ask for a room facing the camp site.

We spent a week at the Andalucia Beach in early March, good hotel with limited facilities but very comfortable rooms and great bathrooms!
We stayed on an All Inclusive basis and given that the hotel was mainly populated by elderly Spanish tourists the food was aimed at their tastes, it wasn't bad though, certainly edible and we never went hungry.
It would be easy to complain about certain things (lack of enough seating in the reception/bar area) but that would be being picky.
All in all it was a pleasant experience although I wouldn't recommend Torre Del Mar as a resort, it was........awful. Go further down the coast to Nerja, a lot more British but a beautiful place.

Room Tip: Book a room overlooking the adjacent caravan park - its the sunny side of the hotel during most dayl...

our second stay in this very clean hotel. Breakfasts are great - disappointed that there is no cava . Evening meals are hit and miss but there is always something that I enjoyed. This gave us the opportunity to visit other restaurants. The staff are lovely very friendly and helpful. Will stay again although is a bit too expensive later on in the season

Room Tip: ask for side facing camp site for maximum sun

this hotel is a nice base for your holiday, the breakfasts are very nice, although last year on our stay there we had Cava for breakfast, which was a very nice touch, they have stopped serving that now.
The rooms are kept very clean and the staff are very pleasant. the evening food is very non- descript but edible we ate out most nights, but for the price we paid for it we would not complain.
The bar in the reception area shuts early I think about 11.30pm. There is not a lot going on in the Hotel.
Free wi fi in the reception area,
The bedrooms still do not have a kettle and brew kit, so take a travel kettle. The fridge in the room is empty, not even a bottle of water. The TV has numerous Spanish channels but only BBC News in English.
The Hotel was filled with Spanish OAPS, who sit and play cards all day and night, we didnt find that a problem as most of them were lovely and tried to converse, but the reception is so small and lacks seating for all its guests as does the dining room.
To sum up I would use this Hotel again if we got a good deal, but I would not pay four star prices for this 2 to 3 star hotel. there are so many fantastic restaurants in the area food is not a problem, and public transport is so much better than the UK. I do not think that this Hotel would suit the under 50's.

Room Tip: book campsite side of hotel for afternoon sun on the balcony. book bed and breakfast only not all in...

We spent four nights here in mid Feb, for a restfull break. Cannot comment on the breakfast as we never awake in time to have one. Lunch had wine/water on the tables and the food was ok ( you would not starve) Same for the evening meal. We were all inclusive (new to the hotel) and never had an issue in the dining room/bar.Spanish nationals in the hotel 80% were friendly as were all the hotel staff. Rooms/towels were cleaned/changed daily, hygiene standards in the hotel were superb. Hotel is almost right on the beach which has an endless promenade running alongside the beach. For the cost, we have no complaints, go back ? if it came up on a cheap deal probably yes. This was the first time in the area and have no complaints.

Room Tip: Ask for a campsite view for sun on balcony all day, and a room away from lifts

We stayed at the Andalucia hotel the first two weeks in February this year. Our travel agent did not tell us that the hotel would be over-run with Spanish pensioners. We could not get a seat in the dining room until they had finished. The food was awful always cold no matter what time you ate.On our last evening there one of the main courses was "CHICKEN NUGGETTS". The lounge was shared with the reception and consisted of old couches and two old chairs. The tables and chairs were taken by the pensioners playing cards which they did from morning till night. The noise was horrendous. The entertainment was in the basement where the chairs were arranged as in church. There was no bar there and all the entertainment was in Spanish. Our room was not cleaned before three pm each day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will not be using this travel agent again. This hotel was a huge disappointment to us.

Room Tip: Pick another hotel
