great hotel, very quiet so not suitable for kids or drunken teenagers.. but for a relaxing break its perfect. hotel is exceptionally clean and staff are more than helful! if you are looking for a town with more life in it then look at somewhere in nerja (about 20mins away)

Room Tip: even numberd rooms look out toward the pool and the sea

Liked being outside of main town, although easy walking distance of centre. Lovely promenade, although they were still working on it in places. Didn't use pool as it was in the shade a lot in the afternoon. Hotel was better than I thought, lots of varity at breakfast and dinner, although we did think that food could have been a bit hotter. Fridge and safe in room at no extra charge, missed taking my kettle as there was none in the room. Free wireless was available in foyer and restaurant. Walls are very thin. Were kept up till gone 3 in the morning one night with the couple next door playing music with patio door open. Did mention to reception next day and they said if it happens again to phone down. As they were english I didn't want other guests to think it was us. Receptionist's were helpful when we asked for any advise.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the camping side as the sun is on that side in the afternoon. Wish we had! Enjoye...

Hi All -- visited this hotel for first time 17th Feb 2012 for 7 days -- Many many plus points going for it Viz:
Hotel and its surrounding area is on the flat --it sits on the edge of the town Torre Del Mar but in a fairly central position 5/10 minutes walk takes you to Andalucia Avenue where lots of shops cafes banks etc - It overlooks (on the odd number rooms) a traveller van and residential van park which is extremely quiet and inhabited by mature people --sun shines on this side from 1pm until sunset and also faces the hills and mountains -- nice.
Other side overlooks a pleasant garden and medium sized swimming pool --has also a patio area --relaxing
The town itself is fairly large and totally on flat so easy and pleasant for strolling along and has a market on Thursdays --quite large
The town has a spanish feel and the properties are all well kept and very very attractive little houses dotted throughout it

Main door of hotel faces the beach --just across the street and has a marine walkway with little green areas and also exercise machines

Hotel --rooms are roomy --good balcony -- built in free safe and Tv (free)+ Fridge
Food -- substantial buffet style which caters for all tastes --well cooked variable and presentable
Staff --Very helpful and friendly and the dining room staff in particular always make you feel welcome --super people really and very well disciplined and prompt
Some entertainment in the hotel 2/3 nights but then its February don't forget
We went to bed round 10-10/30 relaxed and happy -- very pleasant place
The Hotel does not change Sterling or Dollars but as I say Gambio and Banks all fairly close

Nice hotel very clean with very friendly staff. Great breakfasts with lots of choice - loved the grilled tomatoes and the cava for breakfasts. Coffee good. Evening meal hit and miss at times- complimentary coffee or tea not available . Rooms nice would be better if they had tea and coffee making facilities. Rooms over looking the camp site have a lot of sun in the afternoon. Visited La Cueva for evening meal- excellent. Malaga very easy to get to on the bus, try el pimpi near the cathedral and picasso museum for a drink. Valez malaga worth a visit via the tram- old town interesting. other bars worth a mention- Tanit - jazz on tuesdays, acropolois for good coffee, padre pia bar on the front - good wine and nice host

This hotel is one of the cleanest I have ever stayed in. The bedrooms are very airy and a good size, beds are extremely comfy, bedding changed regulary, towels too, the rooms have a fridge(unstocked) a hairdryer and a safe. The balcony is a good size with plastic furniture. The bathroom has a good sized bath with shower above, toilet and bidet. There is a TV but nothing in English except the BBC world news. It would be a good idea for the hotel to place a brew kit and kettle in the rooms. We had a room on the poolside which gets the early morning sun, the rooms on the campsite side get the glorious afternoon sun.
The reception is again clean, if not a little dated. with a mixture of comfy seats and tables and chairs with a small bar, the bar serves hot drinks, beers, spirits and soft drinks at a reasonable price, there is no pressure to purchase drinks, cards and dominos are available at the reception. There was entertainment on site, but I cannot comment on it as we never saw any of the shows.
There is an amazing roof top terrace with sun beds and double beds(see pics)
The dining room was light, airy and very clean.
The breakfasts were great, such choice, starting with Cava every morning, there was the normal cereals, yoghurts, fresh and dried fruits, continental breakfast, many different types of bread and pastries, cold meat, cheese and pate. The full english breakfast, pancakes and syrup. churros and hot chocolate. fruit juices and many different teas and coffees.
I've saved the worst till last as it did not really affect the holiday and there are many fantastic bars and restaurants in the area, the evening meals were different, and I do go to Spain to eat the wonderful Spanish food, they were a a real mish-mash, and a total disappointment after the fantastic breakfasts. They were supposed to be themed nights, mexican, italian etc, all the evening meals were luke warm and very unappetizing, That being the only negative I would go again but bed and breakfast only,

Room Tip: choose a room on the campsite side for afternoon sun.

Situated at the Western end of Torre Del Mar on the promenade adjacent to Camping Torre Del Mar campsite the BQ is perfectly placed for a relaxing stay without the hustle and bustle of the busy town centre which is 10 minute walk.
Excellent bus links to Malaga, Nerja and all around Velez-Malaga, 4 km stretch shingle beach with modern facilities, showers w.c.
Several supermarkets, many types of cuisine, safe, clean, great for cyclists, lots of dog walkers and very busy little harbour, 45 mins from Malaga Airport.
Incredible mountain scenery and even skiing if you want.
BQ Andalucia beach has everything you could want, excellent variety of food, clean rooms lovely helpful staff. We preffered top floor (5) on campsite side to get all day sun and the fifth floor solarium for sunbathing.
Could only find one negative which is the smelly drain near to front entrance and slight smell of drains in the basement areas.

A great place, good food, nice location, reasonable price. The staff are really kind and helpful, seem to enjoy doing their job, we were really impressed. Rooms could be a little larger, but it didn't really matter as we spent all days sightseeing. Very good value for money.
