“Wonderful place - a peaceful oasis”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

We visited Evason in the month of August for a 2 day stay and loved the place. We reached the place at abt 11 am -the check-in was slow but, all was forgotten once we reached our sea view room. Large spacious room with a sunken bath tub beside the bed and a beautiful, large verendah (with a day bed) overlooking the sea. The main pool is large & overlooks the beach...the staff is pleasant & serves ice lollies at the pool. The food in the italian & multi-cuisine restaurant was good. Breakfast is a sumptuous buffet with a good spread of juices, fruits, salads & dried nuts. We hired bikes from a place just outside the hotel & had a very nice time riding on the long stretch of road beside the beach. We upgraded to a pool villa the next day and it was just awesome.. large room with a private pool and an outdoor bath tub & shower. It was pure luxury. Room service takes time either due to shortage of staff or due to the distance between rooms & service areas. We visited the spa also and the experience was really great with jacuzzis set between flower ponds under the open sky.. the staff at the spa was extremely courteous and efficient. The entire atmosphere of the resort is very earthen, eco-friendly & relaxing.

Room Tip: The sea view room & pool villas are both great.

Dear Bhumika-Kedia

Thank you for your review and delighted that we provided "a peaceful oasis" that you enjoyed.
You definitely experienced two delightful room types with the Studio sea view room overlooking the Gulf of Thailand and then the privacy of the pool villas.
Thank you for the recommendation and we will look forward to your return.

Kind regards

I've never really stayed in a spa retreat place so this was a new experience. We arrived from our stay in Bangkok and were quite relieved that this place is very laid back and in the middle of nowhere (but near the sea!) Immediately whisked out of our taxi and into a golf buggy that took us to the reception area that overlooks a massive lilly pond. A very lovely man (Ae) led us to our room.
The room was good although my one gripe was that we are a couple but there were single mossy nets hung from the four poster bed so we had to choose to get bitten or sleep apart! With or fresh mossy bites we enjoyed a massive breakfast the next day. The breakfast buffet is good. The bath/shower was a little basic and I felt a little jealous after viewing various photos of outside baths.
The staff are all exceptional pleasant and always appeared doing things. We used the shuttle bus to got to Hua Hin. When we first booked I was sure that this was free. It is now 200 baht, which was fine.
we decided against dipping our feet in the sea as it didnt look too inviting. No need really when you hand the pools. The swimming pools are lovely and the staff are available to get you anything...and giving out the odd free ice pop!
We also experienced treatments at the spa. My volcano rock massage was awesome. I was intrigued by a Chakra treatment so paid extra for a 50 minute "one on one". My partner also had one. Initially I was happy with what I had learnt, but once we got talking about what we had been told by the lady the more it came quite apparent that we had been both told very similar things. Not such an individual assessment. This was a bit disappointing but still an experienced ticked off! We felt a bit like Edina and Patsy (Ab Fab)
We didn't use the restaurant as we preferred to try local places. I recommend "The very Good restaurant" (yes that's its name) that is a 3-5 minute.

In all we were very happy with our stay.

Room Tip: I think we would of liked the pool room. We were not asked about upgrading and I dont recall being a...

This is the second time we have stayed at the Evason, the last time was just over two years ago. Not much had changed since then, although it is a bit more worn in places, which also gives it a rustic appeal! Unfortunately they were renovating the main pool (which we knew about in advance) at the time, but we had a Pool Villa so it was fine. Staff were lovely, breakfast is nice and generous with it's range and the food at the front bar was also good. Our 6 year old used the kids club, which has it's own pool and activities (paid) for little ones. We also went to the spa which was wonderful, but you do pay higher prices. There is not much outside of the resort. Last time we stayed we ventured to Mr Sing's Beach Bar, which is no longer on the beach. It is further up the road (about a 5-10 min easy walk) and definitely worth going to. We had dinner at Mr Sing's Beach Bar every night and he then drove us back to the hotel. All in all a great resort if you are happy to stay within the grounds to relax.

Room Tip: The pool villas are worth upgrading too if you can get a good deal!

Thank you for your review and your return to the resort - as well as keeping Mr Sing happy!
Also pleased to see that your six year old was able to make use of the Kids Club and next time you are back you will all be able to use the main pool, now open again, with its splendid new wooden decking.

I live in Bangkok so I have had a chance to see almost all the luxury properties in Hua Hin. I would say I liked Evason Hua Hin a lot and would recommend it. Beautiful large property with lovely landscape gardens. Very green. Rooms are done in white, which stands against the green surroundings. The restaurants are great. Breakfast spread is amazing. Very relaxing place. Just next to the beach. Not much of a beach but the water is nice.

This place is beautiful, if you are looking for a pure relaxation then this is the place. The resort has beautifully landscaped gardens, fantastic spa, the food is great. I loved the breakfast buffet; amazing so much choice, I loved all the exotic fruit:0 the beach is a bit of let-down unfortunately.
The resort itself is isolated and a wonderful for peace and quiet. We found staff very friendly. Our room was very romantic and it`s a good place to go when you want to relax and spend quality time, there was no kids running around or any hustle and bustle. I loved the outdoors cinema:) After 2 weeks in there I felt completely rested.

Stayed at the hidaway for a week, the private secluded rooms are perfect for getting away from it all. Private pool and sunken sala just top it off, have your butler cater for your every need.
I only ate the thai cuisine in the restaurant, which was very good, I can't comment on their European dishes as I didn't try any.

this evason property is huge and is very lush. it is sadly not on the beach, a somewhat busy road separate it from the beach. having said that the beach itself is ugly and swimming is not recommended anyway. so most people lie around the pools.
even with those disadvantages, the hotel itself is still very nice. i love the lush garden and the feeling of being in a place far away from it all. the room is very rustic and very aged. renovation is much needed and yet it is still charming. bed is comfortable and i quite like the buffet breakfast. the happy hour is also very nice and guaranteed to get u drunk.
