Owner description: Come and learn kitesurfing with the Airstylers Family! We pride ourselves on giving the best quality instruction in Thailand. We always use radio helmets - we find it teaches you in about half the time compared to not using radios. Real time clear consistent instructions make it much easier for you to learn. That means we will get you up and riding safely quicker than any other kite school. Guaranteed! Our spot is the best in Thailand and may be the best for learning kitesurfing in Asia. Come and learn to fly with us!

My wife Kal and I spent a few days learning kite boarding during our time here, and then we had a lovely day when the wind was down a bit going out for a sail on Colin's Katamaran. In both arenas (kiting and sailing) Colin demonstrates aptitude and care--and it's clear he loves being on the water. Colin is a careful instructor and an excellent teacher. I highly recommend getting out on the sailboat! It's a great to look at the beach from the other direction, you don't have to develop any particular skill to ride along, we saw some flying fish, and we managed to find a beautiful secluded resort that served a delicious afternoon tea set (cheese cake, brownies, scones...). Thanks Colin!

We not only found a great school here in Pranburi, but a great kiteboarding community that made our stay in Thailand unforgettable.

Before Airstylers, I took lessons in Tarifa, Spain and in Michigan, USA. Both experiences were discouraging. Tarifa was a kiteboarding factory (tons of people come for kiteboarding camps). There were 200 kites on the beach (all beginners) and the quality of instruction was terrible. There were 3-4 students per instructor and people learn at very different rates, so nobody got the instruction they needed. In Michigan the instructors were great kiters, but lousy teachers/business owners!

Airstylers was the place I've been looking for all along! Colin has a great, chill energy that translates well into teaching. He is also a professional businessman, a confident rider/sailer, and values safety (sadly not all schools do). Here are a few reasons why you should take lessons here:

Beach:
The school is conveniently located just across the street from a great, wide, beach (easy to launch). We never saw more than a half-dozen kites on the water, so there isn't too much traffic on the beach (Jan-Feb 2013).

Equipment:
Colin has up-to-date equipment and takes great care of his kites. So you can be confident you're learning on quality kites and boards. You can also rent equipment if you're an experienced kiter.

Teaching/philosophy, etc:
Lets face it, kiteboarders can be douschebags! That is definitely not the case here! Colin is just doing what he loves doing and it shows in every aspect of his lifestyle.
Colin offers private or semi-private lessons, so as you are learning Colin is with you every step of the way.

Community:
Like I said, there is a great group of people riding here that really welcomed and accepted us for the short time that we were in Pranburi. It's nice to learn how to kite, but it's even nicer to make friends. A lot of days we'd hang out at the shop, on the beach, and then go out to dinner afterwards.

No wind options:
Colin also has a catamaran sailboat, so it's a fun option to explore the area when there isn't enough wind to kite! We had a great time learning the basics of sailing and took a cruise down to grab some tea and cake, but there is apparently good snorkeling down in Dolphin Bay too!

Misc:
Come down for a weekend from Bangkok, or if you have the time and flexibility, stay for a week or two like we did! Be flexible about the wind, if you're not kiting or sailing there are plenty of other options to do around the area (or just relax :D).

Thanks heaps to Colin and his wife Nat for making my holiday complete.
On my first visit there was no wind but they entertained us all the same ,on my return visit i managed two lessons which had me on the board and kite surfing and it felt great!!!. I'm an ex ski instructor and have been teaching all around the world and i would rate Collin as one of the best teachers i have come across in his loved sport, his professionalism/ knowledge and also his ability to relate to peoples different ways of absorbing information made him an excellent instructor.
Thanks Collin and ill be back!!!!!

Col and his wife Nat are the loveliest people you will meet in the whole of Thailand. Their professionalism and hospitality is something you will not find at any other kite school! When there is no wind, they go out of their way to entertain and ensure you have a fantastic time, which is exactly what I had even though the wind didn't comply.

The location is simply stunning, not crowded at all and has a very relaxed atmosphere. Make sure you consider this stop on your Thai holiday!

A huge thank you to Col and Nat! Will see you again soon.

Well worth the short trip down from Bangkok.

Hire a car with GPS and enjoy this unspoilt beach hide-away.

Better than all the other Thai islands and only a 2.5hr drive from Bangkok.

Make sure you have the large shrimps- yum yum!
