This hotel is a five minute walk from Ornos beach and is a really good option if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the beach front hotels. The hotel staff were very friendly and always invited us (I was there with two other friends) to have a chat in the evening and one even offered to show us around the island after he got off his shift. They were very hospitable. The property was also very nice, the pool was perfect and had a very nice backdrop of white buildings on hills - especially nice at night. Most people hang out at the beach, so we had the pool to ourselves when we used it. I would recommend the beach over the pool any day, but I usually took a dip in the pool after a full day at the beach.
The beach is packed with sunbeds for rental - they are rented for the day though, so be sure to get there by latest around noon to snag a sunbed. They also take reservations for the sunbeds - just look for the very glamorously dressed sundbed lady who walks the beach making sure all is in order. The staff are in white tshirts and will point you to her - she's quite beautiful (a bit stern, but very easy on the eyes if you are not in trouble with her). When I went at the peak of summer, the sunbeds were 9 euro without a towel and 13 euro with a towel. You can also order drinks from any of the staffers - they don't make you pay right away, you have a running tab - not the most controlled scenario since I'm sure people could skip out on them and they likely wouldn't know until end of day. Be warned, do NOT just sit on a sunbed of your choice, they are all reserved or accounted for, sooner or later, you will be asked to get up and sunbed lady will not be too happy with you. You don't want to be on her bad side, she controls the beach. If you walk to the far end of the beach in the direction of Kuzina (very good restaurant on the beach), there is a spot with no sunbeds where you can just bring a beach blanket and layout (no frills). The water is gorgeous. There's also a donut grandpa selling freshly made donuts on the beach, do yourself a favor and indulge - I had the nutella donut and it was heaven. I'm not sure if the guy he sells with is related, but I made up my own backstory that his hot grandson sells donuts with him... :)
Anyway, back to the hotel, I would definitely stay there again, the room was functional, had a balcony and clean. Most rooms require a bit of stair climbing for those of you who carry a lot of luggage. You walk to your room outdoors and they're set up like little apartments on the ground and second floor. Breakfast was decent - a lot of variety, although I mainly stuck with the greek yogurt with honey. The eggs were a bit over done, but it was a breakfast buffet so not entirely a surprise on that front. Again, the staff were wonderful and made the stay all the more memorable.
