“Trip of a lifetime”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2007

My wife & I recently returned from our holiday of a lifetime at the Warwick Fiji. This was a holiday that we had been saving about a year for and the end result was truly worth it, and we are already planning our next trip back!

The staff at the Resort, particularly the ones at the Cafe Korolevu were outstanding with their consistency and cheery smile to greet us with every morning, and evening. We chose to eat at the Pool Grill for lunch and they were just as accommodating! The themed Buffet Dinners for every evening was absolutely filling, and catered for our every need ~ my wife is not a great meat eater, so this was perfect!

We stayed in the Warwick Club rooms, and were well looked after by our Hostess - Ma, and the rooms were well suited for every couples needs. The Club lounge also ensures that we can still escape to our own private world, and then come back and join the rest of the Resort.

Definitely a recommendation for all to stay at as it has all that you require and more.....

My partner and I stayed at the Warwick for 4 nights. on the second night of our stay we ate in the Cafe Koralevu - one of the 4 restuarants that Warwick has and both had Oriental Wok Stir fry. Within hours my partner was violently sick and then I started with bad diarheah. We spent all nigh being ill and in the morning whilst getting some extra tiolet roll from the maids whom I explained to the reason why we needed the extra rolls an australian lady approached me and said her husband had been up allnight with sickness and diahrhea and that some friends of theirs who were in another room were also ill. They had eaten Chicken Ceaser Salad.

Basically our holiday was ruined by food poisoning. We spend most of our fijian dollars on getting Gasrolyte from the shop , which suspiciously had to keep filling their shelves up. Whilst in the shop I met a lady whom also had been ill. So that was 5 people that I met the day after the night we all ate in the Cafe Koralevu.

We complained to the hotel - concierge young lady, whom said that the manager Brad someone would contact us...but he never did. We were so glad to leave fiji. We have both never been so ill.
We have complained to our travel agents and they have made a note of it, should it happen to anyone else.

I returned home yesterday from my 3rd visit to the warwick. I went with my parents and a girlfriend. The all inclusive deal is the way to go, although you tend to feel guilty when you cant finish your meal every night. And free alcohol is always a bonus, it definately saves you money, we added up how much it would of cost without the inclusive and it was a massive saving.
The rooms as many people have mentioned arent 100%, but there is so much to do that you dont spend alot of time in there.
We did an inland safari tour with matthew and tom, they were so friendly and they teach you about the real fiji, then to a school and the children sang and danced for us. It was a real eye opener to see how they live.
The warwick is generally a family resort but my friend and i, being single, had so much fun.
The highlight of the holiday had to be the activity staff. They were the friendliest, funniest bunch of bubble heads i have ever met, those of you who have been there will know what bubble heads mean. There is always a volley ball competition or relays of some sort, and as much as i wanted to sunbake, they made me join in and it was so much fun.
Every day at 5 they have bula bula bingo. We played daily. The host, Dan, gives out prizes like cocktails or sarongs. Its full of laughs.
The nightly entertainment is really good. The traditional meke dance is full of life, and they make you feel a part of it. They have a poleneysian night on the beach which was ok, not my favourite. They also have a band at night which is good to have a sing along to.
The weather was gorgeous and bright. A couple of the days it rained and there was a bit of a storm but it was still pretty and warm.
I made so many fijian friends, and within hours they knew my name, which makes you feel accepted and welcomed. The hardest part was leaving there. They gave us kisses and cuddles but coming home really got me down, they are so genuine and you dont see that here.
Overall i had the best time of my life in this vsit, and i will be starting to plan my 4th visit back as soon as i can, anything to be there

We paid for the inclusive food and not drinks. It's definitely worth getting an inclusive package because food and drink were quite expensive. It cost us enough for drinks which were about $6 for a local beer, $12 for cocktails and about $4 for a glass of soft drink (about half a can). We brought drinks duty free and mixed them in our room with some softdrinks but the soft drinks were expensive enough! We never had to pay for any of the food but we were really sick of the food after 7 days- it just wasn't the same produce as in Australia.

There are buses that go into town which is pretty far away. We met Thomas who did a talk at the hotel on fiji history but he took us into town and made it a lot easier and made sure we didn't get riped off on the bus.

The fijians were so kind and we had a great time with the volleyball and touch footy. The snorkelling was easy and fun adn they have a really fun activities group who learn your name in no time. If loking at the Warwick keep in mind the distance from town and also the hour and a half drive or so from the airport.

On the way to Australia we stopped in Fiji for a week at the Warwick. It turned out to be an unexpectedly great stay , and we can't wait to return next January. Located about an hour drive from Nadi airport, we rented an Avis car, but except for a trip to Suva, it was otherwise largely unused and an unnecessary expenditure. The self-contained resort, surrounded by acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in every respect was more than what we expected. We were upgraded from a garden room to a spotlessly clean ocean view room, which was nicely furnished with tropical wood furniture, air conditioned, a somewhat dated bathroom, minibar, in-room safe, and a balcony. Dining, starting with the most scrumptuous breakfast buffet was a difficult decision each day, since on-site five different restaurants offered a-la-carte dining in beautiful settings. With two pools and at least a quarter mile, reef protected beach backed by a grassy area with plenty of shade spending trees, finding "one's" favorite quiet spot was rather easy. Although many families with children stayed there as well, the children program of the hotel kept them busy from daybreak until past night fall with one activity after another. Besides Tennis and Minigolf, use of non motorized water sports equipment was complimentary. In addition, the tour desk offered excursions for the adventurous on the ocean or in the hinterland. Nightly outdoor South Seas folkloric entertainment was free of charge as well. A Sunday morning surprise was a choir singing gospel in the garden. The lobby shopping arcade had a number of well stocked shops with attractive prices. What made our stay rather special was unquestionably the hospitality and friendliness of the staff and the Fiji people in general. Our week went by in a flash and we left the Warwick with fond memories.

We choose the Warwick Fiji for a holiday break with the kids. Booked a room&breakfast&lunch package via a travel agent.
We stayed at the same hotel 4 years ago.
We shared a "garden view" room with our two teenage kids (12 and 15). The rooms are large enough. The bathrooms are nothing to write home about and are tired looking. The bedding is clean but some pillows need replacing as they smell of sweat.

The Food and Beverage offering is plenty. With a large Restaurant serving bf, lunch and dinner, an italian and a japanese as well as a seafood place (Wicked Walu) which has a great location on an island, connected to the hotel via a cause way.
The Wicked Walu is the most outstanding place and definitely worth a try. The food is great and the service outstanding including the welcome ceremony with the kava.
The Japanese Teppanyaki was very disappointing. We were served by a chef who clearly had no idea what he was doing. The Italian restaurant is alright but food preparation needs help. The service is great and friendly.
The main dining facility offers breakfast (very adequeate) lunch and dinner.
Lunch is also served at the pool side.

The hotel boosts very friendly staff and one feels part of the place after a couple of days where staff greet you with a smiley BULA and one becomes friends of the team. When we left there were many hugs and farewells.

The team at the activities centre are outstanding and it is great to see the interaction with the kids of all ages. Isoa is one of the best I have ever seen. He tirelessly manages to get even the laziest holiday maker to engage in activities and the fun is great. It also creates a family type atmosphere amongst people who have never met and we left the place with many new friends.

In the evenings there is service at the bar overlooking the lagoon and the disco with sometimes a live band.

The location (90 minutes from the airport) is not too bad, it allows the traveller to see some of the Fiji landscape.

The hotel has a beach and a lagoon type setting which allows for safe swimming and snorkling as well as windsurfing and kayaks are provided.

No internet connection is provided in the rooms. Only two PC's connected the internet with a modem. Charge is FJ$ 3.50 per connection and FJ$ 0.55 per minute. Receptionist almost always guess the connection time as it is manual and one can always argue the charges which can lead to adjustments. A total inadequate facility this day and age. But then again, who wants to work in an environment like this?? One should be on Fiji time and enjoy the break.

We highly recommend the Warwick and I am certain we will go back for a third time.

The staff are amazing! VINAKA VAKALEVU

Hi ho everyone,

Well my husband and i had another great holiday at the Warwick resort. This was our 3rd stay with them and we had a ball. We stayed with them for 5 weeks this time. When we arrived we were greated with the same lovely staff that always remember us.We were given the room we had requested [ 345 ] and it was lovely. They had two Warwick tee-shirts on our bed and a lovely fruit basket as well. Each day the newspaper was at our door and each night our bed was turned down and two bottles of port and two chocolates left beside it.Every three days a lovely fruit basket was in our room, its the little touches that make the difference.

The warwick never lets us down. The staff are so very friendly and the food was fantastic. The weather wasnt nice to us this trip but it didnt dampen our spirits. We hired a car and had a good look around. We visited villages with the staff and that was great. Each day we played vollyball and every thursday we had a game with the staff..we were called the coconuts. The activitys were full on..vollyball,spear throwing, egg throwing, pool vollyball, pool netball, rugby just to name a few.I went to the gym each day and loved it, very well equiped.

The day spa was to die for, my husband surprised me with a 3 and half hour pampering and all i can say was that it was devine. The snorkeling was fantastic.Isoa from the sports took me out each day for 2 hours and i had a blast. The Warwick caters for singles, couples and familys..you never get bored.Children and Fijians go hand in hand. You can fit so much into your day or just sit on the beach and relax, either way its paradise. The band of a night in the Hibiscus nightclub were great and the shows were brilliant.

I loved each day there and didnt want to leave. The friendly staff, great food, daily activitys, and lovely resort make it worth going back each year.Vuso at the poolside bar makes the best Paw-Paw cooler, put it on your drinking list. All in all we had a blast and once again we will be seeing all our friends at the Warwick next year.

Cheers...fee [ warwick ]
