..the two problems were checking out and the spa treatment - but more about that later.

Transportation - we pre arranged pick up at Nadi and the private car was waiting ($150 Fiji). The trip was a liitle longer than we expected but the road conditions are not the best and it was dark for half the trip so we were glad the driver took his time. Return was by taxi ($120Fiji) which we arranged at the desk. No problems either way.

Room - we stayed in a Warwick Club room (room 397) which we think was probably the best in the resort - we did not ask for 397 but were very glad it was allocated to us. We booked direct with the resort and stayed 9 nights so perhaps the resort gave us a favourable allocation for these reasons. These rooms are in the Suva wing which we believe is the quieter end of the resort. Others seemed quite happy with ground floor rooms in the same wing.

Staff - overall, we found them both helpful and friendly - including the general manager who we spoke to in passing several times as he walked around the resort. We did find the service to be less impressive at the Lagoon Bar and Grill - but others made up for this.

Food - breakfast buffet very good, but as with buffets all around the world 'hot' is not always as hot as it should be. The eggs were cooked whilst you waited and were very good.

Lunch - recommend eat indoors (ie the Bula Brasserie) and not the Lagoon Bar and Grill. Service and food quality both better inside.

Dinner - the buffets were OK, the Italian very good (but one night they did forget to ask for our order and then forgot to bring it ) - but we highly recommend the Regina Pizza - and the Japanese Teppanyaki was superb.

Overall food was better than we expected.

Location / facilities - the report is not new, it apparently was originally the Hyatt and is probably 20 years or more old - but in general it is in good shape. The staff take the time to keep the beach in good order every day and the snorkeling is quite good most of the day. There are tennis courts, put-put golf and other forms of sporting entertainment - which again are not brand new but in good enough condition to enjoy. The grounds / gardens are well maintained and very enjoyable to just walk around. The pool near the Warick Club rooms is generally quieter and more shady than the other end.

Value for money - we are a married couple with no children and found the all inclusive package to be excellent. No complaints about what we were entitled to and we did go above the 'allowance' in the Japanese restaurant to get what we wanted without concern. All inclusive is highly recommened as you know up front what the cost is going to be - and it is extra good value if you enjoy a glass of wine or two (or three). Obviously we can't comment on whether it would be of value for those with children and we defer to other recommendations on that issue.

Spa - wife booked for deluxe facial but was told on arrival equipment had broken down and only received aroma therapy facial. She now realises how good her beautician in Brisbane really is - the treatment was less than promised and even after adjusting her expectations down - was still less than impressed.

Checkout - from other comments and from personal observations the resort does need to spend some time working out how to keep track of all inclusive expenses. The resort asks you to sign for each item (drink / dinner etc) so they can keep track for internal purposes - but some of these end up on you bill by mistake (ie it is all inclusive so you don't actually pay separately). We spent 45 minutes at the checkout counter sorting things out.

Would we return - yes, if we had not already been to Fiji several times (most recently Shangri La Fijian resort in 2007 - Warrick is far better). The next beach holiday will be elsewhere, but that does not mean we did not throughly enjoy the Warwick.

The weather was not very kind to us - but it is hard to blame the resort for that!

We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Warwick resort travelling with 2 children aged 3 and 6. We had a similar experience to "Yummy Mummy" - long delays at reception to deal with anything, including check-in. The service is inconsistent and staff were at times rude, particularly in the Bula Brasserie. They seem to make up the rules about kids meals as they go . Some days we were told the kids could not eat with us and other days no problem. Kids meals are the usual unhealthy options like hot dogs and chicken nuggets (no vegetables offered). And I'm not sure what they thought we were going to do with a 3 yo and 6 yo - let them eat on their own or leave them in the room when we ate? One day we were told to eat at the open air Lagoon Grill when it was raining - though the meal package states that the Brasserie is included for lunch. The all inclusive meal package is in fact limited to FJD $25 pp for lunch and $50 pp for dinner. This covers the buffet at dinner but limits you to 1 item at the Lagoon grill or Brasserie for lunch, 2 courses at Pappagallos and the Japanese restaurtant and only one course at the Wicked Walu.

The resort is in a lovely location overlooking the water, and when the sun came out, the Suva wing pool and snorkelling is fun. I recommend ground floor rooms in the Suva wing (not Nadi as previous reviewer suggested as this is the wing that overlooks the noisy pool). There is constant music blaring from around the Nadi pool, but the other pool is quiet. However, the Suva wing mountain view rooms do face onto the resort's generator which can be very loud - you need to sleep with doors closed and aircon on. Not so nice to sit outside on the little patio area during the day when the generator's going. If you can afford it, the quietest rooms would be the Warwick club rooms in the Suva wing.

The downstairs rooms are also much larger than the second floor as we discovered when they ignored our booking request for ground floor and we spent the first night on the second floor. It took most of the day to sort this out but it was worth persisting because gound floor is much easier with kids as they can play outside. Staff were also resistant to providing a trundle bed for the 3 yo - again despite the booking request.

Also, after receiving late night phone calls at 10pm (Bula Brasserie reminding us to sign for kids meal!), and next night at 3am (another guest with wrong number) I unplugged the phone so we could have uninterrupted sleep! Even things like knocking on the door at 8.30pm to give us the next days activities list was pretty inconsiderate when kids are asleep.

Overall, these sorts of issues took the shine off our holiday. The food quality was good and there's lots of variety. Grounds staff and housekeeping staff are friendly. But the endless waiting to deal with anything (even getting a table for 5 at the Brasserie) and the surlinesss of some staff made us glad to come home.

We just took our four kids aged between 7yrs and 4 months to the warwick for a quick family break together, along with another family with 4 children. After the very long bus ride to the resort, we were greated by the very friendly staff, but our check in did take a rather long time....over half an hour!
Our adjoining rooms in the Nadi wing, were very nice, with plenty of room, clean and cool, and the pool was right out the front, just lovely. Perfect for the little ones needing sleep during the day, as the other pool is rather noisy, and there is always music coming from the pool bar.
We found the food ok, but not as good as other resorts we have stayed in before in fiji.
The service was usually good, occasionaly it was poor or even rude, but the friendly helpful staff out number the poor ones.
The kids loved both the pools, and the kids club, so that gave the parents a nice break!
I'm not sure we would return to the warwick, but it was a nice resort, and reasonably priced, as we have to have 2 rooms it can get costly.
However, the kids club is not free, and you even have to pay for some non-motorised activities, and it seemed that it was always a little extra here and there for something!
It definatley pays to go on a meal plan, but even " all inclusive " is not always that.
We did have a few issues with our bill at the end, and it takes them ages to check out, so its worth getting a copy of your bill the day before you leave, so you can check it over.
Overall its a long way from nadi, when there are other resorts of simalar style and value much closer to the airport. But it was a reasonable value for money holiday, and we did enjoy our time there.

The location is totally gorgeous. Nice beach, lagoon, and excellent resort lay out and garden. We enjoyed watching the sunset and playing the mini golf. However, the rooms need renovation. Our hotel room is small and the bathroom has cracked tile and wires dangling from the hair dryer. Looks really dangerous. Service was below average. We booked a queen bed room, and they gave us a twin bed room. When we requested the room to have the queen bed they tried to charge us $50 more. Luckily we printed the reservation form for our proof to argue. Finally, the manager gave up and gave us the queen bed room. The staffs for the water sport were lazy and not as friendly as staffs in other resorts we stayed. I may give 5.5 for the service and hotel, but 9 for location.

well on arrival at the warwick we were put in a mountain view room or though we were in the block overlooking the crazy golf course where if u looked right u saw the ocean and left your saw the mountains so had the best of both which was cool(room 277 if anyone wants similar views) What can I say about the warwick, staff were awesome very very friendly and always willing to help, food was great we had the meal plan breakfast lunch and dunner vouchers and found it very good value, cocktails were on average 10 dollars cheaper then the hilton views were great beach was great, coral reef right off the beach so great snorkeling, room was a bit smaller then the Hilton but still very nicely furnished. Not so many kids around the warwick either I guess cause most families base themselves at denerau for the closeness to the shops etc. Last night we booked the romantic private dinner in the lagoon bure, well worth the money 240 fiji dollars for 2 which is about 40 english pounds each for this you get a 3 course meal bottle of wine, glass of champagne, awesome views and a very friendly waiter. My girlfriend also had some treatments done in the spa which was very nice apparently and good value again because of the exchange rate.

Only minor gripe with the warwick is reception everytime I went there for anything it took absolutely ages to get to the front of the line, I dont know if this is because of lack of staff(only ever seemed to be 2 people there) or just fiji time but even to buy myself half hour of internet time on our last day I was in line for about 30-45 minutes.

My wife and I stayed at the Warwick Hotel for just 4 nights and we couldn't complain about anything.
The service from the staff was amazing. They were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The resort itself is in good condition. Some minor wear and tear but nothing that should spoil your holiday.
We dined at their Romantic Bure for my wife's birthday and was washed out by an unseasonal high tide and waves, however our private waiter took the situation in his stride and the night was fantastic (Thanks to Temesia). I'd recommend it to anyone.
There is a good range of restaurants and themed nights etc.
Beautiful setting. Great photo opportunities. Classic palm tree lined beach.
This resort caters to a wide range of age groups. The resort is very kid friendly with many activities for the kids. Yet we didn't feel like we didn't belong. We are in our early 30's and there was plenty for us to do.
If you are using this hotel as a base to experience Fiji then you should be aware that it is a one and a half hour drive to the airport or Port Denarau. This will make your day trips a little longer. But on the plus side it does mean you have some surprisingly good snorkelling right off the beach. Loads of interesting fish and a few hardy corals.
To sum up this resort has everything you expect from a top range resort at a fantastic price. But it is the staff that make this place special. I would recommend this resort to families and couples. We'll be back.
