We normally stay in modern chain hotels such as Premier Inn. Lordleaze is a more traditional hotel and the furniture reflects that. Bathroom in room 3 is very tight. Bed was more comfortable than at Premier Inns. Staff were very helpful. Food was good. We had chosen from a limited menu for dinner at large family party but it was value for money. Full breakfast was well cooked. There's a number of public areas that worked well for different groups chatting and an outside garden area which we also used.

Thank you for staying - Jill really enjoyed the event which was great

Room 3 is in the old farmhouse and has all original features - the other rooms are more modern but some people prefer room 3...

Got a deal from Amazon so went there for 2 nights. The breakfast was EXCELLENT. Room is clean, unfortunately the walls are thin. I sneezed and the lady next door said, 'bless you'! And I could hear what they were up too as well, which was a bit awkward. This hotel still uses little plastic amenity bottles - sincerely hope that they would change to simple soap dispenser soon.

To start with, don't rely on your Satnav to get you there, it will stop halfway through the town. Luckily, road signs for the hotel take over and easily direct you to the hotel. Had a great welcome on arrival from the owners son, quickly booked in and up to our room which had great views. The room was a decent size and clean, with comfy bed. Excellent food served for evening meal with a good choice to choose from. Cooked breakfast in the morning very good also, cooked to order. Would definitely go back.

Have just returned from a Birthday Celebration weekend spent with friends at The Lordleaze.
Lovely peaceful location, pleasant rooms but most importantly.....fantastic staff!
Special thanks to Tom, Diana, Robin and Katherine to name but a few! We were made to feel very very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We were very sorry to leave but will hopefully be back for a return visit soon!

Stayed at the Lordleaze last weekend with a small group to celebrate a milestone birthday of a good friend.

Hotel is a little bit dated but all rooms that we stayed in and saw were spacious and well appointed with comfortable beds.

The staff were great fun, very thoughtful and couldn't do enough for us to make the weekend a success even putting up with our ridiculous buffoonery! Thanks to Tom & family and all the team for making it a great weekend.

We stayed in April 2013 as part of A KGB deal and I have to say we were very pleased. Upon arrival there was no one at reception but a note requesting we use the telephone provided to inform them we were there, The staff arrived promptly and swiftly checked us in. Our original room was at the far end room 26,(I believe, with bunkbeds). However, there was an unpleasant aroma in the room and we asked to move. Fortunately, there was a spare room (no 20) above the bar and we accepted that.
We had to book our meal for the evening from a small menu. I have to say I was not optimistic as it was part of a deal. Nevertheless, the food was beautifully presented, extremely tasty and the portion sizes were generous.
Breakfast was freshly made with a wide choice. I had scrambled eggs, one morning and the ham and tomatoes the following and both were delicious and generous portions once again.
The hotel was very busy over the weekend with functions, but the staff, I felt never prioritised any particular guests above another.
Check out was swift. If I had to make one improvement it would be the bill I was given upon leaving, it was not itemised and merely had the total for each night from the restaurant and bar. I had to trust that it was correct.
Over all a pleasant stay and I would recommend this hotel.
