Owner description: Here at Ystad Djurpark, we try to ensure that our animals and visitors all feel at home. Amid the undulating countryside, you can meet large exotic animals from around the world and many different native breeds, as well as monkeys, lemurs, meerkats, birds and reptiles. In all, we currently have around 60 different species. We also have a large pool area (open 1 June to 30 September) with heated pools. And not forgetting our fantastic café, where you can stop for a bite to eat, something to drink or an ice-cream.

It was a very large area, not too accessible for older people as the hills can get pretty steep, but the monkeys where a thrill and they had a nice cafe. Kinda odd to have a BBQ spot right next to the hog's pen. :(

While celebrating the Swedish mid-summer in a summer cabin nearby we asked our resident neighbors for a suggestion on how to spend a cloudy day. They suggested Ystad Djurpark. Off we went and had a fantastic day.

It's not a very big park, but the location is very nice. When looking at many of the animals you have the rolling southern Swedish countryside in the background. The animals were primarily non-predators, but on the other hand a couple of hawks (I think...) soaring overhead would make me a little tense if I was a park ranger.....

Our almost 4-year old daughter went for a pony ride before spending at least half an hour feeding and petting the goats.

Once we had seen the animals that we wanted to, we sat down at the small but nice playground. There were plenty of picnic tables by the playground an the cafe was just around the corner.

The cafe food was much better than I would expect and generally the park was very neatly kept and welcoming.

When the weather cleared up we ended the day at their small pool area. There are trees all around so the wind was not an issue. The kids (and their dads) had a great time in the heated pool. It was a brilliant end to a very nice day at the park.

I highly recommend this park for families with small children. It was not crowded, it was easily accessible and a good size.

A wide varaity of both Swedish and exotic animals. Loved the lemurs and the suricats. The café/resturant could be better. But you can bring you own picknick and sit in the park enjoing it.

When we went there my daughter was turning 10 that is the max for children exept they have seldom seen animals.

she went on a ponyride but she was kinda to big for the pony.

The animals are taken well care of and we had a nice day, but not much to do nor see, felt like going to visit a ranch...
Well I grew up on a farm in Iceland so maby that why it was no special experience for me, could be, but I enjoyed the day there.

There is a good café where you can buy various kinds of food and eat in or outside.

Their website is good and in swedish and english
