Since our last visit 3 years ago, eating out in Sweden has become an expensive business, so a restaurant like the Prins Charles is a useful find. Also it is open on Sunday evenings unlike many others in the town. It is largely a pizzeria but there is a small selection of meat and fish dishes.
We both chose, and enjoyed, pork with bearnaise sauce, mushrooms and bacon which came accompanied by perfectly-cooked fresh vegetables, which in itself is fairly unusual. According to our hotel proprietor Swedes, somewhat surprisingly, are not great vegetable eaters. Service by a charming English-speaking waitress was also very good.
The only downside was the depressing decor, the dim lighting (not romantically dim, just dim!). This notwithstanding, we wish we had discovered it sooner.
