Porto Finissia

We went there last month for a week and- upon arrival- were unsure about the room they allocated us. But within 24 hours we realized that it was perfect for our needs and quite spacious. There was a safe, AC and a small fridge in the room. The shower was smallish but with plenty of hot water all day. They serviced the room daily and changed the linen twice. The staff was friendly and the frappe they make delicious. The hotel is directly opposite the sea and we could see a little bit of it from our balcony. The position is really superb! We fund the breakfast too large for us, the yoghurt was particularly jummy but -again- the portion was too big. We enjoyed our stay at the Finissia very much.

My wife and I spent two weeks here with very nice people and family service. Hotel is about 500 metre from drop off point which made it difficult with luggage on a hot arrival day. Hotel has a nice position very close to the beach and Mary will make you welcome. There are no sunloungers on the beach here, the hotel will have some that maybe available to use. We had a room at the back which was very noisy as there are some units behind the hotel with a piece of land that was used for mainly parking and bashing a ball between two wooden bats. Dont expect a large balcony as they are very small just wide enough for a patio chair and table the same width. Breakfast is always the same but you can have pleanty of tea or coffee. Not many places close by to have lunch unless to walk along a bit into the village. We spent most time on the beach at the Tara Mara - think its spelt this way - where you can use the sunloungers for free, just buy a drink but its not compulsarary. Resort is clean with very friendly people and service. Peaceful holiday area with not much sceanary but much history. Its a place many people return to but I'd prefer an island holiday next time.

I can't agree with last review, apart from you won't get a front room with Thomas Cook, but we had a side room which had a full sea view.If you are well travelled to Greece the rooms are small what you can normally expect in a small hotel and are very clean with regular linen changes, you can always leave some clothes in your suitcase if you take too many for the wardrobe. The Staff are ALL very friendly and always smiling. The breakfast is the usual Greek breakfast bread, jam, cake, coffee and orange juice and a dish of yoghurt which is an extra you don't always get. If you want 4 or 5 star hotels you don't pay 3 star prices.Thomas Cook pay the basics for the rooms to keep the holiday prices down and air conditioning is extra if you need it.

ok the location is perfect, if your reading this and have booked with thomas cook YOU WONT get a front facing sea view as tc are not allocated them , so we ended up in a shoe box at the rear with 3 shallow draws, in the end my clothes for the 2 weeks were stacked on the floor next to the bed, after 3 days we could stick it no longer and got moved to another slightly bigger room at the back with no view, i thought as a returning customer id be treated better, the owner never smiles and never spoke to us the whole time we were there and to be honest i was glad, the aircon is extra at 42 euros a week gone up from 35 last sept ! gave it back after 3 days. breakfast is basically bread and jam i used to laugh looking at the bewilderment on peoples faces on their first day, at the very least you would expect ham cheese and the like. a real shame it, could have been perfect . looking at some of the reviews above im very surprised. this is an honest review from a person who knows greece well and what to expect, a smile costs nothing

This year will be our 3rd visit to this Hotel and Finikounda, relatively new visitors compared to the lovely people we have met that have been travelling here for many years, and so lucky to have found this place a long time ago. But having found such a special place now, we will always return. This Hotel is just idyllic, fabulous location, spotless rooms, cleaned every day, and daily fresh towels and bedding. The Hotel is small and personal, owned by a lovely couple named Mary and George for whom nothing is too much trouble and always have time for a smile and a word. Situated opposite the beach and a 2 minute walk from the village. We love to sit on the peaceful outside terrace overlooking the sea, enjoying an early evening drink, before wandering into the village to a Taverna for an evening meal, our idea of Greek Heaven. Looking forward to returning beginning of July again for 2 weeks, hoping to meet old friend and new.

rooms are small but comfortable. always hot water, linen changed regularly and those towels that dry you instantly. there is little traffic through this village so noise was never a problem.

breakfast is typically greek, but generous, and service is instantaneous.

we had a room at the back so our balcony, though small, provided a shady retreat for a drink or a quiet read.

can only echo previous comments regarding the friendly, helpful service.

Room Tip: front or side for a sunny balcony, rear for shade.

this was our second visit to this resort and hotel and nothing much has changed.the hotel is clean, bedding and towels changed regularly.breakfast was adequate and kept us going until late lunchtime.the owner and staff were friendly and always spoke to you.You are able to borrow sun umberallas form the hotels storage cupboard if there are any available(we bought our own for 8euro).my only 2 critisisms are the balconys are tiny and in some of the rooms the tvs are in bizarre places.we had to move rooms because my husbend is quite tall and the tv was infronf if the patio doors which he walked into everytime he had been out on the balcony.several other guests we spoke to had also had the same problem.all in all a good hotel in an good location across from the beach.

Room Tip: ask for an upstairs room.avoid room105
