“Estia for me-ah”
Reviewed July 26, 2011

We stayed at Estia in early July 2011 as the second leg of our cross-country family Greek odyssey. We were a rather large and cumbersome group (10) of Canadians of Greek extraction, so we were by all accounts a handful of joy and drama for the lovely staff at Estia.

This place is gorgeous. Well-equipped, intelligently designed, and featuring a host of thoroughly modern amenities. Most hotels talk a big game about details, but this place executes and fulfills on the expectations.

Talk to Glen and Steph and they'll take proper care of you, whatever your need might be. Glen also speaks a mean hillbilly Greek for the locals, despite the fact that he's from Canada.

Ivan at the bar is a god-send of creativity and ingenuity. I'm still trying to figure out how he made my fruit salad look so arty (he's also my newest facebook friend).

Estia is close to quite a few spectacular beaches (it's a quick 1-minute jaunt down a hill and you're salty). Adjacent to charming and affordable restaurants and shops in the village. A quick drive to a world-class golf course (thanks to Estia staff for facilitating this tee time for me, to say nothing about loaning me the golf shirt). Estia is just down the highway from the large town of Pylos, if you need to get cosmopolitan for a night.

Nothing was lacking at Estia, so if you're looking for top-end accomodations for a ridiculously cheap going rate, take the trip to Finikounda and visit Estia. BEAUTIFUL part of Greece and you'll feel as though you found a new home away from home.

Bravo, Estia! See you in 2012!!
