We stayed in the Zambuco III villa and I can not find the words to truly describe the beauty and excellent level of service that accompanied our stay! The staff at Secret Bay are of the highest caliber, the resort presents the opportunity to personally curate your trip down to the smallest detail. It's incredible to travel to a different part of the world and still feel all the familiar comforts of home. Dominica offers such a unique landscape to be explored both on and off it's shores. It is an ideal destination because of the diversity of expeditions and day-trips that can be made. We took part in snorkeling and a trip down the Indian River, all organized through Secret Bay. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and it's was incredibly convenient with pickup and drop-off right on the shores of the resort's private beach. Overall, a world-class level of luxury and service that offers a seamless immersion into paradise.

Secret Bay is the perfect retreat for the adventurous at heart or the peaceful romantic!
The bungalows that are strategically placed among the trees on the lush hillsides are perfectly appointed with every amenity that you can imagine to make you feel spoilt with comfort, and would make the fussiest of people feel as though it was custom designed, just for them!
I also cannot say enough about the service and the fantastic people that are employed at Secret Bay. No request is out of the question and everything is done with the broadest smiles and kindest hearts!
Dominica itself is possibly one of the most beautiful destinations anywhere, and now with Secret Bay gracing its' shore I cannot imagine a more perfect place.
I cannot wait to return to this Utopia!!

Room tip: Each room is unique! No bad decision can be made!

This place is one of those places you see in a magazine. The villa. The view. The water. The service. I can't say enough about it. For those of you reading the bad review and being skeptical don't be...it's gorgeous. The service is amazing. The location is perfect. The food is fabulous. Anything you want - you get. It's romantic and quiet. You don't need or want anything here. The attendants. The chef. The manager. The owner. The drivers. I can't say enough about it. I can't wait to take my kids here. If you are looking for a upscale vacation that is memorable come to Secret Bay.

We read all the reviews of Secret Bay and had a hard time believing anywhere could be that good.  We've traveled the world and stayed at some of the best hotels (Park Hyatt Tokyo and Oberoi Udivillas to name a couple).  Both my wife and I also travel constantly for work.  Secret Bay is just the right mix of intimacy, attention, luxury and adventure.  For us, it was the perfect spot for 5 days of adventure and romance after months of wedding planning.

Before you arrive they send a questionnaire so all your needs can be addressed.  Upon arrival Gilbert picked us up with homemade cookies and plantain chips... Along the drive he stopped for a couple crisp beers for us.  Really a nice welcome after a long journey in.  The drive from the airport is about an hour and then you arrive at the secluded resort.

The resort itself is cosy and very well done.  There's nothing else around it.  Currently there are 6 villas to choose from and two more almost done (we didn't even notice the construction on the two new ones).  Marvin the general manager met us when we arrived and gave us a tour of things, asked if we needed anything and then set us up with Shemima who was incredible.  The level of service is amazing, they give you an iPhone and you can call for whatever you need at any time.  Want to go kayaking?  They have it ready for you with snorkeling gear in ten minutes.  Want to rent a car?  Marvin sets it up in a snap and a nice jeep arrives for you to cruise the island.  Want to have a private dinner on the sunset deck?  No problem!

Secret Bay just makes it all easy, that’s really the point.  Anything you want (within reason on a small Caribbean island) and you can have it.  Our priorities were homemade rum punch, home baked cookies, fresh fish and adventure.

Just a note about food, it’s really amazing. We were skeptical about all the incredible reviews of the food, but it is literally some of the best food we’ve ever had at a hotel. Super fresh seafood and local produce makes everything taste amazing, and the three chefs that rotate cooking are all exceptionally talented. The menu changes daily and if there’s something not on the list of options you want they do everything they can to get you what you want.

The resort itself is perched on a steep hill that leads down to a private beach. It’s breathtaking, peaceful and extremely secluded. Can’t wait until we get to go back.

We stayed in the Mapou bungalow for our honeymoon, and it looked just like it did in the pictures. It is like staying in a treehouse overlooking the water. The secret beach, which is not even a 5 minute paddleboard or kayak ride is spectacular. It is white sand surrounded like a horseshoe by cliff. We sat out 2 days for more than 4 hours with not a soul around. We felt like we were on lifestyles of the rich and famous.

The service is great. Whenever you want use of the paddleboards, snorkeling equipment, etc you use the phone Secret Bay gives you to carry around and call security to tell them what you want to do. They then put the gear right out on the beach for you so that you don't have to lug anything around. When you are done you leave the paddleboards/Kayaks right on the beach and they take care of it for you.

We had two meals a day that they cooked for us and served us wherever we wanted on the property. The food was excellent, and I loved the fact that they would serve you and ask you what time they should come back to clean up. We got to eat food as good or better than most restaurants right on our porch over looking the ocean and not have to do dishes or cleanup.

The bungalow is not big, but I never felt like we needed something bigger. If you are a couple that is big and tall, you may want something bigger. For the average size couple the size is not an issue.

The service was great. I felt like they were always looking to help us do whatever we wanted. Due to rain our activities had to be rescheduled and Secret Bay rearranged everything to make sure we got to do the things we wanted to do most.

badjackson7, we are so happy you enjoyed your stay in the Mapou Bungalow during your honeymoon. Though Secret Beach is not private, it’s very secluded, perhaps because it is inaccessible by land. Most guests have it to themselves for hours on end- like you did. Glad you also enjoyed the service provided by Security and the Souce Shack team. I will be sure to share your warm words with them.
