Fantastic Cottage fabulous land lady a great experience for my family
A beautiful place to spend a holiday for my parents
Definitely want to book it again for my parents
We chose this cottage for its location for cycling in the Forest of Dean and the Wye valley. We found the cottage cozy and comfortable and the wood burning stove added to the charm and enjoyment of the stay.
As previous reviewers have said the owners Alan and Liz keep the cottage clean and well maintained and are on hand and gave us good advice about where to visit in the area.
We would agree with previous reviews that the cottage is clean, comfortable, tastefully furnished, and the owners have thoughtfully provided most things that you could need. Unfortunately we had 3 issues with the cottage.
1)We always select properties with parking. The parking for the cottage is in the lane outside the cottage (when a space is available) and you need to park only inches from the wall to allow other traffic to pass The owners kindly parked their car further up the lane on some private parking and allowed us to park in front of their garage door, as there was no where for us to park.
2)Extremely loud creaking floorboards in the bedroom woke me every time my husband moved around, and I am not a light sleeper.
3)We found it unbelievable that plain glass was put in the en-suite bathroom window, with the toilet only a foot away.Even during the day, with no lights on it was necessary to pull down the roller blind so that you where not in full view from the lane, and the houses opposite.
I would recommend the cottage after pointing out these issues.
Cottage very, very good and owners very helpful. The cottage was extremely clean . Everything you could possibly need is supplied, including hairdryers and freezer plus milk, tea, coffee etc. Perfect cottage if you have a dog as the garden is enclosed and the stone floors are ideal.
Forest of Dean on doorstep and the White Hart very friendly pub.
A lovely cottage, clean, comfortable and with everything you could need. Milk, tea, coffee and biscuits on arrival and lovely friendly hosts. Plenty of on street parking and the area is dark and quiet at night, which is always a bonus! The garden is lovely, equipped with table & chairs and a great place to sit & relax after a long day walking. The cottage is perfectly located for exploring the Forest of Dean & the local towns, villages & other attractions, of which there are many. The whole area is easy to navigate making for a stress free holiday. All in all a great place to stay & one that I would thoroughly recommend .
