“Not good, Not good at all”

The room was filthy and no chef to cook evening meals, @ 6:30 pm in the evening, imagine that! The town of Ballymote is very nice indeed and it has alot of history to it but I'm afraid I cannot say the same for this hotel. We won't be staying there again.

My partner, myself and our nearly 2 year old stayed here for 2 nights for a relatives wedding, and what a great experience. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and made our stay a delight.

I stayed here for 6 nights recently. Ballymote is not New York, or Paris, or indeed even Dublin - however, the friendly staff was more accommodating than some 4 & 5 star hotels I've stayed at. I found the rooms reasonably clean and spacious, more than ample closet and drawer space, the bathroom clean, spacious, and well supplied. The hotel dining room and bar had a decent menu, reasonably priced, the quality was above average, and the staff courteous and efficient. The one thing I would like to stress is the outstanding friendliness and helpfulness of the staff - something that can make or break your trip. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the train station and the churches in the heart of town. The best bargain I've ever had, and I've spent at least 70 days in hotels in the last year alone.

Stayed 2 nights in very large family room (sleeps 6!) - tidy and clean with bathroom towels and condiments supplied. Easy friendly check in and out with a bargain price - 2 adults and 2 children (11 + 13) at 100euros per night including breakfast.
Meals were good - breakfast a small choice of cereals, orange juice, toast, full Irish and unlimited tea/coffee. Day/evening meals in the bar/restaurant good value and good portions. Large screen plasma with Sky news with subtitles and sport when big games on. Family thoroughly enjoyed stay and very happy with hotel facilities and staff. Will certainly stay again when next in the area.
