We spent a night at the Bagni Vechi hotel, which could be considered a three star hotel , very clean and tidy, the room offered a lovely view of the snowy valley.

It was a weekend (and Valentine's day too) so in the evening the SPA was pretty busy so I will advise you on how to make the most of your stay.

If, like us, you happen to go to the SPA on a weekend, make sure you wake up as early as you can , have your breakfast in your bathrobes and head out to experience the thermal waters experience in full serenity and privacy. People rarely head out that early and start flocking in at around 11. Start with the outdoor pool and its hydro massage , enjoy the snow around and the breathtaking view of the valley then head down to the ancient roman grottos, barely touched , slip into those hot springs and feel as if centuries had not passed. Quiet, foggy caves of stones.
before living make sure you also try the little hot spring tub outside. After all that , head back inside to the many types of saunas and steam rooms and wash in all off with the indoor water cascades. If you do all this early , you will have the great advantage of quiet time which I personally prefer if I want to relax. It's quite beautiful at night too, I suppose a week day for that would be even better as it would probably be less crowded too.

Best time to visit would be during snow time, it gives it all that extra charm. Enjoy it everyone, I sure did,

The bagni vecchi are in a beautiful location. The main bath is outside and offers an amazing view. on the valley. There are turkish bath, sauna, mud baths, room with music and color therapy. I think that it's a very good place where to go to relax.
At weekend it can be very crowded so I advice you to go there during working days and possibly not in August.

An enjoyable range of spas, saunas, steam rooms and relaxing treatments. Some of the pools and 'grottos' dating back to the Romans. Fantastic views from the pool outside and lower whirlpool bath (near the batcaves)

I've been there before and two things "bothered" me this vist.
The changing room are mixed - dont get me wrong - you have space where you can have privacy but if I want to dry my hair wearing just a bra and panties I cant do that because there are men around....
Also they used to have apples around the spa you can snack on - now no more ....when you spend hours in hot tub, saunas, pools you need water and fruit available. And for the price you pay to get in please put the apple back !

The place looks really good and smart at the entrance but this is the only positive comment i can give. Being a traditional old spa, I can understand the place is quite old fashioned. I cannot admit, anyway, to find dirty water and some dirt on on the floor, toilets cleaned by personnel washing water on the ground where everybody is passing wearing only flip-flops and really too many people! I paid 47 euros, had to book the day before to find the spa literally full of people! no place to go without hitting somebody, pools full of bodies, sauna as well.
Sorry but for 47 euros I expect much more.
never coming back again
