We had a fabulous time at Villa Cafaggiolo. The villa, location and hosts were perfect in everyway. The villas are tastefully decorated and provide all the equipment you need for your stay. The gardens and pool area provide an oasis of calm after the hustle and bustle of Florence. The Pucci Family are charming and gracious hosts and are on hand to advise on places or restaurants. We will definitely return!

We loved everything about our stay at Villa Cafaggiolo. The location, the villa, the setting, our hosts - perfect, a memorable stay for our entire family! The Pucci family was very gracious and helpful, making sure all details of our visit went smoothly. Even my 7 year old granddaughter says our week stay at the villa was her favorite part of our trip to Italy!

Our family of five rented the Brunelleschi apartment in Villa Cafaggiolo in late June, 2013, as part of our fist trip to Italy, which started in Rome, included time near Florence at the Villa, and preceded our later travels to Switzerland and other destinations.
The apartment could easily have accommodated 8 or 9 guests and was plenty spacious for our needs; our children are 9, 11, and 13. With the pool, the grounds, the horses, but especially the incredibly charming and gracious hosts, the Pucci family, we could not have found a better spot to relax in this beautiful setting, or for our various excursions to Florence, Pisa, and surrounds.

The Pucci's really have a broad knowledge of the area, are well traveled themselves, and are ever eager to help ensure your stay is enjoyable. We relied very heavily on other traveler reviews in ultimately selecting Villa Cafaggiolo. All the reviews we saw were very favorable, and they proved to be accurate in every way. We did opt for the private chef dinner and this turned out to be an excellent choice, as their goal is allow their guests to experience an authentic family dinner typical of the region, but which we Americans might associate with a grand family Sunday dinner, or even akin to an "Italian Thanksgiving." Regardless, it was a sumptuous and generous feast the 5 of us could never hope to finish on our own.

We were sad to leave when we did and would definitely hope to stay at the Villa on our next trip to Europe and Italy. Bravo to the Pucci family!

Room Tip: We only stayed in one of the three apartments available but it certainly looked like any of the 3 apartments would have been great for our needs.

We rented the Michelangelo apartment in the Villa Cafaggiolo. It was wonderful. The host family provided us with incredible local olive oil, balsamic and honey, plus two bottles of local wine. The setting was peaceful (except for the morning roosters!) and situated so we could easily travel to the local market and train station. There is no central air, but the house stayed pretty cool even when it was 90* outside. The setting really is magical, and the Pucci family are quite kind and friendly. You should note that there may be 2 other families sharing the house (divided) and pool, so we ended up with 8 other adults and 8 other kids on the grounds. That's probably not typical, but you may need to be prepared.

I highly recommend staying at Villa Cafaggiolo! My husband and I spent 2 weeks in Europe with a group of friends and one of our stops was Villa Cafaggiolo. We spent 3 wonderful nights there and it was by far one of the best stops on our trip. The entire Pucci family were wonderful and very accommodating! If you get a chance definitely have the private chef prepare dinner one night. Marco will cook one of the best meals you'll ever eat! It is about a 20 min train ride into Florence but Paola and Niccolo were great about providing us with car rides to/from the train station. I wish we could have spent more time in the Tuscany region and at Villa Cafaggiolo. Great place and wonderful memories! - Audrey
