“Beautiful French retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

We had a very relaxing week's holiday in this beautiful guest house. Les Buis is finely decorated and the owners have an artisitic touch with a great attention to detail.

Carlos and Sergio were very attentive hosts with suggestions for day trips and local activities. It was lovely having breakfast each morning on the terrace, overlooking the garden and pool. We had the pool to ourselves for the majority of our stay and enjoyed great weather. GIven the hot weather, AC in the rooms would have made us more comfortable.

Ille-sur-Tet is a quiet town with a limited number of restaurants (especially ones with vegetarian options) - Casa Del La Ram was our favourite. We enjoyed a day trip to Collioure on the coast and a trip to an old abbey in the mountains.

We would definitely recommend Les Buis - we had a lovely time.

Thank you indeed for your kind opinion about us and Les Buis. It was a pleasure to be of help, as well as to put you up. In fact, after you left, the house felt a little empty...As to the AC we have been thinking about it. But we intend to make it to the whole house and it may take a little time. It also depends on the flow of guests.
If you are in the region, do not forget to drop by. It will be a pleasure to see you all again. Warm regards, Carlos/Sergio

Thank you Sergio and Carlos; Les Buis is a very special place - elegant and refined, and you really are perfect hosts - kind and extremely helpful. Andy and I were amazed by the attention to detail you pay to the selection and presentation of the breakfasts - they are a work of art! The pool area is tranquil and relaxing. The garden is beautiful. Our bedroom was tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Sadly, you could only offer us two nights ....... but we'll be back!

My wife and I were staying In Ille Sur Tet for two weeks and needed a B&B for our two twentysomething daughters. Les Buis fitted the bill completely. It was central but quiet, Beautiful rooms with beautifil fittings and it had a certain elegance. The girls loved it and felt like royalty. Sergio and Carlos were the perfect hosts, attentive but not fawning. Breakfast was like a work of art and there were lovely touches such as different crockery sets every morning, eating out on the terrace or inside if colder. We couldn't recommend Les Buis highly enough.

Serigo and Carlos are two of the finest hosts that we have encountered in our 43 years of world travel. They are simply the best being kind, helpful, understanding and mindful of their guests' every needs. Their house is elegant, spacious, and comfortable. We felt every bit at home. The breakfast is replete with local specialites in abundant quanities with each personally selected by Serigo and Carlos. Les Buis is conveniently located on a quiet side street in this lovely market town. If you are looking for a lovely B & B in a great location and run by two of the best hosts in France, do yourself a favor and stay with Serigo and Carlos at Les Buis.

It is indeed a pleasure and a difficult opportunity to have guests as nice and charming as you. The few days you have stayed with us, enriched my idea of running a B&B and my determination to go on trying, together with Carlos, to make our home better and better. The task is not easy sometimes. I promise to persevere thinking you might come back one season and find the house and ourselves even better than now, although older. We do hope you stay well and enjoy your staying in Europe and when possible, sends us pictures of your work. Till the next time!

Les Buis is worth going back to again and again. We were there December last year and decided to return this October, taking advantage of a few days off at work. Previous reviewers (myself included) have already expanded themselves on the innumerable virtues of this charming "Chambre d'Hôtes" (Bed & Breakfast): among them, the charm and warm hospitality of the hosts, Carlos and Sergio, the exceeding good taste of the decoration, the ample spaciousness of its rooms (we stayed once again at the Printemps/Spring), the comfort of the beds, and, yes, the sumptuous breakfasts. I enthusiastically reaffirm all this and recommend Les Buis to all discriminating travellers.

we flew from paris at the insistence of a friend who stayed at le buis and were welcomed by the owner carlos who quickly put us at ease in our palatial surroundings. our room was large and was decorated in traditional floral flourish of french provincial. we loved the feel of the modern bathroom which had a separate wc in the room. the mattresses were so comfortable and spotless. the frette sheets were an added soft touch as were the duvet and blankets. we slept so soundly at le buis which was so different than our so called upscale hotel in paris which was three times the price. we took a car trip to a beach town 35 minutes away and had a scrumptious fish lunch and promenade around town. there are many interesting day trips that carlos and sergio suggested in lovely hiking areas. all were within an hours drive, our breakfasts were fresh homemade jams, yogurt and buttery croissants. we spent time reading in the garden and relaxing at poolside. the rose garden is exquisite and carlos can be seen tending it daily. you can walk to town and enjoy an espresso and lunch or dinner and feel very welcomed by the local residents. all in all we had an adventure that we will always be in our travel memories and hope to revisit next spring.

Room Tip: corner suites are large and sunny

We stayed here one night in May 2012, and loved it..they have retained all the old 19th-century character, but also added the important 21st century items..our room(garden-view) had a fabulous wet-room/large shower, and the breakfast was really good..not the standard croissant+coffee.
It's on a quiet side-street, so we got a great sleep, and used the 'pool-"refreshing"!
We would definitely go out of our way to stay here again..what a find!

Room Tip: The garden-view room at the back was charming, and good value at e105.
