Amazing staff - can't do enough to help and so polite.
Lovely pools - book Building 5 for the exclusive pool - worth the extra money
Great food - lots of choice
Lovely beach for evening strolls
Only downside - quite upsetting to see some of the Russian guests treating the staff so poorly - even shouting at them - I found this uncooth and unnecessary. The staff just dealt with it professionally but it's not nice to witness.
Local town - run down but lovely Greek people

Room Tip: Book Building 5

Travelled with 11 year old son in July 2012.

After spending time researching hotels we decided to book this one after reading the rave reviews on trip advisor and the fact it's number 1 in halkidiki. Unfortunately it didn't leave up to our expectations and this is why:

The food isn't excellent but very good. It's fresh and there's a limited choice, what they do cook they do well but it's by no means excellent. Sometimes in the haste to serve large numbers the quality (not cooked) was affected.
Service: is without a doubt 5 star all the staff are friendly and can't do enough for you whatever you ask for they will deliver on. Service in the main buffet restaurant sporadic but otherwise excellent.
The hotel/rooms - not 5 star ambience and fittings although very clean. They are normal size hotel rooms with average fittings. You get dressing gowns but no sleepers and the safe is free. The fridge is replenished daily and you can ask for different drinks if you don't like what's in there. Daily maid service which was very good. Bathroom small and the water pressure isn't fantastic for showers which are over the bath.
The swimming pools - there are 2 "public" pools - both clean one is for children and is very big and has it's own area great for toddlers the other is the main pool which is 1.4m deep so no diving! The other pools that are available to guests is one up a hill for block 5 1.2m deep and the indoor spa pool which is very refreshing and only open to families between 8-1pm Pool towels can be changed daily from 9.00am (normally a queue at this time) and are OK towels. The bar service round the main pool is sporadic one side the waitress was excellent and really friendly and attentive the other side was non existent and not as good.

General thoughts/advice
On arrival your cases are delivered by the bell boys - as we checked in with a tour operator on mass we had to wait 30 minutes for our cases to be delivered to the room, we wanted to just change and dip in the wonderful pool.

Booking of the a la cartes is ridiculous - you have to queue at 9.00am and it's booked on a first come first service basis. I would say the only difference in the a la cartes is that you get personal service, the menus are limited and should be rotated over 2 weeks and the food is OK. The greek taverna was very average and you can taste better greek food in a local restaurant a dissapointment as we were in Greece!. Asian was by far the best quality and service but I wouldn't bother wasting your holiday booking them. The spa is great and prices are what you would expect to pay in a 5 star hotel. The free wifi in reception isn't great but works well in the room.
Sunbeds ARE reserved although the hotel put signs about saying they are not. There were a lot of Russians staying whilist we were there and I found them to be rude, gluttonous and disrespectful to the wonderful staff. There children bring metal scooters with them which they whizz about on around the hotel and in the restaurant!!

By the end of our 2 weeks you needed to be down by the pool by 9.30am to get a bed and the staff don't do anything about hotel towels being used to reserve sunbeds before breakfast.

The pool restaurant was poor at lunchtime and the service wasn't great either. They could do with serving more snacks in their but we were forced to eat in the main buffet restaurant which was better selection.

The beach is clean but stoney and the waitress service there isn't great. The watersports are good and the sea is warm and safe. We did scuba diving but again it wasn't the best but for a day out of the hotel it was good.

The local town (10 minute walk) is like a ghost town, it's run down but everything appears to be there, pharmacist, supermarket, handbags, leather goods, jewellers.

The entertainment is average although the 2 professional shows were good, other than that casino night, bingo, pool party (not allowed in the pool) and the nightclub's empty (no proper DJ) other than a handful of teenagers getting drunk using their parents cards as ID!

The "champagne" you get is local very sweet fizzy wine and not nice, the other wines are palatable but not fantastic - we have stayed all over the world at all inclusive hotels and I would say that the service here is by far the best we have experienced but everything else is on a par. If you've stayed at a poor 3 star before then you would be blown away but is it worth the money? Not really, will I return? for a week maybe. The world is too small to return to the same hotel.

Overall if you can get a good deal at this hotel then I would recommend it but it's not the "palace" that other reviewers make out. It's a very good all inclusive and I would rate it 4 star not 5 star. No way is this an excellent hotel please please please do not think you are going to a wonderful hotel it's just good, clean, family hotel. We had a good holiday but it wasn't wow!

We stayed here with another family. Everything was perfect and comfortable, especially for families with toddlers and young kids. The food was tasty and plentiful. The facilities are maintained constantly and everything is clean and neat. None of us wanted the vacation to end.

We stayed as this hotel for 2 weeks with our 8 yr old daughter. We had been recommended this hotel by friends and after reading the reviews on TA decided to book, and how pleased we were. Upon arrival our cases were left safely outside while we were taken to a lounge with sparkling wine & fruit juice. Here the hotel staff gave us a comprehensive guide to the hotel, and issued us with our key cards, pool towel cards & all-inclusive cards (No wristbands). We were given directions to our room and our luggage was brought by the porters.

Our room was spacious enough for three, and modern. We were in block 3 which is about as close to the pool as you can get. We had a large terrace with very nice furniture. The fridge is stocked with fruit juice, bottle of wine, can of lager & large bottle of water. The wine was White which neither of us drink, a visit to reception to request red was no problem.

The hotel has a main restaurant plus three A la carte restaurants - Asian, Greek Taverna & Italian. The main buffet does get busy but if you can get there for 7pm it is not bad. The food is plentiful and very well presented. The décor is very modern & clean. Out of the 14 nights we managed to eat at the A la carte restaurants on 7 of the nights, and I can honestly say I don't know which one we preferred. You are waited on in all these A la carte restaurants & wine is served by the bottle, the staff are wonderful, they can not do enough for you constantly smiling and very friendly.
The Greek taverna is a lovely setting, very chilled. This also serves breakfast were omelettes, poached/fried eggs are made to order. All of the staff again are so friendly.

The pool area is very nice. No rush for beds, I would get to the pool for 8am, most times I would be one of the first and usually still was at around 9am. Beds were still available up to 11am. The waitresses around the pool were exceptional. We didn't need to leave our sunbeds for the whole two weeks, some days it reached 44 degrees but these girls were tireless and always with a smile. I must mention Julita who after a few days brought us our drinks without us having to order them.

We found the entertainment to be very good. There were daily activities which were announced around the pool but no pressure to join in. The staff would simply walk around and inform you that there was beach volleyball or water polo. In the evening there were productions such as Mama Mia which was very good, and music quiz which was very good fun.

If you have children who will go to kids club, then they will be well looked after. Katerina, Persa & Olga did a fantastic job of keeping our daughter happy and out of the sun

The hotel manager Timos is constantly around the hotel, something I have not seen at other hotels. He often stopped and talked to guests and was very approachable, a fantastic advertisement of how customer service should be, and this obviously reflected in how happy his staff genuinely appeared.

We have spoken to people who like us wouldn't normally return to the same hotel again, but do year after year now, and so will we. This hotel offers a very safe environment and you get the feeling the staff genuinely want to please you.

Can't wait to return!
Bri, Chris & Bryony.

Room Tip: Block 3 or 4 are very close to the pool

We returned last week from this hotel after a 2 week stay and we had absolutely no complaints at all. We stayed in the Deluxe suite in block 4 and the location was perfect, Sea view, close to main pool and about 1 min walk from the beach. From arrival to departure all the staff were fantastic but those who stood out were Nastia on the front desk(Ever so helpful and always smiling), Christian in the main restaurant, Daffy in the Greek restaurant and the girls at the pool bar(Roxana and Juliana). We had such a relaxing time as the kids made friends and we hardly saw them at all so we could chill out by the pool and enjoy the sun. There was no daily fight to get a sun lounger as towels were not available until 9am and there were plenty of loungers free. The pools were very clean and the infinity pool was amazing. There are a wide variety of activities to do at the beach from Jet Ski's, canoes, windsurfing, water skiing, pedalos, and sofas that are pulled by a speedboat! We hired a boat for 4hrs and headed into the next peninsula which was great fun, they supply masks and snorkels with the boat also. The entertainment was also good with a wide variety of games, quizzes etc but the best one for me was the Belly Flop competition(Painful)!!
We never really had any complaints but if i was to be really picky then maybe the water pressure could be improved as sometimes at rush hour the pressure wasnt the best but this is a really minor flaw.
Timos the manager was very nice, always on the go from morning till night talking to the guests about there stay so far and checking everything was ok. I thought this was really good as in the past i have very rarely seen a hotel manager out talking to the guests so this was a reassuring touch and proof that he wanted everything to be right.
We also got a late checkout which was very helpful as our flight wasnt until 8pm so they gave us our room until 4pm for a small charge

So all in all we had a fantastic time in Nea Moudania and we would definitely return to this hotel and i have already recommended it to family and friends.

Room Tip: Go for the one bedroom property in block 4 if your looking for some privacy from kids.
