The apartment was spacious and clean but basic. If you intend to cook a lot then you may find it difficult but we only had breakfast in the apartment and a couple of times had lunch which was just a sandwich. The room was cleaned every day which was good. The pool and bar area were very nice with a nice shady area by the bar if you want to get out of the sun. The family who run it were very friendly and I would recommend the BBQ night which is on a Thursday when they have Greek dancers. Very enjoyable. Be prepared to join in with the dancing! The one negative was there are stray dogs and cats roaming around and occasionally we were woken by dogs barking at night but this seems to be common in quite a few european countries. The walk into Hanoiti town takes about 10-15 mins which isn't far and there are plenty of supermarkets within walking distance including a large one. There is an excellent bakery on the main road which is well worth a visit! Hanoiti itself is great. Good choice of restaurants, bars and shops and we found some lovely restaurants. Our favourite being the Kassandra Rooftop. The food and service were excellent. We just wanted a nice relaxing holiday and we were not disappointed so if that's the sort of holiday you are looking for with no frills then this place would be ideal.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 18 which was ideal. Most of the rooms should be in the shade all day which was pe...

The Studio itself was very basic, in that it has what you would expect, such as 1 room seperated into a kitchen area & bedroom and a seperate bathroom. and a balcony. We stayed in room 14 which was kept very clean. We had a couple of issues with the water not being very how when we needed showers, and also the bathroom floor got very wet because the overflowing dranage grid inthe middle of the bathroom. But in fairness to the owners, we never complained therefore gave the owners no chance to deal with it, but on a whole, the Studio was very nice, comfortable and everything we needed and expected, this is a 3* studio.

What really makes this place special is the pool area and the owners, this area has a sea & mountain view, beautiful material clad gazebo's with decked area's nice chairs & tables and a quiet relaxing pool area with very decent sunbeds. When we went the studios were almost full but there was never any loud noise from other guests, and always sunbeds availiable. The owners were lovely as you will see from the other reviews, so i wont go on about this.

But the owners and the pool area, make this 3* studios in my view a 4* studio apartment complex, you will note that this has had the same effect on many of the reviews on the complex many others giving 5*

The location is a fair walk from Hanioti, about 15 mins, and it was a walk we enjoyed, some people have complained about this in their reviews, but this is not the fault of the studios, they should have done their reserch before going, then complaining. Its not that far and is a pleasant walk, in my view.

Hanioti is a vibrant busy centre, with many eastern european tourists, in fact it was nice to be in a minority for once, and hear so many different languages, the main language spoken to all the tourists is still english and is the common ground language of choice. It is very multicultural and a nice place to be generally.

Tips.

If it is anywhere 25 degrees, get the air conditioning @ 5 Euros per day, comfort well worth it. and if you leave it on when your out, after your 15 min walk it is very refreshing to walk back into a cool cool room.

Eat at the tropicana on the main square or the Hanioti roof terrace (down a side street), both very nice.

Best cup of tea in the morning at Love Street Cafe....

Food at the pool bar is simple and well priced, as are the drinks.

That is all i can think of at this stage, but contact me if you have any questions, and if you find this review helpful please press the helpful button below.

Chose this place as all we could see were excellent reviews. We can honestly say that it was perfect in every way. We had a short ten minute walk into Hanioti itself, this helped towards being able to chose when you wanted liveliness and people around, the local supermarket was 5-10 min walk away, beach 10 min walk away too, It was so peaceful there plus the added bonus of the bar and the music playing in the back ground whilst lounging around poolside. The rooms were great, bed linen was changed everyday and floors cleaned. The owners Poppy and Pandellis are are fantastic, and will help in anyway they are able to. We loved Hanioti too...picturesque, small very pretty and buzzing. Will be going back next year.

We booked these apartments based on several reviews on Tripadvisor. I can agree with most of them that they are clean and quite spacious for self catering and the owners are very approachable and friendly. The pool area is great and bar snacks/drinks are priced well. The location is a fair walk from Hanioti square and anyone with walking difficulties will struggle. It is a good 15/20 mins walk into town.
There were some noise issues during our stay. Almost constant barking from nearby dogs which went on throughout the night. This did interupt our sleep somewhat as did noise from people in rooms above us. There was very little that the owners could do regarding the dog issue but it is worth a mention. As for noise from above, a complaint lead to the occupants from above being spoken to and asked to respect those below.
I would recommend Ampelia to couples who are relatively fit for the walk into town. If you like stopping around a nice pool and doing nothing but lazing the day away then this is the place for you. If you want complete tranquility and peace and quiet then there may be better places to consider. If the noise issues could be sorted then I would give Ampelia 5/5. At present I would rate them 3.5/5 overall.
As for Hanioti itself, it is by far the best resort on the Kassandra penninsular. A busy nightlife and nice square. The beach isn't the best so take a trip along the main road to Golden beach. No crowds and lovely sandy beach.

We chose this place as all we could see were excellent reviews and we wanted somewhere that wasn't ruined by binge drinking tourists, somewhere where we would feel a wave of peace, relaxation and calm flow over us. We were on our honeymoon for this trip and we can both honestly say that it was perfect in every way. We had a short ten minute walk into Hanioti itself, this helped towards being able to chose when you wanted liveliness and people around, the local supermarket was 5-10 min walk away, beach 10 min walk away too, although we spent most of our time at the hotel pool in the day time. It was so peaceful there plus the added bonus of the bar and the music playing in the back ground whilst lounging around poolside. The rooms were great, basic but everything you need, bed linen was changed everyday and floors cleaned. We were greeted with a welcome drink of our choice when we arrived to book in and from the first moment we saw the Ampelia the overwhelming feeling of knowing we had chosen the perfect place was with the both of us. The owners Poppy and Pandellis are extremely welcoming and will help in anyway they are able to. Its a small place with about 30 rooms I think, so its not over run with loads of guests or noisy kids, everyone seemed to be pretty considerate with regards to making noise, so we slept great every night. Honeymoon holidays are always filled with more expectation than a standard holliday abroad I think....we weren't disappointed at all. We loved Hanioti too...picturesque, small very pretty and buzzing with good vibes. We loved the Pallini Restaurant...absolutely brilliant guys who work there and the service was amazing as well as the food....we both came home with a feeling that we could both happily live in Hanioti. We have tons of pics just need to upload them! the photos of the Ampelia on their website doesn't do their Hotel as much justice as they should!
