Portinax is a lovely resort just what we were looking for, nice and quiet. Apartments were clean and spacious but very hot we knew there was no air conditioning but our request to rent a fan was met with "you will be alright if you leave the door open as you will get the sea breeze". Now I know why the reluctance to let us have one as after reading the previous review there were no fans left!!

It was great to have no fighting for sunbeds and on some occasions there was only us around the pool sheer bliss. I have a concern about the umbrellas too, one windy day an umbrella fell over and blew into the pool, thankfully there was nobody in the pool at the time. This definitely need addressing as the concrete base does not seem stable enough.

Weather was perfect and the beach beautiful, full of fish which we fed with bread and crackers.

The food in the restaurant downstairs is really good but the service is extremely slow, however, you are on holiday so whats the rush.

I had read the great reviews on the es puet blanc apartments and was expecting great things. However, although there are some good things about the apartments (cleanliness, kitchen area, downstairs restaurant) there are also a few bad ones that definitely need consideration.

Myself, my wife and my two young children (3 and 5) stopped for one week in the last week of august. As expected the weather was hot, but unfortunately so was the apartment. With no air con we simply could not get cool at night. We rented a big fan from the owners which helped the girls get to sleep at night, but did little to keep us all cool. We slept with all of the windows open and the patio door open, but there was no relief from the heat. We asked Maria for a second fan but she said she had run out. If you're used to the comfort air con gives, then avoid es puet blanc.

The other problem we had with our room was with ants. When we arrived there were hundreds of ants in the apartment, little black ones that had a go at biting you, but certainly didn't hurt like a red ant bite may. We had to buy an insect spray and used it daily to control them. Any scraps of food left around would quickly attract the ants which is probably why they make such an effort keeping the apartments clean. But even so, more should be done to control the problem.

Portinatx as a resort was disappointing for us. We enjoy eating out and expected to find a couple of gem restaurants in the resort. Unfortunately, if you want authentic Spanish food then this is not the place for you. Tapas? Not here I'm afraid.

I would describe the resort as Spain 15 years ago. Some people love the unchanged nature, but we prefer to not have to choose between paella, spag Bol, lamb chops, steak etc night after night whilst watching football on plasma tv's.

On the plus side the beaches are lovely, as is the sea.

The pool at es puet blanc was also clean and we could always get sun beds, although the parasols are in need of replacing as most lean at strange angles and fall over at the first sign of a breeze.

In summary, we knew what we were getting when we booked es puet blanc. It is good value for money and it is well positioned in the resort, but It needs air conditioning and it needs some money spending on it.

Also, If portinatx didn't have a large all inclusive hotel at each end of the resort, then it may attract a higher quality of restauranteur.

We stayed for one week at the end of July, the accommodation, cleanliness, restaurant, swimming pool, and friendliness of Maria and Toni were first class.
A perfect location for our first visit to Ibiza, with 3 beaches to choose from and plenty of nice restaurants & bars (loved the Zulu lounge and watching the sunset from the cliff top bar) this was just what we had hoped for.

We wanted a relaxing beach holiday and Portinatx did not disappoint, the main beach is lovely, not overcrowded with excellent snorkelling and very safe bathing for children.
There was a pleasant mix of many nationalities in the resort, certainly the quieter side of the island although if you're desperate for a full English breakfast, bingo and karaoke this can be found in a couple of bars but we didn't venture into them.
I'm sure we'll be back, perhaps next year.
We went on a package deal, if we go again I would book direct with Maria, organise a flight and taxi as the package transfer time with all the stops was nearly as long as the flight!

Room Tip: All the rooms face the beach bay

Having only just arrived back , I wish I was back there, Apartments are basic but very well equipped ( take a corkscrew) and very very clean. The location is stunning, the pool was beautiful, well maintained and clean. The restaurant is by far one of the best, their mixed paella was by far one of the best I have ever tasted, as was their fillet steak, and as a resident you are given a 10% discount.. Maria and Tony's hospitality was exceptional. Portinaxt is beautiful, had read reviews how quiet but we found just right, enough restaurants and bars to choose from all overlooking the sea and a lovely atmosphere throughout the resort, we felt very safe as we wondered around in the evening. We took a local bus into Ibiza town with no trouble at all for about 3 euros each way. Having not been to the Balearic Islands since 1995, it did not disappoint, it's not cheap anymore but I would say price wise it is on a comparison with England. Although I did think a cornetto at 2.85 euro's was a rip off. Downside, not suitable for the infirm as quiet a few steps to apartments . No air conditioning, and it was hot!!, We had taken our own fan, but in the end we hired one of their industrial size one's for about £2.50 an night and it made a big difference. Finally pillows, sad I know, but it would have been nice to have had 2 each. Overall though excellent.

This self-catering complex is run by a family who go out of their way to provide you with a home from home. The apartments are spacious and very well serviced. We had a toaster, microwave, an iron and ironing board, fridge freezer and electric cooking rings. There's plenty of pots, crockery and cutlery, egg cups, tea and coffee pots, everything you need. They even supply toilet rolls. We've had to buy our own in previous self-catering places. Guests who eat in the restaurant also get a discount on main meals and the food is freshly prepared with a good variety on the menu. The apartments have a beautiful view facing the beach and the sun terrace gets the sun from early morning to last thing at night. Toni and Maria are perfect hosts! My only complaint as someone who is not a confident swimmer is that the pool is too deep, but you're right on the beach with a safe shallow bay.

Room Tip: There's some rooms which are approximately 100 steps up from the beach so ask for a lower apartm...

We were pleasantly suprised when we arrived at Es Puet and over whelmed with the location right on the beach in a small and family friendly bay. The staff were lovely and very hospitable and the rooms were clean, had all we needed and were cleaned to an exceptional standard twice during our weeks stay. If the pool is your thing then it's a perfect suntrap but if it's the beach your after then that's just as lovely. The food in Portinax as a whole wasn't great and I found it samey and slightly overpriced in some places but we managed for a week. We hired a car and got to the Hippy Market at Es Cana, a day trip to St Eulalia, the Caves at St Miquel and watched the sunset one evening at San An.
Overall we would definitely go back and stay at Es Puet. Enjoy if you do decide to go and hope your experience is as good as ours!

Having read the reviews before we went, we were very pleased that the apartment was everything we wanted. We arrived late at night to a friendly welcome from Maria. We loved lots of things about this holiday. The apartments were spotless, the food was delicious and we felt at home immediately. We were so glad we hadn't booked a hotel with an AI option instead. For about the same price, we could eat when we felt like it, visit all the local restaurants and enjoy snacks in our well equipped kitchen.
There is a well stocked small supermarket a short walk away on the board walk and prices were fair. The food at Es Puet Blanc is very good and reasonably priced with a kids menu. There was entertainment every other night in August and although not normally my thing - there were a couple of cracking acts and the great thing is although they start at 10pm, all the live music and loud stuff finishes at 12pm which means you can go to bed or sit on the balcony with relative quiet.

The beach is great and even in high season it was always easy to find a spot on the beach or around the pool. And if you don't want to pay for the sunbeds and umbrellas - at 4.50 euros each on the beach, many people take towels or lilos and buy umbrellas locally. As a family of four it would have cost us about 200 euros to use them for the holiday which was too much. Instead we stayed around the pool and walked down to the beach when we wanted to swim or snorkel. The beach has lovely clear waters and I saw about 16 different varieties of fish, early morning was best for snorkeling. It is shallow for quite a long way out and is great for families. On the second to the last day some jellyfish were spotted but this can happen anywhere in the med - it's all to do with tides apparently.
As for the pool, it was clean and very deep but the kids loved it. But for smaller children be aware that there is no life guard and you will need to stay with your children while they swim. There are pedalos and kayaks for hire on the beach and a dive shop around the bay plus waterskiing and the big banana, and glass bottomed boat trips.

Maria and her brother Tony are great hosts, and Miquel and Ramon are top waiters. They made us very welcome and when our son fell off his chair, they were at his side in seconds with cold water taking care of him. It was nice not to be at an anonymous hotel but somewhere where there was a friendly 'hola' everywhere you went.

It was also a very cosmopolitan resort with Spanish and French guests at our apartments and this part of the resort avoids the naff feel of "Brits abroad" of so many Spanish resorts. We will definitely be going back and hopefully this time we will use the local bus to visit Ibiza Old Town and the caves, as we were too chilled out to get around to it this time.

The only grumbles I have are the same as for most holiday apartments, better pillows please and softer mattresses.

We booked direct with the apartments (espuet@teleline.es) and a fan was included in our welcome pack which was a god send at night and for us preferable to air con which always makes us snuffly. We stayed for 10 days with our two sons aged, 9 and 13. They had a great time, loved the proximity of the bar to the beach where they could kick a ball about until the sun went down and we could watch from a safe distance, glass of cava in hand. A very relaxing break. Thanks very much Maria and Tony. Hope to see you again soon.
